Hindes Fine Art is a place that encourages and creates freedom, confidence, and camaraderie in art. Janice Hindes is a teacher with a world of experience, a wealth of knowledge and an unfailingly funny, accurate insight in all things paint and form. She can capture light in her paintings, and she can teach you to do that as well. Though I have taken art classes for many years, I come away from each class with a new lesson or two to tuck away, a canvas better for her assistance and a feeling of accomplishment. Her talent and her love of the arts provide inspiration for the newcomers, the professionals, and everyone in between.

Janice is an amazing teacher and artist. I started with her as a beginner and within a month of taking classes, I was already accepting commissions. She takes students of all skill levels. If you want to be a fine artist, or hobbiest, you won’t regret taking classes from her. She has an amazing eye and a wealth of knowledge. She truly knows her craft. Her students are some of the most talented, kind, and encouraging people I’ve ever met. The building is gorgeous and the gallery is growing. What a treasure we have here in San Antonio!

Both Hindes Fine Art Gallery and Hindes Academy deserve a 5-Star rating. After visiting the gallery I began taking classes at the academy. Both are located in one of San Antonios elegant historic homes. Janice Hindes not only has the heart of an artist but far more important to me personally, she has the heart of a teacher.

I look forward to my time here each week- The students are nice, the teacher is terrific, and the atmosphere is comfortable. Best thing I’ve done for myself this year!
