As of March 2020, this entrance is closed, and there remains some construction at the park.Unlike a previous reviewer, I did not note any homeless encampments during a recent visit, and the short, 1.7-mile out and back trail from the alternative entrance remains a pleasant journey, with surprisingly nice views and air coming in from the bay, despite a portion of the trail going alongside highway 101.

Nice open space, but right now is in the middle of construction so everything is gravel, no signs, some Homeless encampments with noticeable piles of trash. Very little birds..etc..but u you can see some in the distance. Definitely NO BATHROOMS NOR WATER TO DRINK. Bring your own.Hopefully it gets better...
