Great location for a show. I have seen rock bands, EDM, Spoken word, and straight up punk at Cargo. You cant go wrong, no matter your musical taste. Plus, I always stay at the Whitney Peak after the show, so I never have to drive anywhere.

Great small but not too small venue. Nice bar, small selection on beer. But a good selection of liquors. Pictures shows about half of the venue.

Easily the best venue in Reno not counting the GSR. Hopefully more bands keep coming. Only thing I really dont care for is finding parking as it is downtown. But the venue is straight forward. I love coming here for the metal shows.

The venue was very wide open and not at all crowded. The stage and sound system were adequate as well. Also, there is a very long bar and drink prices were far more kind than another nearby spot.I had a ton of fun at the Dragonforce show!

It’s pretty much the only venue in Reno where good shows are at and it is fun. Beware though- bartending staff is totally mean! The old guy threw a wet towel at the person next to me because they were trying to clear ice cubes off of an area of the bar. He also yelled a ton of profanity at me because I mis-worded the name of a drink. I’m sure he was just having a rough night but it was a huge damper on the experience I had. I was there 11/21

The Whitney Peak hotel staff waters down their alcohol. Im a notorious lightweight and I felt nothing after 4 hard vodka rum mixed drinks, doubles to boot.

I was at the cargo for a death metal show. I just wanna say thank you to the staff. It was a great experience. I will be back.

A great little intimate venue, you cant get any closer to your favorite bands

Security needs to be put in check. They act like thugs and treat others so poorly. Poor ventilation, and it seems that the venue just cares about money, not the actual patrons. Id rather drive for four hours to see a show out of state then go here...

This is a moderately sized venue with decent sound quality. Drinks are well-made at average prices. I liked the show I saw here but the floors were so gross that my pants turned black at the bottom.

Nice but a suggestion would be maybe some stand up tables and another row of bench on the commercial side. But good sound and friendly staff :)

I ate breakfast at the restaurant this morning. I was very impressed with the way they serve their Coffee and cream. The omelette I ordered was also large and was reasonably priced. Very nice restaurant, server was genuine.

I have been to the cargo many times but have never had such a poor experience like I did at the last show. My boyfriend is 23 and I am 19. As soon as we got into the venue he had gotten drinks at the bar and we had met by the front entrance. He needed to tie his shoe so he handed me his drink to hold onto so he could do that. As soon as the drink entered my hand security had shoved both of us out of the door. I am 5’3 110 pounds and was manhandled by the tallest security guy there who must’ve been over 6 feet tall. There was no need to be forceful, we were not being violent in any way and we’re confused why we were suddenly shoved outside. I kept asking what the problem was and telling them that I did not drink anything from the drinks. They obviously were watching me since they had shoved us out so quickly so they know that I did not consume any of it. All they told me was “I don’t care you can’t even touch them”. Then the head of security proceeded to scream at me like a child in front of everyone including staff and people attending causing a huge scene. He was being extremely immature and unprofessional. I asked to speak to a manager and he refused to get him for me. At this point I was so upset I was in tears that we were being humiliated and treated like this. He was about to call the cops on us and make this into an even bigger deal than it was. He continued screaming at us, especially me, and wouldn’t let me get a single word in. We eventually walked away from him and stood at the entrance to the hotel. A lady who was calm and understanding of the situation said that she would get a manager for us. The manager came out and told us that we can’t go back in and we had to leave. He was nice and told us that whatever show we wanted to go to next time he would give us free tickets too. I was still extremely upset after that encounter with the head of security and what they had decided to do. The show hadn’t even started yet and they must’ve been bored. There are people doing hardcore drugs at these things but they throw both of us out just because of that? Are you serious? Did they expect him to put it on the filthy ground and have someone spill it? Or give it to a stranger who is over 21 and slip who knows what in it? I am very disappointed in the cargo and their staff. I thought that their way of handling the situation was very unnecessary. I appreciate the free tickets but we were not upset because we couldn’t get a refund. We had been waiting to see these artists for months, and they stole our experience over something so little. Next time, give people who are in this situation a warning rather than going after the wrong issues. I hope that their our consequences for their actions and that something is done to change the way they operate. It is not worth wasting my time, energy, or money when the night can turn out that stressful. We will not be returning any time soon.

Enjoyed concert . Nice place very clean

Its always too hot at the shows. If you dont spend $2 on water you might overheat. I like that they have a coat check because you definitely dont want to have a sweatshirt in there. Nice soundsystem and usually staff is decently friendly. Being the only smaller concert hall in Reno forces you to go there but the local show throwers definitely bring great acts.

This is a perfect venue. Small, yet roomy venue with an up close and personal feel to the performance you are watching. Clean restrooms and fair drink prices for a venue. I will definitely attend more events here.

Great concert hall. Its small, personal, nice and the sound was fantastic. Good clean bass you could feel all while not drowning out the mids and highs. Plus no matter where you are in the room you can see the stage and you are close to the band. I will return here in the future.

My favorite place to stay in Reno! No casino no smoking and they welcome pets. Concert venue frequently host amazing shows for a reasonable price. Only negative is that the restaurant has always been mediocre, especially for Reno that has such amazing food. Did not hold that against the hotel.

Good venue for downtown Reno. Not too many choices these days but I always preferred Cargo due to the better acoustics than Knitting Factory. Just wish these guys would continue booking more frequent talent, especially midweek. Drink prices arent extravagant for a venue, either.

