Kelly has a pleasant personality and was able to put me at ease right away. He taught me gun safety, how to operate shotgun, and how to clean it. He then taught me how to shoot! I was able to hit a target. Yeah!Kelly’s teaching is right on point with substance. When I left, I felt better prepared in case of emergency. Everyone else here are friendly too.

First time at Portland Gun Club today, Awesome experience, nice people, GREAT SHOOTERS, very helpful, NICE PEOPLE. Will be a regular. I have no sympathy for any one who buys a house next to a gun club and complains about the noise. That wasnt a smart move. Maybe you should buy a house next to a Pig farm, its much quiter!

Love this place, seem to take COVID very seriously and the staff is following strict guidelines. Five stand is a lot of fun on thursdays.

My wife and I just got done taking the New Shooter Clinic with Kelly.Honestly, we both couldnt stop smiling and talking about how much fun we had the whole way home.Kelly is a really nice guy, and a great instructor. We were both a little nervous, as I havent shot anything since I got out of the military 7 years ago, and my wife had only ever shot a pistol one time. Kelly can read a room and make the right kind of jokes to put you at ease.And he teaches you everything you need to know before you head out on the range and shoot some targets.I also want to mention that we interacted with a nice young lady at the counter as well.Overall, it was just a really great experience. We cant wait to get a shotgun of our own and come back as much as possible!

This is an awesome place to go with shotguns. My friends and I are very frequent visitors. The staff is always nice and love the equipment!!! It’s always a good time when we go!!

I had a great time at the range. It was my first time at this location and the first time firing my new Mossberg 930. The two girls at the counter were nice and helpful. For those wondering: Its outdoors and its a Trap Range, so a dug out machine throws up targets for you to shoot at, with yelling Pull into a microphone. My shotgun is a semi-auto; they do not allow you to shoot more then once and you must reload one shell at a time. There are five stands to multiple shooting areas (I think 7). So even on a busy day you would have a terrific chance at shooting and not waiting. If there are multiple people in your area at the stands you would have to take turns going in order. I was able to shoot alone and discard four boxes of 25 shells without being intruded upon. Go check it out!

Gun shots at almost 11pm. How disrespectful. Keeps myself and my 1 year old up all night. Unless they want to come and care for my crabby kid they need to stop.

Had an incredible experience with a Kelly Whitlock and the new shooter clinic. Taught me everything I needed to get started and had a blast doing it. Kelly makes an intimidating activity easy to understand, safe, and enjoyable.

Super Knowledgeable, Friendly, and Fun. Mike is quick to respond on the phone and you get all the help you need on the range. Just bring yourself, they provide: earplugs, Shells, and Shotgun if you need it. Great spot to bring friends and co-workers. Ill be back.

Me and my cousin love this place, and we go almost every weekend. People working over there are awesome!Thanks for being an awesome Trap shooting club. Lastly, the prices are very affordable.

I dont live by this place like many people put one stars. However, Ive been in the neighborhood several times late at night and you can still hear gun shots. At first I thought it was fireworks but then Im like who puts fireworks on in the middle of February. Even though this place is historic and all, it seems a bit run down..I think some staff are nice some are ok.. They charge for water because their fountain drink is broken.

I live right by this place and their website says they close the range at 9, and it’s almost 9:30 and I can still hear the shots. I work and have a child in school. Wish they’d be a little more considerate.

Some of these negative reviewers should remember. The club was here before you were. Think about it. This was country side everything past 82 back in the day. So they don’t get finished with there competition till a little past 9:30pm. It is like saying a restaurant closes at 9:30 and not doing the dishes because you don’t want any noise. Give me a break people!

A great and historic gun club thats been around long before the neighborhood around it developed. The staff has always been extremely helpful me knowledgable whenever Id had any questions. A great place for people interested in learning how to safely shoot trap or skeet.

I too can hear this place from my house for the last 3 years since moving in, drove me nuts. Needng a new place to shoot after relocating here i finally stopped by a few months back. Mywife and i now shoot here every week. Great relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Now hearing shooting makes me itch to go more than it ever did.I only wish they were open more days to annoy the whiney people leaving negative reviews without warrant. Those of us who have actually been here and have a right to review this business would love more opportunities to go enjoy it.

So, so. Went as guest. Didnt know who the member was, but extremely unfriendly. Arrogant, rude. Probably didnt like a non-yolkal local like myself at his range. Felt kinda unsafe. Honest review.

I stayed nearby & then we moved about a mile down the road. Still sounds like its next door.

This is the only downside where I live. The noise is constant and it continues after closing. I dont care if its a historic anything. If you close at 9pm, CLOSE. Once that starts happening, Ill change my review.

In response to Citizens comments. The gun club is a historical monument its been there for a long time with much history. I had visited the site long before houses were built around the site. If people are really upset about the noise why did they buy a house next to a gun club.
