Just returned from another fabulous girls retreat. The course was in excellent shape, so well maincured, greens soft. The view of the lake and mountains, simply beautiful. Paul very accommodating and helpful. One of the girls was not a golfer, so she ventured to the beach where she relaxed, read and swam, she had a very relaxing time. Would recommend for sure and will be back in October with hubby.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend. We both enjoyed it a lot. Wish i had seen they had combination packages for golf and the cabin, we would have done this instead. The room was very clean and comfortable. We even bought some firewood at a local gas station and had a fire down by the beach! A very relaxing weekend just what we needed, using the golf cart to get to the cabin was a nice change. After dark a bit of a challenge be sure to take a flashlight!

Full disclosure: you are NOT staying in a hotel. In my opinion, after reading the listing, i believed we were staying in an actual hotel. You are not. We arrived and were greeted very kindly and could not have asked for better service. It was outstanding! That sais, imagine my surprise when i heard we would need a golf cart to get to our room. Excuse me? Fast forward after a very quick and flawless check-in, we were on our way to our room. Nope, it wasnt a hotel room, but instead a cabin located between the 5th and 6th fairway. A cabin with four individual rooms. For an uninsulated cabin, it was clean . The bathroom was the most up-to-date part of the room, even modern looking. In every other aspect, we were glamping. The mattress was very soft and actually rolled my husband and me to the center...pretty close quarters. Lol. There is a heater in the cabin, but be warned, if it is a cold night, your cabin will be cold in the morning if you dont crank up the temperature. In the end, we chalked this up as an adventure. A very expensive adventure because of the non hotel conditions. What I will tell you is that the BEST part of our stay was the surrounding views. Holy cow, gorgeous!! Would we stay here again? If we were here to play golf, absolutely! However, as a person passing through on a trip, I would not elect to stay here again. Getting to our room, transporting luggage so far away...it was just a lot of extra work. And, we are not campers and this was a cabin.

We are not golfers but we needed a place to stay on a Friday night in Plattsburg, NY. This place was recommended to us, so we gave it a chance. The positives are that the views were wonderful. In the morning we golf carted (this was provided) to Lake Champlain. Very nice.Negatives were that this place was a cabin, with open studs. Not very clean. Cold or noisy heater. No coffee in the cabin. At around midnight our smoke detector started chirping. It was located about 15ft up in a loft with no access. We mentioned this problem at the pro shop the next morning. We thought the golf cart transportation in the dark was an adventure but it might not appeal to everyone. There are no lights on the carts and we nearly had a head-on collision with another cart.I think it probably works very well for the golfers.

First off we travelled from Canada which means we have to pass the US border so after 6 pm there is no one but at least you are told instructions on a golf cart which are not very clear if your room is in the back area but we eventually found it. When we arrived the first thing we noticed was that there were a fridge and microwave that were not plugged in. The room was clean in appearance there was a tv if you wanted to watch something. The toilet was very low to the ground and there was very little water in it which worried me but it worked at least. For two people we were provided two body towels one hand cloth one facecloth one bar of soap which we used to wash our hand after going to the toilet and a shampoo conditioner mix. We wanted to have a shower, in the shower there is a bar but no bath anti-slip mat. Now I am 35 years old I have never slipped in a tub in my entire life but I guess there is always a first because I put one foot inside the tub and the sleek surface caused me to slip. Luckily, considering I am 7 months pregnant I fell on my side and my husband rushed to try to catch me but I ended up doing like the splits and scraped myself slightly below the hip. I ended up spending a good part of the night putting cold compresses with a facecloth I had the forethought to bring because my groin area was paining me. Anyways, suffice it to say I still had to pay up the rest of the cost of the room which I feel is a lot for what we are getting and I told the office.

