Came in a few days ago with my wife for Restaurant Week and everything was exceptional. We had the shrimp and grits, shrimp platter, and alligator bites which were all on point. The food was good and our service was even better. Cameron or Carmen (can’t remember but something close to that) was our server and she happily answered all of our questions, gave us wonderful food/drink recommendations, and was on top of all of our needs. Wonderful experience and will be returning!

Where do I begin? The atmosphere one only found in this restaurant and the food and drinks only improve on the experience. I’ve attended on late weekend nights and recently for an enjoyable dinner and drinks and am always pleasantly surprised with the drink specials they offer and delicious bites. From a Margarita to a Strawberry smash I couldn’t stop sipping and literally their whole menu is delicious. The last time we went I noticed our server seemed to be having the worst night of her career as I observed her at the POS and behind the bar, but she did not let that get in the way of giving us prompt service and greeting us with a smile every time.

Our waitress was great Shannon was great. Im giving it 3 stars because it took an unusually long time for our entrees to arrive and when they did we discovered out grilled chops were under cooked. The garlic mash and green beans were excellent. I think if the chops were properly cooked this meal would have been great. It is restaurant week so maybe they were understaffed in the kitchen for the crowd. If youre in Raleigh, NC give it a go.

Enjoyed the atmosphere, the music, and most definitely the food! I had a shrimp Poboy. I typically dont eat shrimp or PoBoys but it was recommended to me by the owner and Im recommending it to you! Delicious. The green beans taste fresh and are well cooked and seasoned. The Mac and cheese was not a baked style but had a good consistency. I recommend both. The jambalaya was tasty and the Salmon had a little cajun spice to it but tasted great. I have to say the service did not disappoint and I clearly enjoyed my dinner. It was a pleasant surprise because the only reason I chose this place was because of later hours it was open on a Monday. Glad I did!

Looking for a nice place in Raleigh to swing by for lunch? Come here! I highly recommend it. There were many options from seafood to a simple grilled cheese! I personally recommend the crab cake sandwich. You think your life was complete? No. It isnt, until you try this sandwich. I forgot the sauce on it, but it can be a bit strong and overwhelming, so I recommend eating the sandwich with the lettuce and the sauce, or just no sauce if your not into overpowering flavors. Anyways, the interior is extremely nice, with a very rustic vibe going, and not to mention the bar. I cant drink alcohol, but if you can, there is a place to do it whilst chomping down on your delicious food! There are many seats and the restrooms are very cleanly as well. I highly recommend this to anybody! Also. The fries are heavenly.

The atmosphere and the service are great before the DJ started. If youre going to have a DJ, make sure (s)hes good at it. Drinks: Pineapple Dragon something Delicious; Strawberry margaritas Meh. Appetizers: Stuffed shrimp Delicious; Crab poppers Meh. Entrees:Chicken and Sausage gumbo a disaster it was a bowl of gravy tasted like they made it in the microwave I only had one piece of sausage and chicken. Lobster ravioli was delicious I would have preferred a little more salt. I still give it 4 stars for the atmosphere, service, some of what we ordered was Delicious, and they didnt charge me for the nasty gumbo. We would have stayed longer and drank more, but the DJ was awful.

This is not up to the hype. Ordered the pimento cheese and bacon burger and it was so plain, the meat itself had zero seasoning on it. The pimento was disappointing at best. However, the onion rings (which are not made in house) were good. For a restaurant with such a great spot downtown I expected a lot more real cooking and much better flavors. Unfortunately, the front end staff was a wreck also sitting in the front window on their phones. It was very unwelcoming and unprofessional. If you choose to give this place a shot anyway, ask for Darius! He is at the Bar, but he also takes on some tables near the bar.... the best part of the place. Darius is A+

We initially went to The Big Easy because we saw on their website that they have a DJ on Thursday nights & do a “Throwback Thursday”set starting at 10pm, with $4 well drinks. We got there around 9:40pm. The restaurant was freezing cold & there were only 3 other people seated at the bar. No DJ. No drink specials. Asked the server about it & he said they didn’t do it anymore, they need to update the website ASAP. The space is beautiful, the ambiance is nice... they could get a huge crowd in there if they marketed right to to the right people. 2 doors down was packed, had people waiting in line to get in. The food was greasy, Fries were cold, shrimp & oysters were fried too hard but the seasoning was good. We won’t go back until they revamp.

This was a rare find in Raliegh NC. While we were at GalaxyCon, we were walking around downtown tying to find somewhere to eat. Google found it for us and I cant say Im disappointed. I had their Cajun pasta with shrimp... DELICIOUS! And my husband had the Jambalaya... hes says it was awesome! We both had the crab cake appetizer and I must say, from a person who is not normally a crab fan, it was mighty tasty. It has a little out-of-the-way small pub feel, and the staff were very friendly. Fantastic vibe here. Good food with a Creole flair. My wife had she-crab soup, and it was delightful, the way we are up eating it. We split some oysters Rockefeller, and they were good, but a bit too lemony for me. BUT - they came with flash-fried sounds, yummy which I absolutely love. It was out of this world. My daughter had a burger and fries that she raved about. I had the Taste of Louisiana, which included gumbo, jambalaya, red beans & rice, and fried shrimp. It was delicious, but I would have enjoyed more shrimp (they were incredible!) and the jambalaya was but more tomato-ey (and therefore sweeter) than I make it. We finished with beignets, which were so, so good. I also had some good craft beer - there a decent local selection. If you enjoy Cajun food or seafood, check this place out!

This is about as authentic as it gets, a Cajun restaurant that actually knows how to bring the heat! The shrimp creole had great flavor and enough spice that I didnt have to douse it with hot sauce just to get a taste of home. We always start with the alligator bites, lightly breaded and tender, served with a zingy remoulade. Unfortunately I have to call them out on service, because they brought the appetizer and entrees at the same time. We had skipped lunch and were hungry, so it didnt matter. I never post reviews, but this is a special case. This was honestly the worst experience Ive ever had at a restaurant. We walked in at 9:20pm on a Sunday. They close at 2am. I was greeted by someone at the hostess stand who told me oh I dont work here, the hostess hasnt come back yet but you can sit anywhereWe sat directly in the front. 25 minutes go by and no one has come over to us yet. We had to flag down a waitress to order drinks and ask for a food menu. Another 25 minutes went by when the waitress finally comes back and gives us a late night menu that starts at 10pm (mind you we got there at 9:20).At that point, we paid for our drinks and left to go order pizza in the hotel room. Honestly, it was disappointing since my party was visiting the city for the first time. Im sure the food is good, but I wouldnt know because I never got that far.
