I often skate here, the community is awesome. Bowls are sick and quarter pipe is good for first time drop ins. Occasionally see professionals there too. If u are planning on bringing a bike or scooter, DONT COME.

Was surprised at how big and beautiful this park was, pics don’t do it justice. Massive bowls, roll-ins, banks, decks, all connected by nice transitions and covered in some really sick street art. Went at dusk and since it doesn’t have lights, there weren’t many people there, but during the day, looks like a great place to hang out in that classic philly skater atmosphere. Unfortunately not many street skate features, but nevertheless, the architects and graffiti artists who built this place did a top tier job at it

This place is gnarly. Various bowls, hips and other obstacles. A huge half pipe (at least 12 with about two feet of vert), and an over vert bowl.

My favorite park I go to. Big open skate park to skate in, there is also a little street section, and a half pipe. Also if your planning on doing photoshoots or music videos... DONT! You are in the way of everyone skating.

Always a pleasure at FDR!I try to get here really early in the morning when no one else is there but it does get really busy in the evening time. Never had an issue here with anyone and this is one of the best places to skate/bike in the country!

You definitely need to visit this skate park when you are in Philly. It is HUGE. There are tons of bowls and lots of options to skate on. It could have used few flat rails though. I have watched so many skate videos of this park and finally made it to skate it my self. We went at around noon on a Thursday and practically had the place to ourselves for 4 hours. I would definitely go back.

FDR is one of those world famous skateparks that youve seen in countless videos, magazines and video games. Even if you cant skate transition well you need to make the pilgrimage and witness the holy DIY ground for yourself. As was the president it is named after, this skatepark is LEGENDARY. Remember its a DIY park- its been made by skateboarders for skateboarders out of their own pocket. Its a little rough around the edges and everything is MASSIVE but you gotta go and see it for yourself.

This skatepark is a lot of fun. Made by locals out of their own pockets and sweat and blood, so be respectful. Its tiring to skate here, but its a transition lovers paradise. I like to come in late morning or early afternoon to avoid crowds. Get some breakfast in south Philly and hit up FDR.

Its actually quite humorous how prehistoric the locals at FDR skate park act. I understand that this is their home and (pathetically) the only thing going for them in life, but for petes sake, why do they think its OK to be so hostile and territorial? Reading previous reviews I expected the worst in these cavemen, and of course thats what I experienced. If you live in Philadelphia skip this park!

Im a victim of a slumlords and become homeless people. The FDR park is my history of great people living their lives before im homeless. While homeless at park now july 2019 half the people turn their heads fast . turn the other cheek. Im on good conduct behavior pertaining to County of philapa. But a lot of people are antihomeless . they dont trust us. I never observed any crimes by homeless people. I got to watch my back . but otherwise i came across some men as brother and women like sisters. Anyway without being homeless a lot of people engaged in baseball tennis golf fishing picnics and ordinary conversation about philapa reality. Its sad their shut down the beautiful golf course. The folks at the skateboarding area always are polite and its fun to watch them get down and jam away . may the world get better. Gods bless. Amen

Great ramps, I love the idea that anyone can pitch in and help build the park. As someone who helped with the project, I am glad that this can inspire others to create their own skateparks. I have meet some great people here but some of the locals are very hostile to bike riders and non locals. The website claims that bikes are allowed in the park, but you have to deal with a group drunk and/high hostile locals who throws beer bottles at other people who are trying to enjoy the place. Id say this place needs some sort of supervision if you dont your kid getting assaulted by a local. As of now, great place to be a drunk local.

Decided to try this place... worst decision ever. Nothing but a bunch drunk, imature man children that harass at anyone who isnt from the area. I had a bottle thrown at me after trying to skate a line through the main section. People shouted at me, called me racial slurs and told me I was not welcome there. Trust me, I was NOT expecting a warm welcome, but to be kicked out and verbally assaulted? No thanks. Ill let the dirty troglodytes stay under i-95.Tldr: DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! The place is run by drunk idiots that hate anyone not from Philadelphia. If you do decide to go, which I strongly advise against, be prepared.

Went to the skate park to take some photographs, I found a spot no one was skating at when the skaters started yelling and screaming saying get out of here, one skater started to come over skating very fast in our direction while shooting. i asked him i understand you are skating this way i will move out of your way. The skater was still very aggressive and rude and proceeded to tell me that i am not welcome here. As I walked off of the skate area several other skaters began yelling and saying you are not welcome here. I was in complete shock that this happened since i look at skate boarding as an art just like photography and my admiration for skate boarding community. I am not sure if it was racism or hate for non skate boarders but this was very disturbing. This could have easily escalated to where some one could have gotten seriously hurt.

This skatepark is one of the dopest DIY parks I have skated. The concrete is great for a DIY. Hard to find lines though tbh. Locals don’t seem way friendly but most of them aren’t great at riding anyways so if you shred, they will be chill to you. Kind of sketchy. Watched my belongings the whole time because of the ramp tramps. Transitions are like old school tile coping pools. So don’t expect perfection!