Went here several years in a row with my league as a go away. Great price for the package. BUT, owner has a tendency to overbook. Last year when I flew up from The Villages to be with my old league and head up to Bluff, we got there and had to wait almost two hours to get into the cabins. That put our tee time in jeopardy and it wasnt a lot of fun standing in the parking lot. Then the next day we had to follow a large outing. Owner tried starting us on the 8th hole, but the other groups complained and rightfully so. There was garbage overflowing from the cans and the condition varied a lot from year to year. The scheduling and tee time check in was horrible. Would still go if the guys went, but would hope for better year. Also, the guy in the shop was afraid we were going to steal the carts. What a moron. We simply asked if we cold use and extra cart to bring our belongings to the cabins. He said when we do that nobody brings them back. Where did they take them.. to Vermont???I offered the guy my license, and he wouldnt budge. Again, what a moron. The owner is such a money grabber, he should have enough money to retire by now. Pro shop is horrible. You cant even walk around without banging into a rack. This resort gets a lot of golfers that are only interested in drinking. Which is OK, IF they have SOME etiquette .Just not much attention to detail for a resort.

We stayed here during Memorial Day weekend and had a great time! We do not golf but that didnt matter. The cabins are located in the middle of the golf course and they give you a cart to get back and forth to your cabin. Every cabin has a fire pit and we enjoyed that both nights. Beautiful grounds right on the water. The area is great for hiking and outdoors activities. We also brought our dog which was the best part! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice quiet get away and if youre a golfer even better!

Thanks to Paul and the Staff at Bluff Point for another great season. Was lucky enough to sneak in another gateway at Bluff last Saturday(4th of the season). I always hate to leave, but its even tougher in the fall knowing it will be another 6-7 months until I get to go back. We always have a great time, whether its the guys week-end, couples weekend or family week-end. See you next year as soon as mother nature is willing.

This was one of the great golf disappointments in my life and I never hit a ball! As I entered the course I saw flat tee boxes, flat greens and sand traps that would call for a putter before a wedge. OK, even the greatest can have a bad day and it looks like AW had one at Bluff Point, but it got a lot worse. In all my years I have never been treated so rudely with a condescending arrogance as by one H. Paul Dame, Head of Golf Operations. After driving 90 minutes, including a ferry, he informed us that our reservation was void because he had an outing. Tough luck. His attitude was, “my staff makes an error, live with it and get out of my shop”.Mr. Dame comes up short on all the human qualities we are used to seeing in every other course manager I have encountered. His demeanor is an offense to the thousands of incredible professionals we depend on every time we tee up a ball.Anyone who drives more than 30 minutes to be at Bluff Point should take a few minutes more and come to Vermont, we have some great course and their managements exude a gracious courtesy to all. And that comes from a lifelong New Yorker.

So, its long over due that I post this review and I guess I was hesitant because I dont really want too many people to know about how great this place is! I love the location on beautiful Lake Champlain, I love the challenges of the course, I love the cosy suites in the rustic cabins, the enjoyment of sitting outdoors with a fire burning and the BBQ going for that nights supper. Of course, if you prefer you can heat up a meal in the microwave, or go out to dinner as there are a number of places to eat in nearby Plattsburg.Frankly I was surprised to read any negative reviews about the resort, and especially about the staff--its a bunch of BS--they are great people and very helpful as is the owner Paul Dane who does his best to resolve all issues and in a timely manner. Chalk it up to unreasonable people with expectations that might be better reserved for high end fancy establishments--this is not a 300 dollar per night hotel, nor is it a snobbish spa located in Beverly Hills. This is a real place for real people and very affordable! If you have any clue about running and/or owning a business, especially a golf course, youd know and understand how difficult a task it is, and youd bite you tongue before complaining about things like a wet course after it rained--youre kidding right?! Paul and his crew are constantly making improvements but they cannot control the weather, nor is it reasonable to expect a refund or a rain-check if it rains! Honestly, thats not how it works and that information is clearly spelled out on the web site, as is the cancellation policy, which is very reasonable.I first found out about this gem in 2009 and have been back there numerous times and will be there again as my last overnighter there this year (2014 June 2-3rd), was as enjoyable as ever. So please, if you would rather believe the negative reviews about this place, do us all a favour and stay away. That way Ill always have an easier time booking there again!
