Never acknowledged my presence. I patiently viewed the inventory twice as the lone personnel discussed acclimation of fish death with the mother of several doctors “So I know” conversations was endless. I saw several things I would have liked to purchase but lost patience.

Absolute best marine aquarium store in South Florida. All the fish are quarantined, their store is impeccable. Expert owner operated, who BTW are the nicest people on earth. I live far away but every time I go visit the family in Miami, I take the trip to Pompano to see their amazing display tank. Dont play around with others. Elite Marine Life is the best around. Dont take my word for it; go see them.

What a gem! Elite MarineLife by Captive Seas is exactly what a true reef hobbyist wants to see. This small yet stocked store is very clean and always has impeccable displays. They always seem to have a stunning selection of designer clownfish. The fish and inverts always look really healthy and their frag and coral selection is extremely affordable. In fact, all of their pricing is very good considering the extra care they have with every fish they carry. They quarantine their fish separate from their display tanks for a minimum of 2 weeks. I have seen many stores claim they quarantine, but I’ve never seen the quality of care for fish like I’ve seen at this store – it’s unreal. The owners are extremely passionate about their craft and have over 40 years in the business. If you have a question, Lance, Micki or Matt are always wanting to help. I will definitely stock my tank with confidence at this store. You’re welcome for sharing this place! Believe me…I thought about keeping this secret to myself ;)

Ive been in the industry for many years now and I have to say having seen stores around the united states this is by far the cleanest fish store Ive ever seen. The store is just the right size. Products on shelf not full of dust all the tanks were beautiful. Clean and organized. The love and care they put into their systems is beyond anything I could imagine. Ive worked with Lance a few times and he is just a top notch guy and not to mention his wife who is sweet and also very passionate about what they do. We spoke for a short while and you could hear it in her voice when she would talk about certain fish that she loved what she did and it definitely showed. They QT all their fish and I mean even when you look at their live rock tank its clean. What an absolutely beautiful store and it will be a great pleasure returning one day soon.

Friendly and supremely knowledgeable staff, Lance is one of the smartest men in the business. Clean store with QT section in the back. Excellent frags at great prices, and they regularly get in an awesome selection of unique fish.....so much more than the standard bread & butter selection!

Use this shop to purchase food and supplements. Recommended to a friend to set up a second hand aquarium. Lance, the store owner, turned their aquarium into a masterpiece. His experience and knowledge is beyond anything I have ever seen in South Florida. Will never go to another shop after finding out about some of his famous tanks he set up in Vegas and for celebrities in Miami. He even gave us a signed copy of his own book!

AMAZING!!! Im about 6 months into this hobby and have visited about 5 other marine fish stores recently, I even live super close to 2 in Coral Springs. Elite takes the cake hands down. The owners are SO friendly but also very knowledgeable.The prices are much better as well, their selection is very good and all their equipment seems very updated. This will definitely be my go-to store for pretty much everything going forward.

Elite Marine Life are truly the best in the area, their store is the cleanest and most organized that Ive been to. They are very attentive and most importantly very passionate and knowledgeable about the hobby, and put an extreme amount of care into all of their creatures. Their prices truly are the best- in town and compared to various websites. They are the only place I would trust to put fish in my aquarium without quarantining them. I am beyond satisfied and would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

This is one of the best marine aquarium stores in the tri-county area. The staff/owners are knowledgeable and friendly. They are not pushy and are very willing to share their experience and spend time assisting. This is my new favorite store. I will be going back.

I know I posted a review a while ago. But Lance and Mikki still run the best fish store in S. Fla. Its rare to find a store that cares about its animals and customers the way they do. Its even more rare for that store to remain as consistently devoted to both as they have.

Stopped in today to look around. Got some great service from some friendly people and got my son a fire shrimp and a coral frag for his nano tank.

Friendly, knowledgeable, cordial and helpful staff. Flawless, clean, pleasant and nice store. Assorted and well priced good quality dry goods and livestock. Lance, Mickey and staff will take care of you. I have purchased different items from them...fish, corals, LEDs, dry rock, etc. Everything is thriving in my 45 gallon tank.

Showed up at the door on a Monday at 3:45 was not aware they were closed on Mondays the owner just happened to be in the store He open the doors and allowed me to come in All I need was 6 gallons of RO water Without a question he filled my jugs And sent me on my way phenomenal business I would recommend this place to anybody It is not often that you would find an owner That is willing to open their doors on A-day that they are closed To assist a customer Kudos to you sir

The store front itself is small. The selection of equipment is small. The selection of livestock is average. But the knowledge that the owner Lance has is IMMENSE! This guy has over 42 years of professional reef keeping. I went in feeling like a pro... After listening to lance school me on the science of aquarium keeping, livestock, dumps... Etc. I felt like a rookie. Sooooo many tips and small minor things that make sense now. Hes a marine biologist that wrote an incredible book on the hobby/passion. If youre a hobbyist or a passionate aquarist like me... This man and his wife are the BEST in the business. They are honest people that throw ZERO sales pitches. He keeps his incredible show reef setup simple and teaches you how to do the same. Please please please... If your in to aquariums... You owe it to yourself to see this man, his wife, and their shop! I drive 2.5 hrs out of town to see him and fulfill my aquarium needs: enough said.

