My roommate and I came across this shop in our search for foundry supplies while looking for a crucible. Now they didnt have anything super small for our application as they supply major smelting foundries with large crucibles but Adam was able to take the time and give us a couple of shops that may have what we needed. This guy took the time to get us the address for the place we needed since we are from out of town we are very unfamiliar with the town. Not many people nowadays will take time to help customers like that and it is very appreciated! The knowledge and information we gained from Adam was huge for us and we will definitely be back for any of our pottery needs. Thanks Adam!!Edit. Weve purchased multiple bags of ceramic mix including grog, fire clay, ceramic plaster, etc. This is a great shop and we also learned they have pottery classes for casual potters!

My husband and I have our own pottery studio. We come here to purchase our glazes. The colors we are getting are beautiful. Jeremy knows what he’s doing.

This isn’t a supply store. It’s a studio. Consider a name change? Consider more specific breakdown of hours?

I am so sad because every time I come in no one is there. I have come in about 5 times over the past 3 weeks every time no one has been there to help me. I have come in during their working hours. I am so confused how they run their business never being there. They are one of the only ceramics stores in the valley so I don’t have much choice but to wait. I just need some clay I think I am just going to buy it online now even though I would rather buy it in store and have someone help me make sure it’s the kind I need. I am sure the customer service and products are great. But I really can’t say until I come in and someone is there to help me. When that happens I will most definitely change my review.

I had a great experience here! Jeremy was very helpful and prompt to reply to emails. It was me and my friends first time ever experimenting with pottery and our teacher Kade was very patient and understanding in helping us! I would come back again.

Not sure what was going on, we went about a week ago. They were open, but not a soul in sight. It didnt look like the pictures either, it was kind of a mess and dimly lit. I peeked in the room where the glazes are and there was a bunch of dust and buckets and plastic sheets laying around. I wanted to buy some supplies but I couldnt really find anything or anyone. Waste of a trip up to slc.

My wife and I took a throwing class here and well definitely be taking another. The instructor was very laid back let you do your own thing but always happy to help. Neither of us had any experience whatsoever with pottery but at the end of the class we had a set of passable bowls.

I go here all the time to pick up pottery supplies! Even if Im not greeted immediately because everyone is in the middle of doing something, when I am noticed they are always friendly and answer any of my questions. No its not a normal shop where they have someone always working the register to wait on you hand and foot, they are artists who are constantly creating pottery, mixing glazes, taking stock etc. So be patient and curious and someone will be along to help you!

Dont fire your hard work here! They sold me cone 05/06 porcelain clay. I used cone 05/06 underglaze and clear glaze. Everything ran. Severely. AND has a big drip of glaze hanging off the bottom. When I bisque fired with them, 3 of My pieces came back with chunks of glaze on them, from their kiln shelf. My maroon velvet underglaze (v-375) is a deep, rich velvety maroon at cone 05, and it came out an almost lavender-pink watercolor. This means they had to have fired it at like cone 10. They took no care in making sure my medallions were situated properly in the kiln, resulting in multiple pieces being completely glued to each other or unintended surfaces. They only gave me back 2 of my 3 high heat bead rods. I had to wait 2 weeks for them to finally get around to firing my load. They have lousy customer service and 2 out 3 times, wont bother to call you back. Im beyond pissed! Dont ruin your work here.

Walking in it was not what I expected but first look isnt always everything, I think what disappointed me the most was we were the only customers in the store and we werent even greeted or acknowledged. I asked all the questions and took it upon my self to look around. I have a bit of knowledge of clay, glazes and such. But had I been a newbie I wouldve been lost. Type of supplies and cost was average for the area. But no personality or enthusiasm at all. As an artist most other artist are out going when we walk in to their establishment. Couldve been an off day I guess. I purchased a few items then continued on to the next ceramics supply store across town.

I had the same interaction as a previous person. We were the only customer and was treated like we were annoying the owner by walking into their establishment. I told him I am a newbie and the only response I got was We do pottery here. Nothing else after that. Nothing like can I help you or thank you for stopping by. We left and went to the place across town. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

What a joke this place is. Their customer service is very unprofessional. When you call them, they either dont answer during work hours or they answer without any greeting. I wasnt even sure I called the right place the way they responded. When I placed an order months ago for some refractory, I NEVER got a call back or notifcation that it was shipped in. I called them again recently just to see if they had it in stock, and they DOUBLED the price since I ordered it only 4 months back. You look elsewhere and the price of the refractory is still the same as it was before. These people have poor business skills from a shop ran by kids.
