This place is the highlight of me weekend. My daughter and I started with the parent and me class, and have been enjoying going here for over a year, and a half. It’s a great environment for kids, lots of fun, and great exercise for kids & adults. Come check it out, and will see ya on the ice.

The Lloyd center ice rink has a lot of ups and downs but I personally think its a fun place to go whether its hot or cold outside. During the winter season it can be fairly crowded depending on the time of day and what day of the week it is. In the summer the rink isnt as crowded and its a nice place to chill during the hot summer days. The rink is fairly small in size and the ice itself isnt very good but the staff maintain it to the best of their abilities. Every single one of the staff members are very nice trained employees who will help you in anything you need, theyll even tie your skates if you or someone else needs assistance. The rink is a very sanitary place even when there are a lot of people. Prices are fairly high at the rink and I recommend going on Fridays and Saturdays at 6pm during rock and skate because prices are lower then. Also during rock and skate there is a DJ where you can write down a song you like and hell play it for you! Some people love this place and some people dont. If you do decide to skate here youll have to pay a fairly big penny to get in but its worth it because youll have a load of fun.

This place is great. The staff are helpful, friendly, and do a great job at looking after everybody which are only a few of the reasons why my son and I have for really enjoying this place.Plus the exclusive private restrooms are a nice touch. And I really like the “don’t skate in front of the ice truck” sticker on the front of the “engo.”Update: This place is still great.

Visiting Portland w my 10-yr-old son, googled prices for ice skating, it said $12. Took my son up to buy his tickets and it was $17 +$4 for skate rental ($21).When I showed the employee my phone and the info on Google he said, oh, you cant trust Google.Whatever.We didnt skate.

Great place to bring a group after normal rink/mall hours to pay Broomball. Friendly staff and they provide all the equipment. Call for pricing and make sure you park on the North side on the first floor of the NE Halsey St parking structure. The mall closed at 8 and the after hours exit was only out the North doors onto the first floor of the Halsey St parking.

Fun place to skate but when it gets busy it sucks the fun right out of it especially when your more advanced skaters are on the ice weaving in and out of people and breaking through others hands on purpose I was helping teach my 9 yr old to skate when this one in particular kid went through our hands a few times almost making us fall and he did this all night to everyone I also know he is a regular because I see him there every time we go and nothing is said to this kid who is old enough to know better like 17-19 yrs old I understand they have just as much of a right as we do to have fun but safe fun not being inconsiderate fun

And it is super cheap and it is not expensive place to be at all. I really love it and it is a fun place to be at, so take it form me. and just go have fun. :-)

Absolute rip off! My daughter and her nanny went there today to skate for one hour. They had to pay $20 each which is ridiculous to begin with, then they were told they had to wait for the ice to be cleared which took a good amount of time so by the time the ice was ready we paid $40 for a half hour to ice skate. Enjoy that money, its the last penny we will ever spend there! How do you people justify taking advantage of people that way?

I skated at this rink in the 70s. It was much bigger and nearly if not Olympic size. Today it looks like a little pond. I feel sorry for those people who think this is a great rink, because they dont know any better. Take your money to a different rink. The picture for this rink is from before the renovation. Thanks for replying. So, what is the size of the current rink? It seems to me that you traded rink size for retail space. Your argument that a smaller rink is more fun is ridiculous.

We had a very bad customer service experience this morning when we were trying to buy skates. At the first, we were told that for better assist us, we’d come back about 45 minutes. After the class, we were there wait until most of everyone was gone; we waited the employees to organized skates; then we finally decided to go to the counter. However, the two employees were too enjoying their conversation; finally, we got attention from third one. When we started asking questions about sizes and prices, the “gentlemen” acts like impatient. We felt we were not respected because of our race. I was mad and stop the buying and yelled “what kind of customer service you provide?” He acted like innocent “I just tried to help”. I would like to ask” try to help? How? Sitting there to talk? Impatient with questions? Or you just don’t like to talk to us(Asian)” we will finish the class that we sign up because we paid for it, but we never come back.Reply to the owner:Thank you for caring and launching the investigation; however, you concluded the incident thoughtlessly. It sounds ridiculous that you and your employees blame on me that I asked too many questions to cause confusion.I would love to ask “how many questions that you would consider as too many?” The questions that I asked were: size for the white pink one on the top shelf, the female employee said size smaller than regular shoes; then size for the white one that sit on the third shelf; the male employee said that he doesn’t think he has the size for the style I want, and said the only one fits would be the one sit one second shelf at hundred something. The third question was how about the pink and white one? (I went back to ask the first one). You said he was going to check size for me? Yes! However, in reality, according to his voice tone and body language, he was Not willing to do so. He was so impatient. If you think the incident is acceptable from your point of view, I HAVE NO QUESTIONS ANYMORE . If this is your customer service standards. I AM OK WITH THAT WITH NO FURTHER CONCERNS.