Whether you are new to the hobby or a veteran, you will appreciate the sincerity, professionalism and warmth that is exuded at Elite MarineLife in Pompano Beach. I recently dealt with a bout of high nitrates and needed a massive water change for my 125 gallon reef. From the minute I called and Mikki answered, she listened attentively, asked great questions and reassured me by promising shed do everything possible to get my nitrate issue resolved. This happened during the 4th of July pre-weekend celebrations. I had already called several other local fish stores before calling Elite. In hindsight, it was a blessing in disguise that everyone else was too busy or not interested in hearing me out since Im now a customer of Elite MarineLife. I went in to their store and meeting Mikki and Lance in person (the owners) was such a pleasure. They are so incredibly knowledgeable yet easy going and down to earth. Things are explained in a way that makes sense and makes you feel like this hobby is attainable so long as you follow well-informed sound advice. I had the privilege of having Lance come over and perform the large water change the same day I called in with my issue. Its not often you have someone as knowledgeable as him in your living room handling your reef aquarium so I took full advantage and asked many questions. I feel more confident now having Elite MarineLife as an incredibly valuable resource that I can count on for my aquarium needs.

Lance and Mikki at Elite Marinelife have absolutely nailed the way a mom & pop local fish store ought to be run. As soon as you walk in, youll see that the store is immaculately clean, with plenty of space to walk around and look at the fish holding tanks along the walls. Each holding bin has a thin layer of sand and a small decoration in it, making perfect habitats for finicky fish to acclimate in relatively “stress free” environments. The center of the room is dominated by a massive open top coral display, with prices reasonably well-placed to identify the coral sales. Best of all – Lance and Mikki quarantine their fish in a back-room display for at least 10 days before bringing the livestock to the front for sale. While this doesnt pass muster for a full 30 day quarantine, it does help ensure the fish you buy are healthy, eating, and ready to acclimate to your home system….and it’s better than any other local stores in the area.The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help you set up your perfect system. It’s pretty clear that they’re interested in developing long term customers, not quick sales of fish that may or may not be good for your tank. Highly recommended.

My wife and I had recently purchased a fish from this establishment. We were not able to take the fish home on the date of purchase but had visited multiple times during the time we had to wait for our tank to cycle. Our interactions with the owner Mikki were inconsistent, one day she would be pleasant while others she would seem irritable. Today when my wife went to pick up the fish that we had already paid for Mikki had refused to honor the sale stating that her employee had made a mistake. When my wife tried reiterate that she had already paid for the fish Mikki responded by bashing her employee and offering a refund. Despite the unapologetic attitude and lack of professionalism my wife left with a $9 clean up crew. That will be the last time either of us step foot into Elite Marine Life.

Elite MarineLife is a saltwater fish and reef store.They also do aquarium rejuvenation, set-up, new design & construction.They carry a full line of fraging supplies.Its worth the trip to Elite MarineLife, just to see some of the beautiful reef tanks they have set-up.And make sure you have them open-up the cabinets to see the reef support-equipment, which they are eager to do with pleasure, as they share their knowledge with you.One of the frags, I was admiring in their reef tanks, had grown two inches in a week!!!When I asked about fish food, they gave me a free sample to see if my fish would eat it!One reef keeper told me he has never lost a fish he purchased at Elite MarineLife.In fact, he said, he once had a problem that killed-off all his fish but the ones he had purchased at Elite MarineLife survived the ordeal!All new fish and corals are kept in the shop for two weeks, before they will let you take them home, to better assure you will get healthy fish, already accustomed to aquarium life & eating regular aquarium food)!!!You can purchase them before the quarantine is up, but you cant take it home till the two weeks are up.If the specimen dies before you take it home, they will give you store credit (not a refund).The owners Lance & Mikki both have taken extensive courses in marine biology and they are eager to share their knowledge with marine aquarium keepers.The store is located in Pompano Beach, FL, a half mile south of Copans Rd, on north east 16 street, a half-block east of US1.Lance Ichinotsubo first began maintaining a marine aquarium in 1970, where he collected specimens diving around Hawaii. He has worked for the largest marine fish wholesalers in Hawaii.Lance has also co-author various books pertaining to marine aquarium keeping, including The Marine Fish Health & Feeding Handbook.Lance and Mikki started a marine aquarium store in Las Vegas in 1982, some of the aquariums they rebuilt, maintained and rejuvenated included the resort hotel and casinos, including The Mirage, Caesars Palace and the Tropicana.REEF-ON
