Very well kept golf course. Some green speeds felt inconsistent, but overall played quick and true. Beverage cart was around every 4-5 holes which was great! Fair priced round as well.

Aldeen Golf Club is a Rockford Municipal course and a Top Five public golf course in illinois. The club house is large and well designed within the past few years. It has an excellent outdoor patio area overlooking the 18th. Near the patio is an outdoor stage area for bands playing at night. Was on the 18th as sun was almost fully set and a band was playing which was a cool experience at the end of the round. Course is very well designed. Challenging but fair. Larger landing zones but other challenging aspects to even it out. Maintenance was fantastic and staff was very friendly. I live in Chicago but make the hour and half drive with no hesitation. Plus half the cost of the other top tier illinois courses.

Easily the best course within 50 miles and for the price I cant think of one better. Dont let the beautiful floral landscape fool you, this golf course will beat you down if you let it. If youre going to miss a shot make sure you miss them into the neighboring fairways if possible. In most places a bad shot will lead to a lost ball, if you manage to hit any treelines good luck with the variety of issues from sand traps, mounds, juicey rough, and/or dense shrubbery. If you hit the fairways youre rewarded with plush grass that feels like carpet, the grounds here really underscore the beautiful midwest turf we get to golf in the summers. Greens are well kept and challenging, they rival many private clubs with the variety of challenges you face from speed, size, shapes, and tiers. The gold tips play 7400+ yards and among many classic and modern style holes, theres an awesome island par 3 tha has a rendition of the famous Swilken Bridge from St. Andrews. Aldeen will not disappoint.

Love this course. Can’t wait to play it this season. The fairways are super soft; it’s like a hot knife through butter when I take divots lol. The course is pretty forgiving playing from the white tee box; not too long (I’m about a 15 handicap). Hole number five should be an easy par.

Ive played some pretty nice courses in WI, IL, MI & even Mexico and Hawaii. Aldeen is one of the best, if not THE best for the facility offerings vs. price combination. It is northern Illinois jewel.But, if you played it in 2018, it was in the worst condition Ive seen in years, . . . all due to the weather. I played on several area courses incl. 2 country clubs. They were no better if not worse.Lets hope 2019 is a lot better year. Duncan, any idea when when the estimated opening will be in April?

Incredible practice center! We like to stop off the highway at random locations to put and practice to break up our travel. This was a great surprise. There were so many ways to practice chipping pitching, putting etc. The lights allow for night practice as well!

Terrific public course.

Hitting off of the grass is much more instructive than hitting off of plastic mats. And the great chipping and putting greens are the best way to improve your score.

The golf course is excellent. Clubhouse is very clean. The food is too greasy and salty. I recommend eating.

This is the best public golf course in the state as far as Im concerned. Course is beautiful and well maintained. I drive 2 hours to play here. Golf carts are very powerful and plush, they have GPS and you can email your score to yourself from the cart. The grill is superb!All the staff I encountered was excellent and helpful. Try the Cubano at the grill.

The Rockford Bank and trust pavilion is beautiful! The golf course is immaculate and a great challenging course!

A cool golf course

A fantastic and challenging golf course in the middle of Rockford, yet nestled away such that you only notice the surrounding roads on a couple of holes. Great value, and a great course; Definitely worth the stop!

Pretty good course. Had to rent clubs since Im from Houston and the rental clubs sucked compared to other places Ive been. Most places rent nice Callaway or Taylor made. These were cheap Wilson. Not even the good Wilson clubs out there. Overall condition was pretty good. No cart attendants to be able to purchase beverages or snacks while on the course.

Played here a day before ProAm. Course was in immaculate condition.

Not going to lie, this would have been a 1 Star if the staff and clubhouse weren’t so great. Whoever is in charge of the course this year better wake up and stop ruining what used to be Rockford’s premiere golf course. Today, the Red Barn is in better shape than Aldeen. Dead spots every, greens completely ripped up and uncut. What is going on...?

Great course with Fall weather

Love this course. Been playing it for years, definitely a local favorite.

Attempted to have dinner at Greystone, after waiting at our table for over 20 minutes without any acknowledgement from any of the wait staff we left. We will never go back.

Great accommodation for a small meeting. They furnished coffee, fresh fruit, and muffins.

Really nice course, challenging. I lost abouy a dozen balls, but we had a really good time. Greens are fast, fairways were in late season form. Great place to golf and then have a drink or sandwich afterwards. Very friendly staff, worth driving 30 min to get to. We came from sycamore