This Ice Rink is my go-to for a fun place to skate, not to mention where my daughter takes her lessons. The rink has changed its shaped from the rectangle it was in years passed to an oval shape, which is noticeably smaller but is a much more logical shape for skating in a particular direction. The redesign of the entire area is a fresh look from what it was and updates to a more modern aesthetic that appeals to the younger crowd - and it worked. I see lots of the younger crowd taking to this rink. However, what I have seen as of late is the ever increasing price for all services at this rink. Whether it be party services, lessons, or just good ol time on the ice, its at a premium. Granted its been made known to me that skating is a rich persons sport. This leaves little for those less fortunate and wish to partake upon a traditional past-time of this mall or simply want to learn how to skate.Im one to take change in stride but these changes have become too rich for my blood. As much as I would love to have my daughter continue to take lessons here, Im afraid we may move to another rink that is lesser expensive. My only speculation is that, with a rink in Lloyd Center, and in ever increasing costs for services, this rinks popularity may melt under the heat and dry up.

We were waiting for getting a bracelet for the public skating after my kids ice skating lesson. There was only one family in front of us at the cashier window. I was waiting behind them but my kids (4 yr &6 yr)are excited and went to NEXT TO the little girl in front of us. Not cutting in front of her. He is putting the bracelet on the little girl. The staff said to my kids BACK OFF. THATS JUST RUDE! We could ALL be a better person if he would say: Wait for your turn. Please!

I take lessons here and it is a very nice rink. The rental skates are VERY unpleasant. The reason for rental skates being so uncomfortable is that ice skates are made to fit your feet and so when they have more than one person using them over time, the insides flatten out. The Lloyd center ice rink got new better ice skates that are black and grey. They are supposed to be more comfortable than the old brown skates, but this is untrue. If you are going to rent ice skates to skate ask to use the brown ones and it will be not just more comfortable to skate but you will have an easier time and have a better time skating.

It would have been nice for you not to have charged me $30 when I only got to skate on half the arena and had to share it with over 30 kids . If youre going to have schools come do lessons dont have them during public skate times. Seriously frustrating to be knocked over repeatedly by a bunch of rude kids with no staff members to calm down their rowdyness.and coming off half the arena for little kids races during public skate is also very rude.

Best ice skating rink Ive ever been to. Ive been taking lessons there for about a year a they give great lessons. Before I took lessons I had no idea how to even get on the ice without falling now Im a level 5 ice skater. I do have to say the lessons are a bit pricey. There are lessons once a week and at the end of the month they see if you go to the next level or stay. The free skate however is a great price its not hat bad of a price for skating for several hours. The only thing I do not like about the Lyod center ice skating rink is that they are closed for renavation until November 2016.

I will not be back. I learned to skate here. Loyalty does not override the ridiculous improvements and the astronomical cost. To skate here, if you also need to rent skates costs $20!! Now, they say its all day. But their own improvements make it very unlikely for someone to use the rink for the maximum time. Why do I say this? 1) The rink was already too small. Now its rinky dinky small. So it gets scratched up and rough much quicker, which equals a more bumpy skate. More falls. More breaks.2) There is no barrier between the part of the floor that is safe for the skate blades amd the part that will damage the blades. There are also numerous surfaces easily accessible to young skaters that will ruin the blades. If your blades are dull, you get a rougher ride, you fall more, you need more breaks.3) The skates they have purchased are great for not breaking down, and should have a long rental life. They are MURDER on feet. I am very good at tying my skates to prevent fatigue and ankle injury. The skates are too wide and the sides are too stiff to get them tight enough where it counts. Everyone with me had to take multiple breaks, even had to remove their skates. And we paid $20 for all day?? Right.Lastly, you pay for all day skating, but locker rental is in 2 hour increments. $20 all day would be a rip off anyway. Not only is it a rip off, THEY dont even expect you to last all day. Save your money. Although I am nostalgic about the space, I would see it close rather than so many kids first experience be so poor.
