The science museum was fantastic location for our childs birthday. His classmates had a blast celebrating with us.

The Center itself is beautiful and fun to look at with its lobby aquariums and rooftop garden/pond views, but the fun museums and arcades inside are so worth the trip!

Cool little center with a ton of awesome shops and attractions. We were in town for the day and spent hours here. Definitely check it out.

A great place to explore and it has so many things for kids of all ages.. the pinball gallery is a walk back in time... The fish tanks are done beautifully and its right in the middle of all the people and action.

Fun to walk around but without paying all you can really do is walk about the aquarium. When I went the only place open was a pinball museum so I wasnt too impressed but I think if I went any other day I would have had a better time.

This was an awesome place to come during our trip here! They had several cool things going on inside! There were plenty of awesome museums, games, and a huge aquarium on the lower floor! They had interactive games and videos throughout the building. Be sure to explore every floor to get the most out of your visit! My favorite part was the rooftop pond! You get an awesome view of the city!

We really enjoyed the public portions of this center (the other parts were closed when we visited) and the staff was super friendly and helpful!

My son was married here last night. What an amazing venue!!! Fantastic view. Wonderful staff to accommodate our needs. Big shout out to our event planner, Michelle, a true professional and problem solver. So much to do and will definitely come back when we have time to take in more the Center has to offer as well as the surrounding local artisans.

Beiatiful place with a lot of things to do. There is an aquarium, candy store downstairs and a koi pond on the roof with great views of the city . There is a museum to. The first floor and the roof is free. You to pay for the other stuff. There is 6 floors in total. A greet place to visit

When here on a weekday afternoon in the winter time just to be inside and kill some time.Enjoyed looking at the many aquariums, seeing jellyfish close up was real cool!The butterfly area was closed for winter and the koi pond on the roof was frozen.Would like to come back here when the weather is nicer and see the beautiful gardens.

I like turtles. The Center In The Square did not disappoint! In a time where the guaranteed turtles of Roanokes Lakewood Park are hibernating its comforting to know I can get my turtle fix downtown. Plus there is amazing Trinkle Theater, Candy Store, the Science Museum of Western VA, The Pinball Museum and the Starcade arcade. I highly recommend checking it out.

Very educational and lots to see amd do for the kiddos. The aquariums John Carlin and his boys created are pretty amazing as well.

The woman attending the parking garage was extremely rude as she would rather play on her phone than do her job. We asked her how to get into the building & she directed us to the main entrance which is abt a block away. We walked down there in the pouring rain only to find out it was closed, with no reasoning for why is was closed on a random Monday.

With something for everyone and for all ages, Center In The Square is a Treasure in the heart of the Star City of the South! From fascinating aquariums and museums to live Theatre. If the Rooftop is open, dont miss the chance for great photo ops!

Very relaxing atmosphere in Raleigh! Ran into several people along the square that were not only friendly, but seemed genuinely interested in what you had to say and gave excellent ideas of things to do and experience while in the area. There were loads of little shops around perfect for browsing or looking for great little gifts. Also a lot of tasty restaurant options for any meal!

One of the must see places to go to for food, drinks, and entertainment if youre ever in the Roanoke, VA area. Plenty of great businesses nearby including the Science and Aquatic museums. The place is not too busy on a weekday

Very nice place to take the kids, but tbh the bathrooms and floors are nasty, the janitor services there seem to be non existent, the carpets are filthy with stains. And the janitor is very loud and cussing all the time when he’s talking to the guard at night at the desk. I went to ask what I thought was the information person and it was the janitor and he was very rude with how he explained things, and I could smell alcohol on his breath.

Awesome place to spend time with the family. I will be back on my next trip for sure.

I went to the pinball museum for an After Prom hosted there, and was glad to see the kids enjoy all it had to offer. Despite being behind the times old games still have great appeal to todays youth. I had fun too

Art and culture... Fun and social gathering. Rooftop views and several bars ...based on the event. BUT, if the event us popular , expect long bar lines..Long food lines. Overall, a nice place for a standing night out.

