I love going to this museum. It is never crowded. The displays are always so interesting. I am continually Blown Away by the talent of the artist the created the items. Im also fascinated by the historical information.

All I have to say is WOW! I did not expect such craftsmanship and beauty in this place. These woodworks and statues are amazingly detailed and realistic. They do have some strong COVID19 measures, which might seem annoying but it’s for the best of everyone and worth it.

Showcases the art (both decoy and traditional paintings) of Lem and Steve Ward. Also gives an overall history of the local seafood industry. This is a self-guided tour. The best information was provided by a video exhibit. Press a button and watch a video about the lives of the 2 brothers from Crisfield, and the decoy making industry. Also has a gift shop and some Charley Harper memorabilia. Exhibits may rotate. Check the website of the museum. An outdoor walking area outside of the museum, accessible from the parking lot, is near the Wicomico River quite scenic.

We went to the museum on a Saturday morning right after they opened. Their award winning carvings are some of the best Ive ever seen. It took us about 2 hours to go through the museum and the volunteer was their to offer us assistance and provide information. They have a nice outside area with sculptures and a walking trail. I highly recommend this museum for anyone who enjoys exquisitely detailed wood carving.

Small, but fun day trip. Very informative center, and thorough explanations of art work. The museum is very focused on the bird hunting culture of Delmarva. The small trail had great scenery, a good way to spend an afternoon.

The museum was interesting and enjoyed it.Disappointed in the lady at the counter. She was a bit scattered explaining everything they had in the museum as there were other venues going on that day. We paid to see the Andy Warhol exhibit, which was very disappointing. We thought it would be better known pieces, but turned out to be random shots my children could have produced.

We went into this meuseum a little skeptical but came out loving it. There is a part on the history of the decoy and then decoys from around the country. But the best part is the part where they have the ones from competition these are lifelike and seem to defy gravity. Would recommend

A great place with a great story! It’s a piece of history to walk through the museum and see how decoy carving began. I have seen the original museum at Salisbury University. It’s good to see how a room of Ward Decoys has come to life for everyone to appreciate. The displays at the museum have all been well planned. To see the past and present carvings is an amazing sight!

Not a whole lot on the inside... Walked through in about 15 minutes. Outside has a small nature trail. If I could suggest they get some grounds people. Some of the outdoor displays were a bit grown over. Thank goodness we had free passes, or I would have been upset at the loss of money. Gave 3 stars for the few cool things...

Do you like ducks? Do you like duck art? Do you want to see thousands of them? Are you old, rich, and boring? Are you old, rich, boring and like ducks or duck hunting? Youll love this museum. Its a really niche museum, that isnt geographically specific. Its *exactly* what you are looking for. It doesnt matter the subject, its a great museum.

I came to this museum with my family on our trip to Ocean City and it was so humbling as an artist and as a marylander. I would recommend everyone go to this Museum it is inexpensive and it is worth every penny. Upon leaving we saw a great blue heron in the observation deck area out back of the museum that just sealed the whole trip with a cherry on top. I learned so much about the brothers and their influence on wildfowl culture. I really would suggest that you take your children or another person with you so that you can reminisce in years to come about your experience. Or go by yourself and learn something new. But definitely a must see if youre in Salisbury. Peace.

A very interesting experience, even if youre not an enthusiast. Fate brought my husband and me here while on vacation. We saw the signs and vaguely remembered reading about the place online so we went - the first room was filled with very old basic looking ducks, which sortve makes you think oh god what have I gotten myself into? I mean, neat but not price of admission neat... But fear not traveler, it gets progressively more interesting! The last room is nothing short of mind blowing. The carvings are so insanely intricate its hard to believe they arent real. I mean, if the whole museum was only that last room, itd still be worth the price of admission.Word to the wise for the uninitiated... if youre going here on a lark its actually quite popular - this place is like the world epicenter and leading authority on all things wooden duck, and so its likely you will find yourself alongside other people who are taking this very seriously. Overall its super cool and highly recommended.
