Serene easy hike near creek on Memorial Day. After staying in for so long we wanted a place to walk in nature and just enjoy being out. French Creek Trail fit the bill perfectly. The wife and I both enjoyed the sounds of many birds and the babbling brook on our walk. The trail is flat and even partially paved in areas. A couple small bridges over the creek and a few benches to sit on along the way makes this place perfect for getting out and getting some exercise. Also not too crowded which is a plus.
Beautiful trail, well kept. Wasnt overly crowded on the day we went. We also didnt walk the trail too far but would for sure to back again! Our kiddos had a blast playing in a very shallow section of creek
Great spot to bring dogs with plenty of areas to enter the creek for drinking or swimming along the trail. The best swimming spot is where the old locals used to have a swimming area with a diving board back in the day. The entire trail is 2 miles one way. The trail is very wide mostly but has side trails that run parallel that are much more narrow hugging the creek. The last 1/3 of the trail towards township line rd is much more narrow and woodsy but not difficult to walk. Has some nice benches along the water to stop for a quick picnic. Free dog trash bags is a plus!
Really great spot for a walk or run. Everyone do their part to keep this place clean and enjoyable for others.
Wonderful little gem I just discovered this past weekend. Part of the trail is paved, most of it isnt which doesnt bother me at all. It was a beautiful, easy trail to walk as it follows along the river. Great history along the way as well to read about from the Revolutionary War and how they hand dug canals to power old an old mill and are still there to see!
Nice place to walk the dogs. :)
Peaceful and good place to hike,,,,but. No. Restroom,
Nice trail a bit buggy in the summertime. For people afraid to go out alone this place is quite well-travelled. It also has interesting historical markers. Its flat level gravel that would be good for a cross bike
Great walking trail and nice landscape.
Easy and nice trail..
Parking on hares Hill Rd at the bridge is small. Two paths run along the Brandywine. The main path is laced with sewer access heads. Those and other spots along the way have stagnant pools where the bugs will get real bad soon. The other path parallels the main path which is thin and mostly used by fisherman. Theres two nice crossover bridges, the second being Rapps damn. I had my k9 with me and turned around because it started raining. I would have given it 5 stars but those dead water pools are going to be ugly if they dont dry up.
Clean path, beautiful scenery, friendly people
Great place to meet homeless people
It was cool, but I got tired even know I didnt hit the end. Almost a quarter through and then I got way tired. Cool other than that.
Quick easy access to the French Creek Trail. French Creek Trail is a two mile trail that runs from Hares Hill Road to Township line Road. It has a very nice bridge crossing the creek. There is a picnic table at the parking lot and a few benches along the trail. It has a very nice bridge crossing the creek. My major issue with this trail is that it was still flooded two days after we had a lot of rain. raising the trail or adding boards would help in the flooded section.
Grew up in the area and just found this hidden gem. Definitely worth a try
Nice trail.
We love walking on the trail!
Beautiful and peaceful. Lots of shade and trickling water sounds!
I love this place and so does Luna. She gets excited to walk here with all the wildlife and other dogs
A beautiful hiking trail year round!
Heard and saw a winter wren - fun bird!
Beautiful trail to walk or bike on. Wear boots if its recently rained.
New trail but I am on able to hold it due to health issues
This is a nice, shaded trail along the creek, which is wadable in places. The creek does flood over the trail at times, leaving the trail muddy with large puddles in places.
Great short hike
Beautiful area
Perfect entry level single track for mountain biking.
Awesome, part paved part natural and gravel
Great walk in the woods
