Cool venue thats got good room for crowds but still feels intimate. We saw Alter Bridge here and it was such a sweet show! Nice that you can get some food at the bar while waiting for the main act. Food was pricey and simple but came out piping hot and was surprisingly tasty. Staff at the entrance and inside were fairly friendly. They offer a coat check which is nice during the colder months. Bathrooms got a thumbs up from my wife, so thats high praise!

Definitely my favorite large venue for live music downtown. Very clean. Great acoustics and sound system. Decent food and good drinks. Security was pretty thorough, yet friendly, which I appreciated. A nice touch of nostalgia and history as well as this venue is part of the old Union Pacific Railroad Depot. Id say the only downside is that the concert hall is on the 2nd and 3rd floors, BUT they do have spacious elevators, so its not really a downside at all!

The venue is just the right size the sound is excellent. However, it would be nice if they offered a way to purchase a seat, even if it cost significantly more. By the time the main act is on stage, there is a good chance youve been standing for four hours or more! Some pretty awesome acts play The Depot throughout the year.

EDIT: I spoke with one of the managers here and they really took care of me. I didnt even realize there is a balcony here at The Depot. Knowing that there was more space to go to enjoy the show, it would have been different the first time. The team here really care about giving a good experience and trying to make the bad ones right. Thats what matters to me most as a customer. A bad experience is one thing. But being ignored by a business is something else entirely. That hasnt happened and I am very pleasantly surprised that this really is a good venue with good management. I was wrong about this place.1st Review: This place is a pretty terrible place to come for a concert, at least in my experience. The place apparently sold too many tickets and its too packed in here for comfort. They have insisted on keeping the bar open through the entire show and its a cattle drive going back and forth through the crowd constantly. Someone spilled beer on me because theres nowhere to walk except through me. At least the music is good. But Ill never come to The Depot again.I actually left early before seeing Alter Bridge play because I was so sick of being pushed around. And not just by other concertgoers, the event staff were all over the place pushing people around to empty trashes and mop up spilled beer. What a terrible experience. I feel so cheated not even wanting to stay to see one of my favorite bands.

The Depot is our favorite music venue in Salt Lake! Lots of excellent bands play at the venue. The staff are friendly and welcome people into the venue when doors open. There are bars on both levels of the venue and great views of the stage wherever you stand on the main floor. The sound has been perfect at every show I’ve attended there. The venue is much more intimate than Saltair or Vivint. Definitely go to a show there!

My wife got us tickets for Alter Bridge (her absolutely favorite band) for my 63rd birthday so we headed down from Twin Falls Idaho. We needed ADA seating due to a very recent surgery and Depot staff were right on it as soon as we got there, as I saw them all perform throughout the night with all customers. A “shout out” to Chris upstairs for his assistance and class! Great employees, great venue culminating in a great birthday experience for my wife and me!

Ive been to three concerts at this venue, all three of words were very awesome experiences. I first seen Blues Travelers there years ago, the sound was amazing. My second show there was Queensryche before Geoff Tate hung it up. And most recently I attended Reverend Horton Heat. A great venue for local names or household names that have been around for years. VIP sections our average price for a venue of this size but they are very decent seats.

The Depot is great! Its a small venue, which gives you plenty of opportunities to get close and see the bands or artists play! Theres the main floor and an upstairs bar which gives you an amazing vantage point as well. The noise level was decent and the crowd was somewhat respectful. Security was pretty tight when entering but pretty relaxed after youve made entry. Overall a great experience and would definitely attend more concerts here in the future!

I went for a fun art show. It was called RAW. The venue was nice and big, and they had elevators to each floor. It was quite cold, but I had a coat so it was fine. The staff were helpful and kind, they always held the door open when we were moving big boxes. They have two drinks bars, one on the upper level and one on the lower. The stage was spacious, and everything worked well. It seems a bit drab when its empty, but thats because it has black walls. A good venue for any event.

We got to skip to the front of the line to check in. Our table was reserved and he came by to introduce himself and offer assistance. The venue was personal and attractive. We had so much fun! I saw Falling In Reverse here a while back, and it was less than spectacular. I remember leaving here with a list of laughable complaints that I can’t really remember all of them now. The sound was good but that was about it. The place was very tight and crowded even for general admissions. I ended up having to leave the pit and stand in the back of the room so I could at least breathe. The stage is low so it can be hard to see the band at some points. And don’t bother trying to see what’s happening on the screens because Guitar Hero 2 had better graphics than those tiny TV’s. I remember tickets being cheap but they make up their money by charging an arm and a leg for tables. With an hour left in the show and 4 empty tables they wanted to charge me and my sister $50 each for a chair. Definitely was expecting a slightly better venue. But I guess you get what you pay for.I debated back and forth on 2 or 3 stars. Because the sound was good. And 9 times out of 10 you’re there for the band. Not the venue. And that’s what’s most important I guess.

Love going to concerts. I enjoy the faster metal music. Glad its inside and serves drinks (alcohol). Maybe a few places to sit could be used if only on outside walls or whatever? But really I may just be a little older than most at these type of concerts. So seating is not necessary. Just glad this type of music is on venue. Metal is so fun and exciting. The aucoustics are great and able to see stage from most of the areas. Plus alcohol is available in restricted area making it possible to bring my 20 year old son. All in all a very happy place to be.

I grew up going to grungy, stuffy clubs all over SLC. I really liked the experience, but now that I’m a little older and have slightly higher standards, I enjoy a quality experience. The depot was the perfect mix And made the Anberlin concert we attended even more memorable. The mosh pits were still going, and some nostalgic stuffiness could be found in spots and areas, but there were plenty of options to stand in the back safely and with some room. The concert was sold out, yet there was room outside of the center pot, which surprised me and was refreshing. There are also 4 or 5 large TVs with a live feed to show the you stage if you have a bad angle or want to see what it looks like from that perspective. The Depot is on the 2nd and 3rd floor. You have to go up lots of stairs or you can take the wobbly elevator. The bathrooms were clean, and all the staff was incredibly kind.5 stars for this place. If you get a chance, come here.

The quality of this venue has declined sharply in recent years, bringing it from my favorite place to see a show in Salt Lake City to one I will most likely avoid. Bar staff is great but not enough security around. I had a bad experience where several aggressive women starting assaulting and shoving me because the front of the floor near the stage was getting increasingly crowded and they weren’t pleased about it. This wasn’t at a punk show or anything where that type of behavior would be expected, it was a folk/world band. It was between sets and I looked to the front of the stage to see if I could shout to security for help but there was no one there. This made for a perfect night as the place was packed and getting a drink at the bar was always a long wait. If youre like me and want to enjoy the music and not the lines at the bar I would highly recommend paying the upgrade. Our bar tender, I wish I could remember her name right now, was one of the best Ive had ANYWHERE! Our drinks never went empty, she was always there to ask if we were ready for another before we were empty. When we arrived we were met by a gentleman that greeted us and escorted us to our VIP seats along with our VIP badges. Kinda made it feel like the part on Waynes World when they get escorted via back stage passes to see Alice Cooper :)! All three bands that played sounded amazing so even though Ive only been here once I was seriously impressed with the sound quality. Im seriously excited to go back for another show.