Former Roanoker...Visited from Orlando on 10/10/2019. Downtown seems much better than from what I remember from 2001. Took my 6yr daughter to Kids Square. Paid $50 for the both of us. Ticket covered three locations (Kids Square, Starcade, and Pinball). I wanted to do the museum as well, but glad I didnt pay extra for that as I wouldnt have had enough time to enjoy. Daughter loved Kids Square. Went on a Thursday so it was fairly queit. Arcade was fun for the both of us. By the time we went to play pinballs near the end of the night, my daughter was burned out and wasnt really interested... I had fun though and loved their selection. Highly recommend!

There is a LOT happening down here; didnt do much research before my detour here so I didnt know the main building closes at 5. There are still a lot of bars, restaurants, and shops around it though.

Went to see Sound of Music. Very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful

A little bit of everything. Stop in and see. Downtown parking is ridiculous in cost and availability, but that is not the Centers fault.

Absolutely love this place. The kids zone was hours of fun for my two littles. The starcade was incredible.

Be ware of the homelessness population. It has gotten bad. Otherwise had a good time. There is a wonderful a candy shop near by with strange and fun candies in side. Cheek it out.

Its great place to go with family or just friends to see different levels they have. Also its great to do weddings or large events on top the roof for special day and the view is amazing too!

Great place. There are lots of great museums here. Most of them are kid friendly too. It is almost a mall for museums. There is at least one on every floor sometimes more than one. On the bottom floor for absolutely free you can look at fish tanks and mini aquariums. For free you can also go on the roof and there are fish up there too. Also on the top there are neat things like a little wall made out of plants. You can also see a really neat view of the city from right on the middle of the city. I would recommend spending a day here enjoying all of the neat museums.

Great place for the kids at the Science Museum. A few disappointments, tho. No butterflies to be found on the garden, a number of Aquatic items not cleaned in a long time, air machine for playing ball has one air vent broken. Lady at the touching pond was very nice and knowledgeable. Ladies at 4th floor desk nice enough but not that attentive. It was nice, ok just not maintained well.

Absolutely love the pinball arcade! Great memories and loads of fun.

Great for all ages. They have small aquarium tanks. The roof top koi pond and an event area. They also have a variety of museums for kids they charge admission too and they even offer packages to do multiple which is great if you want to make this a day trip! This is a great place for adults as well they have the pinball museum and starcade where its all you can play! I cant wait to go back.The only problem is the homeless crowded around begging for money it has gotten so bad down there.

Amazing wedding venue overlooking Roanoke!

I attended a wedding on the rooftop and it was amazing!! They have a beautiful setup and a view of downtown Roanoke. It was a very pleasant experience

Parking is hard for St. Patricks day. Getting tickets for the Play is easy.

Ssssoooo much fun! I make sure to make it down here on a saturday when we are in-town. There are so many fun vendors and stores to go in. My Mother bought some Chicken Of Woods (a mushroom) from one of the vendors and boy was it good. So many restuarants to try, so I guess I have to keep coming back

Needed to kill time before meeting family for dinner and enjoyed walking around the square. Also visited the rooftop to see the view - all a nice way to spend some time without spending money!

Fun place to go with kids.... Kids Square is an awesome Museum So is pinball Museum. The fish tanks in the atrium are for free. Plan to stay hours with family for this fun place

Very disapointed went to see butterfly area. When we bought tickets we indicated we came to see butterflies and they sold tickets without indicating that butterfly area was closed.

Too many homeless people and crackheads. I really dont know how it is allowed.

With memberships at the Science Museum of Western Virginia and Kids Zone, this is a great place to take small kids throughout the week, in any weather, any time of year. Very clean and safe with lots to do and see!

This place has a fantastic aquarium, the only issue I have is that the museum should be free to the tax paying citizens. The ground floor was freely accessible, but the other parts of the museum wasnt. Since Im from DC, Im use to visiting museums in Washington, DC for free.

I love the rooftop of CITS. It offers great views of downtown Roanoke and has a nice modern design. I also love the aquarium on the ground floor. The architecture is beautiful and every floor of the building offers something new to explore.

They have something for everyone from children to senior citizens. We visit here quite often with our 5 year old and she begs for weeks to go back.

My daughter loves kids square.

The childrens museum is great, though the butterfly exhibit is lackluster. The hands-on horseshoe crab exhibit was spectacular, especially with the information shared by the museum attendant at that station.
