Early April is a great time to be out here because of the spring flower bloom overhead. Most of the cherry blossoms have a pinkish hue. You will know the season is approaching when you see dark pink buds appearing on the trees in late March. Immediately afterwards the buds will become light pink flowers and the park really comes to life. On a sunny day you will see people in every corner trying to capitalize on the beauty of the flowers overhead and the sunshine breaking through the petals on the joggers below.

This is an excellent area to enjoy in the spring for the row of cherry blossom trees. Its also nice in the summer for picnics or people watching. The near by waterfront has many runners and bikers hoping by all the time. The monument itself is very beautiful to see and enjoy.

This was a nice to contrast to the urban environment of Portland, juxtaposed as a backdrop to the tranquility of these gardens.

Had an amazing time here people watching and enjoying the sunshine after a long bike ride last week. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and everyone came out! Ive seen these from the I5 corridor a couple times, but this was my first time seeing it in person. I suggest getting there by bike or TriMet due to parking.

As a visitor from Los Angeles, CA I thought this was a neat little park. Its got a cool view of the bridges and river. If you have kids they can screw around in the grass area with all the other screaming kids. There are birds and fountains. Its great :) if there is a group on your you can sneak close and listen to fun facts.

Nice park near Willamette waterfront. Good for strolling, cycling, for family outings, easily seen from road. Has big rocks with poetry engraved on it. Has 2 bronze sculptures depicting the victims of the Japanese WW-II _ Hiroshima atom bomb attack victims.

Nice view of the river. The stones have poetry on them as well as historical information about Japanese internment doing WW2. Ideally go when the cherry blossoms are in season.

There are very pretty cherry blossoms right now in late March, so its pretty. There are also quite a few people with sleeping bags and shopping carts, so not really a safe feeling.

Nice view of the water and it should be pretty when the trees bloom. Got bugged by a homeless man but then got to watch a cop drive his vehicle over the grass to chase him down.
