Love it here. I came here when I was a kid and now I recently went back and seen how beautiful it still was after so many years I love coming here.

On February 22nd it was a beautiful, sunny warm day to explore and enjoy the Maidu Historic Site. The trails were good, a bit difficult for my power chair, but the viewing was excellent. We saw several of the 80 wild turkeys on site. The area was well kept up and the markers along the way were interesting the read. The indoors museum was also very informative of this native American people. The docents were very helpful. I highly recommend for family visiting.

A Must See - Great for every age! Thank you for the Free Museum Day Visit Feb. 3, 2018! Our 8 year boy old loved the special day activities for kids; cracking and grinding acorns, bracelet making, and acorn spinning with kind museum helpers. We loved exploring the beautifully designed museum and doing the challenging scavenger hunt the kind museum greeter told us about. The highlight was the walking tour with Alex. He was excellent at explaining the nature around us and the history of the Maidu Indians daily life. He projects his voice in a good way so even a large group can hear him. He deserves a raise! Our first time to the museum and we have lived in Granite Bay many years. Note for Parents: plan to keep kids by your side and off the historic petroglyph rocks for the 45 walking tour, in respect to the history and the other museum guests. Loved learning all the history - well be back! Melissa Mitchell

We enjoyed the history of California Maidu people. The rock carvings and grinding rocks were fun to envision what it must have been like before the Europeans came here.

If visiting the Sacramento area and youre interested in local Native American history, this place is definitely worth a visit. There is a very good interpretive center and a short walk outside that features petroglyphs (unfortunately rather difficult to visualize) and a collection of streamside grinding rock mortars that rival those Indian Grinding Rock State Park.

I chaperoned my daughters school field trip here and is was really an awesome experience. We learned a ton. Walking the trails with the tour guide and experiencing how the Maidu lived right in our own backyard was very cool. Will definitely come back with the rest of my family so they can experience and learn about the Maidu Indians as well.

This is a wonderful museum and archeological site. I try to visit whenever Im in the area. Unfortunately when I went today I discovered that the City of Roseville has dramatically cut hours for staffing. Of course, when cuts like this happen to a unique and beautiful example of Native American heritage in this part of California it is always attributed to staffing cuts, not business as usual. More people should be able to visit, not fewer. Why doesnt the City promote the Maidu Museum?

It was ok. I wasnt impressed. There is barely anything to do and the tour guide needs to be more interesting. I wish cameras were allowed! Also, the nature trail is very short and you can barely see the rock carvings. It needs more activities and space. I went on a field trip today there, not impressed.

Very informative and well thought out museum with a lot of hands on exhibits. There is a short walk out behind the museum with petroglyphs on rocks and placards with native words and information. Most of the petroglyphs seem to be mossed over making it hard to find. While worth it to go on a free day, I wouldnt pay to go here, unless you must learn about the Maidu people for a project or something.
