Great work preserving the history of the area. It is a museum but they also provide walking tours. Due to Covid and the winter season they will most likely start the guided walking tours again in the spring. The museum contains space for three different exhibits. You can pay a single entry admission fee or become a member and receive free admission, discounted admission to all educational programs, members only events, and entry to other local museums. Great way to support local history

Nice place to stop by if youre in Architectural Heritage Center. There is a underground parking garage if you cant find parking on the street. I went during the day and I have to go back at night next time Im in town.

Magnificently curated, if small. It is well worth the visit if one admires architectural details and history.

At the time of our visit there was a fascinating exhibit on Minor White’s photographs of buildings that are no longer standing, with some incredible salvaged parts of said buildings alongside. The staff are incredibly knowledgable and obviously passionate about what they do and stand for. There certainly needs to be more awareness and preservation of the city’s prominent and important buildings - whether that importance is socially or historically!

A small museum of interest to people who enjoy history, architecture, and beautiful objects. They mount some very interesting special exhibits and are friendly and willing to answer questions. I visited on a weekday, but had no trouble finding open parking spaces on the street.

I went on a free museum day hosted by the Smithsonian, but noticed it is only $3/ person to enter, so not bad for museum pricing. I would definitely go back to catch what I missed on the second floor. They had a glassblowing and architectural glass exhibit on and a door knob room which was interesting. Definitely a stop for historians and architectural enthusiasts!

The go-to group to keep up with the changing terrain of architectural preservation. Guided tours of Portland neighborhoods, classes on all things history/architectural, and a lending library and ongoing exhibits.

Fantastic collection of vintage brass doorknobs are the permanent side exhibition. Exquisite workmanship!Knowledgable, friendly volunteers with a family history of Portlands booming 1800s are ready to share details of the citys architectural trends. To avoid disappointment, call first to see if the main exhibit room is open.

One of the unknown great unique museums in Portland. Even folks in Seattle have said there is nothing like it there.
