This is the most goth place I have ever been. The vibe is really on point with smoke and people dressed as ghosts. It is cash only so keep that in minfld. There is a US bank in walking distance. The people who work there are deticated to the place and it shows. I saw three bands and a spoken word poet. I highly recommend.

Halloween night was pretty fun here. Small space, but the vibe is great. The performers were delightful and had a good goth night of dancing. Plus tasty absinthe drinks!

An intimate & quirky arts space that feels welcoming to their patrons and supportive of their artists. More cities should have these kind of underground venues.

This is an awesome small space that does a little of everything. Follow them on FB to see upcoming events and to RSVP. Bar is cash only and it is an artist space run by artists. Definitely worth checking out some of the weird and unique things coming out of here.

Amazing little venue with delicious drinks, great performers, and excellent hosts/staff who volunteer to make it all possible. Everything is cash only so come prepared and tip well if possible to help these guys continue putting on great events! We had so much fun and cant wait for the next #Nightcarnival!

Theres nowhere in Portland (or on Earth) like Steep and Thorny. Such a wondrous, imaginative, welcoming, magical space, run by generous, intelligent, visionary, intensely creative humans who possess more integrity and heart than most people Ive ever met. So much love for this venue.

One of the bright spots in the Portland underground art scene. The genuine article, a bohemian gem hidden among the bridges and warehouses of the eastside industrial district. Beautiful, intimate, heartfelt performances on stage, an audience of costumed misfits and mad artists, a cocktail bar with an ever-changing menu... I cant recommend it enough. Theres still room for you on the dance floor. Come join the fun.

A inclusive space of creativity and art. They put on quality shows of high caliber. They are involved with and support the local community. The place is intimate and comfortable and the drinks are just as interesting and good as the shows.

You have to see a play here if you are at all interested in the cultural offerings of Portland. Regardless of your interest in theater, if you are wondering how Portland was before it was cool, if youre claiming to have moved here for the culture, or if you just need something to do tonight - go to this theater company. Pro tip, arrive early to get a good seat.

This is one of the gems of the Portland arts scene. The plays, parties, performances, and variety shows here are one-of-a-kind, and you won’t find kinder, more dedicated management anywhere. Plus, the drinks are often clever and always good.

Hauntingly beautiful venue hosting diverse avant-garde acts: music, movement artists, contemporary vaudeville, etc., as well as absolutely innovative and engrossing theater. I loved, loved, loved their Halloween carnival. Open, safe, and respectful space, too.

Overpriced, cash only drinks and you could only pick from a half dozen gross house specials. Tiny room, no seating, and while I have no problems with the sexual nature of the performances, they were disappointingly lacking that sexy diversity that I, personally, crave. Typical white male dom and white, skinny submissive girl. Maybe their other performances are less boring and bland, but I was hoping for something a little spicier. At once trying too hard and not enough. No one working the crowd to bring up the atmosphere, awkward, jerking it in the corner vibe. Not a friendly, open environment at all. Very disappointed that I spent so much on a ticket for so lackluster an experience. Its just a grimy hole in the wall for mining money from horny drunks.
