Nice and quiet little place with info about history of the area and also some other (changing) art on display. There is a lot to see and learn for the interested, unfortunately there is absolutely nothing in regard to native people fishing habits/ways, which is surprising, since the whole area is basically on the shore so I would imagine natives would have used the oceans resources quite a bit.

The staff at this little gem is super friendly and informative. I was greeted immediately upon entering the building and shown around to all the exhibits, all the while getting information about what was being shown. It’s a small place but nestled so close to downtown it would be easy to incorporate into your day! I recommend this museum as a fun informative addition to your visit to Safety Harbor!

Like I said, the wife paints rocks. Once a year, the Safety Harbor Museum puts painted rocks on display from local artists. Well done!

Stopped by at this museum when they were having a painted rocks exhibit.. the exhibit was great but it was even better to find this nugget full of local history (I always thought Odett Phillippe was female - Not!) An older gentleman, a volunteer, was very helpful and knowledgeable about local history and I found myself mesmerized by his storytelling. it’s rare to find anything of value that is free but this museum is a real gem.

Very nice dog park. There are two sections one for small dogs and one larger ones. There are usually a number of balls you can through and there are plenty of bags to pick up after your dog.

First time visit to museum. Enjoy seeing the respect paid to past residence of local area. Including indians. Yes they have an actual sacred burial ground. Also some more recent recent pioneers to Pinellas county. Like McMullen family, Booth family and Boyd family. Museum has many nice artifacts from wildlife that inhabited this area many thousands of years ago. Some of the past human tools used during their daily lifes are being discovered in Safety Harbor in just the last ten years. Im sure there are many more artifacts to be discovered. Leave yourself an hour, bring the young explorers in your family and enjoy our local heritage.

A Great small town museum, that has all its local history on display year round and gets in an excellent selection of specialty displays. From painted rocks, to carved wood, to painted masterpieces, to collections of santas! Always a surprise to visit monthly!

When you visit Safety Harbor, definitely take an hour or so and check the museum out. They have some awesome artifacts from the Native Americans who settled Pinellas County to toys from the 50s-80s and much more in between. They have a really nice collection of things and you wont regret stopping in.
