You know you’ve come to the right place the moment you walk in....Wether you’re looking for gear or just starting off into Archery this is where you want to be. I began with their Archery 101 course and was immediately impressed with the wealth of knowledge that John and Lesley brought to the table. You can trust without any doubt they have your best intentions in mind and will guide you down whichever path you find yourself in the world of Archery. I’ll be starting the adult courses on Tuesdays and couldn’t be happier I found this great place to start my adventure and continue to hone my skills. Thanks John and Lesley, you rock!!

My friends and I are new to Archery, and all staff here treated us very well over several visits. Even though we likely looked like fools, overconfident in our opinions we got on the internet, John (and John) treated us with respect and patience as we worked through what we really wanted and needed for our first bows. We felt no sales pressure, and the process was very chill. They have a comfortable couch and chairs which were clutch for our family as we waited for bows to be set up and adjusted. We came on a very busy night and then also on a slower mid-day, and both times we had a place to sit and wait as needed. Two of us have pretty significant physical disabilities, and John seamlessly helped us select bows and equipment that worked for us, without any feeling of us being coddled or overprotected, and certainly without any feeling of being overlooked or underestimated.Very cool people run First Flight, and it will likely be our spot for many years to come.

My wife and I got our son a bow for Christmas because he had fun learning about them in scouts. There arent too many spots that Ive found to go shooting at yet, but I was happy I found this place.First Flight is primarily an archery store. They have all the fun things you would expect- including very helpful staff. The range is an indoor archery range located in the back of the shop. It has 20 spaces for folks to line up and shoot at targets. From the red line to the wall is 20 yards. There are also large targets on wheels that can be moved closer if youre new to the sport.Everyone who was shooting was nice. They all focus on what theyre doing, but they are all intent on safety too. When everyone has shot their arrows, there is a pause and someone calls clear so we can retrieve arrows. There arent any bows to rent so youll need your own to shoot. This was great for my son- he had a blast and wants to go regularly.

John and Dalton were great to work with! Came in with a price point and bow in mind and they encouraged me to shoot 5-6 different bows and pick the one that felt the best. I went ahead and followed and was glad that I did. The bow I thought I wanted ranked low on the ones I tried after shooting. Ended up going with the Mathews Vertix and couldn’t be happier. They spent the time and made sure I was set up correctly and made the process fun. Would highly recommend First Flight for all your archery needs. Great selection too.

Heard about this place from my dad, who’s an avid bow hunter. Was not impressed. The customer service was less than mediocre as the tall thin fellow acted as if my money wasn’t green b/c of my complexion. Guess I’ll be buying 2 bows and accessories from somewhere else where The rude demeanor was very prevalent and was not appreciated given the environment and audience. Walking away from what was to be a customer while mid statement is evidence enough in how much you wanted my business. I’m just making others aware of the situation from my perspective while accompanied by my children. Thank you for the lack of professionalism and southern hospitality.

I have used First Flight to restring my bow and have bought a few accessories over the years. Yesterday I took my adult son in to get his crossbow restrung. My son wanted to look at a compound bow and John showed him a new entry level bow that gets him started without breaking the bank. Today we went back in and my son purchased his first compound bow and they could not have been more helpful in getting everything set up and fitted. He was super excited as we left the store and said, thats why you need to shop at a local bow shop and not a big chain store! I highly recommend First Flight if you are just starting out in archery or if you are a seasoned veteran....they take care of you!

Im a beginning traditional shooter with a used bow who stopped by looking the shop looking to pick up a set of arrows. Despite the fact that I wasnt there to spend boatloads of money, the bow technician who helped me, wish I could remember his name, was extremely helpful and patient with my questions. I had a rough estimate on my draw length and the bows draw weight, and he checked these on my request. He recommended a decent carbon arrow I could target shoot and also, eventually, use for hunting. Id also been looking for a three under tab and picked one up on his recommendation. After shooting the arrows, his recommendation was spot on. My groups are immediately consistent. Looking forward to visiting First Flight in the future.

I went to First Flight Archery for bow repair. The man who assisted me John seemed to speak down to me for purchasing a product he didnt recommend. He made me feel like it was my fault that the equipment didnt function and that I should have known better. Regardless of that fact, he proceeded to lecture me in a very degrading way that I shouldnt have used the product I purchased on Amazon. Furthermore, he than explained that I was going about archery the wrong way in that wood recurve bows should not have scope attachments made for composites. This product was sold to work well with my recurve by another vendor. The product was somewhat faulty in its design, but that wasnt my fault. He continued to lecture me as he was repairing the bow. He did the bare minimum for the repair and told me I should fix the rest of the bow myself by adding washers on the attachment (which he didnt provide). Than he charged me $16.00 for 5 minutes worth of work. I was very disappointed. I left with a bow that was still unfixed, a lecture on how dumb I was to purchase something which by all accounts was recommended to me and I had to pay him for it. I will not recommend anyone do business with First Flight Archery. One further note, John also implied that he could instruct me how to be a better archer by taking lessons from him. He had the audacity to seek more of my business after insulting me previously. I hope no one patronizes this guy in the future for bow purchases, lessons or repairs unless they want to be made to feel stupid for not being as experienced as John.

Not only did it take 3 weeks to put it on. They chraged me a 180 bucks. I shot it one time last deer season and put it up till this season. Shot it 20 times last weekend to sight it in and the string is coming all to pieces! So I took it back to them. They told me my bow was junk and I should buy a new one from them ($330.00). They should have never put a string on a junk crossbow to begin with! Thats just DISHONEST GREEDY business! Never will I spend any of my hard earned money at this store again.

Im not sure if this is just one in a thousand, but my bow got restrung here and was completely messed up when I got it back. Peep wouldnt stop rotating, had to be adjusted every 2-3 shots. He did say I could bring it back to have it fixed if it was an issue, but I also noticed the arrow wasnt parallel at full draw and my fletchings were no longer clearing my rest, and it obviously wasnt shooting nearly as well as it had been. I ended up taking it in to another bow shop around here and was shown just how off everything was. Nocking point was too high, arrow rest was too low, and cams were out of tune slightly. Its fixed and shooting great again. Im sure he does a good job overall, given his other reviews. My experience just missed the mark. The 2 stars are for the big indoor range shop has. Good place to shoot. In response to the owner, I fully believe he would have fixed everything, but we were in the middle of a move, so I didnt have the time to run up there and get it fixed when there was another bow shop that was closer. The reason I drove all the way up there in the first place was because of all the great reviews he received. As for the break-in period, I shot about 400-500 shots through the bow, so I was well past the break-in period, which I was told was maybe 50-60 shots. As I said, Im sure he does great work, and he would have corrected the issue, but this was just my experience. From the overall rating, Im sure my experience was an anomaly.

I have visited my fair share of niche hobby retailers, however, and I have to say that Mr. and Mrs. Winker have made this very specialized, very specific space as inviting as its possible to be to a brand new archer.Theyre kind and courteous; theyre happy to answer question after question after question; their introductory class took me from zero to invested archer in 59 minutes; you just cant go wrong.Ive only been in this shop three times, but one phone call and three visits have me looking forward to a lot more time on the archery range, and to six more classes under the proprietors tutelage.Furthermore, Im left-handed and tall - not only does FFA have plenty of merchandise on the shelf for me, theyve got student gear on the racks that I can use -- my intro class had like four left-handed people, and it was no sweat!Plus, the cokes in the machine are only a buck twenty five for a 20z!