Went for the nothing more concert. Ended up leaving with a badly bruised kidney. Metal concerts have crowds that can be hit and miss that way. Sometimes the mood is mature and sometimes people suck. But none of that is controllable by the staff. Im giving 3 stars for the lack of help by security. To their credit they did promptly eject the person we had issues with from the venue. But they failed to realize a possible medical emergency. I had to get myself to the ER and they told me it was good I got there when I did. The bands were pretty great though

Cool intimate venue in the middle of everything

1st time there. My feeling about place was Coolio, nice little venue in downtown Reno. Right next to Reno Arches. Service of bartenders was quite good for getting refills of your favorite drinks. Seem to have it down. It wasnt too long to get in once the doors opened. There will be a line during most shows. Venue is located next to the major casinos, walking distance back to your hotel. Next show for me is Y&T...

Small venue, great variety of bands, concert floor standing only, good time. It would be nice if they did a better job cleaning the floors in the bathrooms. Particularly when there are multiple concerts in a week, cleaning tens not to happen.

Poorly ran venue that demonstrates a lack of management experience. Any popular show the average wait time is at least an hour. The venue itself is a concrete room with nothing aesthetic to offer. The bar staff is great once you are actually able to get inside and its usually easy to get drinks because everyone is still outside. Sure miss the Knitting Factory.

This is a big improvement on the other venues around town. I hope they stick around.

If I didnt want to see the band that was playing there as bad as I did, I would have been completely disgusted with the whole thing. The band is the only reason I gave 2 stars. The sound is hands down the worst Ive ever heard and the staff is only slightly tolerable. I went on a Monday night and it wasnt completely sold out, so I cant imagine trying to stuff their 1000 person capacity into that room. Unless theres a band that you just have to see, I would recommend a hard pass on this venue.

Great & easy venue to see a show. Ive been to two different shows at Cargo now, both very last minute & both experiences have been excellent with easy parking, getting tix, etc. Cargo is an excellent venue!

The band was awesome, but the staff are horrible. I wont be going back.Security guys padding us down and the ticket seller coming in were both horrible to interact with. During the show, security spotted someone smoking. The person was not being violent. Instead of asking the person to leave, the security guy immediately grabbed the girl by her arm and dragged her out of the venue.I tried to use the ATM, it gave me an error code. Today I had the charge on my account but never received the cash. 2 bartenders for the entire venue so if you wanted to pay for an overpriced drink, you had to wait in line for an entire set.Ive been to this venue a few times and its getting worse.

Party time! This place holds awsome events with an amazing sound system lights and staff. Not my favorite place to hang but not bad at all!

I absolutely love this establishment. It is on the smaller side for the names they pull in, but its one of the few that will hold edm shows in the area. You can tell that each member of the staff has a lot of experience in their field. The female securities could stand to be a little nicer, but the attitudes are understandable for the amounts of people they deal with. I feel safe in this environment but also dont feel like the security is helcoptering around. The light and sound shows never cease to amaze me with each new show. Reasonably priced and has sone good amenities like a coat check and a merch room. Please though, Cargo... look into getting some type of enclosure for the line on cold nights. I know its at our own descretion to go to these winter shows, but it is crazy cold in that line lol.

A great venue, kept much cooler than most concert venues. The stage is easy to view from all locations.

This place is one of the most poorly operated venues Ive ever seen. Buying tickets at the door? Be prepared to pay $10 or more above the at the door price listed on their website. False advertising? You mean profit opportunity!The last show I went to they closed off the smoking area to open another ticketing line, causing the smokers to light up inside. So much for non-smoking. Im not sure what fire code is for that building, but judging by how crowded it was, Im sure they exceeded it. As a combat veteran, having people constantly pushing on me from all sides (even at the edges and back of the room) tends to make me crazy. Because of that I left just before the headliner took the stage. I had to fight just to get out the doors, as the bouncers were standing in front of them on the outside. Then I had to fight through the crowd trying to get in. There was still a line of around 100 people, with tickets, fighting to get in when the headliner took the stage.

Its. Relatively small venue but great to go see. Show at. The small venue lets you be relatively close to the stage even in the back.

Too tiny of a venue to hold the events they do half the time. Understaffed for bartenders always so good luck trying to fight your way through a crowd of 15 people deep all the way all round the bar just to try to get a bottled water (of course over priced like everything else here)

This DJ is horrible. Doors opened at 7 and the DJ has been playing 15 second songs changing them and non stop talking over the music clips. Its 930 and no music. Very disappointed. This is the worst DJ I have ever heard. Were not very disappointed, were extremely disappointed. We would love to get our money back if we could.

Excellent sound system

Went to see the Violent Femmes but the opening act was no good, could barely hear her over the crowd. The main band had poor sound quality as well. The HVAC system couldnt keep up either and we had to leave half way through the show since it was too hot. For a newer venue, they should have a better sound system and better control of the temperature.

Fantastic dining experance, food was exquisite and service was great.

Overall the space is OK, drinks are reasonably priced and the talent thats booked it good. Main downside is the sound quality is not very good, often times is difficult to hear and tends to sound drowned out.

Its the only rave venue in Reno...

Worst concert venue ever.Way over priced drinks.Horrible bartenders that dont deserve tips.Sounds sucks.Security is on a Power Trip. Kicks you out for no reason after the show. Act like they are tough and took 3 of them to put one guy in a sleeper hold to carry out. They think thier badges are real and not rent a cops. Definitely would not go back for another show. Everyone I know of that has been there has not been happy with them. Would not recommend. I would give zero stars if I could.

Went their for a Mike Stud concert. Drinks are expensive but location is great, and sound is incredible. Way better than the knitting factory.
