Although its been awhile since my last piece, Vertigo is an awesome place. Nathan is professional, passionate and knowledgeable about what he does. His shop is clean and comfortable. I went with a photo and a few ideas but gave him the freedom to use his imagination. He didnt disappoint me! Nathan is not shy about telling you whats going to work and how he can make your design better. I was mesmerized by his paintings on the walls. Nathan has the softest touch as well, in fact I took a nap (more than once) while he was working on my leg! Im ready for another amazing piece for the greatest artist in Portland!

Called the shop to have some tattoos fixed , I was redirected to a website, I filled out the form twice and still couldn’t get a call back..they obviously had zero interest in my business, ironically after the owner had just ridiculed the business I’d just come from for being unprofessional...I took my business to someone who actually wanted it....I wouldn’t come back hereUpdate to your response...I did try to make an appointment over the phone, and if you had no record of my being there, why did I get computerized responses over the email?And, the owner absolutely called the other shop full of “tattoo school” kids who have no idea what they’re doing ..best of luck

I’ve gotten two tattoos from Alisa so far and she’s absolutely amazing!! Her tattoos are BEYOND gorgeous!! Super friendly, easy to talk to, and the amount of detail and precision she puts into her work is just incredible. I will definitely be coming back for more in the future and recommend her to everyone!!!

Got here a little after 11 to get a quick small tattoo to commemorate my trip to oregon and doors were locked when I arrived. I called the number and the guy that answered seemed to care that I wanted to get tattooed until he heard it was a small tattoo then suddenly he had no one to do a small 10 minute tattoo. I chose this gallery because I want the tattoo done tastefully and with expertise because of the area and I loved the portfolios but I guess theyre too good to do small tattoos

I have been coming to Vertigo for years now. I keep coming back because the artists do awesome work but also because they are friendly, knowledgeable and treat you like family not just customers. Big shout out to Emily who has been my main artist, all I do is tell her what I’m thinking and she brings it all to life! They are all great here, highly recommended!!

Nathan is an incredible artist! A few years ago he turned my blank arm into a work of art. I originally walked into the shop wanting a very simple tattoo, but after speaking with Nathan he ended up creating a floral/black work sleeve that I thought would only be possible in my dreams. Being a young woman walking into a shop can be an intimidating experience, Vertigo made me feel right at home. My sleeve is still a work in progress and I’m eager to get back in to see what other magic Nathan can turn out.High recommend this shop/artist.

Chose this place for my first tattoo and wasnt disappointed. Alisa was nice and informative and I couldnt have been happier with her work.

Ive been getting tattooed here for over 13 years. They run a clean place with a very respectable staff. I highly recommend that you give Nathan and Emily a visit.

Ive been getting tattooed by Nathan for 12 years now. The shop is always very clean and the staff stress the care of your tattoos to prevent infections, even to a long time customer like myself. Nathan puts a lot of thought and effort into his artwork, and truly wants your tattoo to look as good as possible. I high;y recommend stopping by and checking out the shop and their artwork.

Emily has done 2 pieces for me including a photo of my daughter. My daughter is an exact likeness. Good job Emily! The bearded one did a spider web piece for me and gets comments all the time. Next.. SLEEVES.

Without a doubt my favorite Tattoo shop. I love that when you walk in you dont come face to face with a bunch of cookie cutter Flash art. You see REAL art on canvas, airbrushed murals, sculptures. As long as Emily is there doing her thing, I wont go anywhere else. Nathan and Dan are RAD too. Lol

Absolutely love the tattoos Ive received at vertigo. I have 3 from Vertigo. Nathan is a true artist who does amazing work. Almost everyone I know has ink from them and I know of none, who have had any infections as the other review describes. The are clean and warn you of improper care leading to staff infections. Specially by your animals. I have an entire sleeve and no problems. I would refer them to anyone I meet and have personally sent several of my friends to them. I cant wait to go back.

I went here looking for nose rings and it was closed when it said it was open. Walked back out to my car and got in it and was sitting there for less than 5 mins looking on Google for another place to go for nose rings and the guy comes out and tells me to leave and says theres no loitering all rude as f--ck. Like screw you dude I was a customer looking for stuff and thats how you treat a customer. Screw this place. Totally uncalled for. Like I said I was there less than 5 mins just looking up a new place to go. Wow.

3 people i know have gotten infections from the tattoos they recieved here. My friend just got her first tatoo here 2 weeks ago and is now hospitalized with a staff infection. The shop wont even give her a refund let alone cover her medical costs. Do not get anything done here. Should be shut down by the health department soon anyways.
