This review is in regards to taxidermy work that was done. Not the taxidermy school that Mr Busen has.I took my deer to Mr Busen in June of 2011. I just got it back about a month ago, in late February of 2013. So he had it for about 20 months. During this time, he frequently wouldnt return my calls. I took to calling him from a different phone so that I could actually get an answer. The first time I called him was July of 2012. Hed told me itd probably be after Christmas initially and I said thatd be fine, that I wasnt in a big rush. When I talked to him he said hed been real busy with his school but that my deer should be done in about 5 weeks. I said no big deal. I waited until September and tried again. I left a message and it wasnt returned. I waited a couple weeks, and left another message which also wasnt returned. When I finally got ahold of him the next month he said that it should just be a couple more weeks. I waited until after Christmas of 2012 and got back in touch and got a similar couple weeks type of response and then it got to be that it would be ready the next week. He even told me he was waiting for a part to come in. Im not sure what part would be needed after 18 months or so, but Im just wanting my horns back at this point and so I said fine. I eventually got it and it really doesnt look that good. Dont get me wrong, its not terrible but its got hair slipping on one side and there are areas where the hide looks patched and the cape I brought in was in great condition. Im not sure what happened to my deer or if I even got the same hide that was on the deer I shot, but I know I wont be going back to Busens and I wont let my friends go back either. Its a shame because Mr Busen seems to be a nice guy but I sure didnt have a good experience.
