This our dogs and our familys favorite dog park in South Philadelphia. It offers a large, mulched area for dogs to romp off leash and a secure, 2-step metal gate to enter. Its the only dog park weve visited that also has a separate gated area for small or timid dogs to relax off leash. There are free poop bags, lots of trash containers and multiple benches for pet parents to hang out. They even provide tennis balls and ball tossers to use. In season, there is a dog water fountain, and they sometimes run an oscillating sprinkler (our dog was not a fan ). The park is free and open to all, but regular users are encouraged to pay a voluntary $50 annual membership fee for park maintenance. The park receives no funds from the city. There is a paid parking garage across the street. The Dog Park is accessible 24/7, but realize that the lighting from the adjacent playground is dim if you visit at night. Children are not allowed in the dog park, but there is an adjacent playground.

Really good dog park. Good community of people, well stocked with woodchips and - most importantly - tennis balls.

Now this is a dog park, Unlike most The dog parks Ive been to a every owner that had a dog seemed to be attentive of his dog. Well could you believe it at odor actually watch it over his dog amazing. Kids running around dogs running around people pick it up after the dogs I really like this place and my dog had a ball playing with the other dogs no screaming and yelling at people or at each other it was great no dogfights people were actually friendly here, And they were even courteous and picking up after the dog I definitely recommend going here but only if you are going to be like everybody else if not stay wherever it is you are dont ruin this place it is wonderful

Excellent park, everyone there was really friendly and their dogs seem very well behaved. None of the dogs I encountered got aggressive and everyone was just there to socialize (dogs and humans)!Convenient location, I used to live 4 blocks away and Im in town visiting for a week, this is still a must if you have a dog.

Great dog Park overall. Wood chips keep the mud down overall decent condition unless of course its been raining. Usually friendly group of dogs with occasionally inattentive owners interested more in their phones than their canines. Most do cleanup after their pet and other pet owners are not shy about pointing out The need to clean up after them. Strongly suggest joining the park this place is underfunded but does have some good community support. Its $50 a year and well worth it

Great place ! Most owners pay attention. Not much space for little doggies. My 22 lb dog held her own . We had fun when some other little guys came. Will be back!

My dog and I both love it. Great people. Fun events. It feels like being at a campground, trees, the wonderful woodsy smell of the mulch. At the other local dog park that uses dog turf its always too hot and my dog always comes back smelling like pee. Here she has the wonderful wood smell instead.

Dog park was well maintained. There were a lot of dogs there, but they all played nicely. Owners were diligent about their dogs behaviour and they cleaned up their messes.

Awesome dog park but it gets no funding from the city, they rely on donations. Always well maintained and filled with happy dogs and great dog owners.

Love Seger Dog Park. Great location. Great dogs. Great people. Its not too big and just small enough. I even paid money to become a member and want to volunteer some time helping maintain the grounds.They even have cool happenings throughout the year all focused on hanging out with your dog. Who gets to have some fun off the leash with a sometimes large group of dogs. IMHO that is about as awesome as it gets for a dog and probably the only time they get to have a meet up like this unless you live on a farm.

Bright, cheery place for kids to play! The small childrens area is a great place to take little ones and there is a bathroom onsite and its always clean!

I had a great time with my grandchildren at Segar Dog Park.

Its a free playground divided into the little ones area and then 5-12 year olds area,a lot of lighting, a basketball court and a very nice doggie park

We love this dog park. The dogs are well behaved and the owners are considerate. It is truly a community of dog lovers. That being said, it gets muddy when the ground is wet because it is covered with wood chips. It doesnt stop the dogs from enjoying themselves though.

Thought I was coming here for some peace and quiet but the view won me over.

Its a nice city park with some rarely-seen play equipment that is pretty nifty. there are also some carts that the kiddies can utilize in the area as well. and yes there is a gated dog area for Rover to run around and mingle in.

Its more than a dog park. Its a nice park for children and in the summer they have fountains for the kids to keep cool which I think is awesome its a non smoking park which is best for the kiddos . And they have a gated park inside the park for infants and toddlers the ground is rubber in this area. I discovered this place a few years ago its a little hidden gem in Philadelphia and you can easily get to it on foot since its off of market St on Lombard St

I love this little Park my niece loves playing in the water fountain and watching the dogs chase each other. Its a safe place for kids

Watch for the Doodle club here. Always a fun experience with my Goldendoodle and seeing our friends.

Best park in south Philly for its size! Kid friendly, clean..but the section I visited didnt allow pets.

A clean dog park in CC thats well kept by the patrons, the dogs are always well behaved, and they have a great water hose for them.

What a great place in the City to take your dog off the leash and let him or her socialize and play freely.

Been taking my kids to this park since they were babies. My son is 9 and daughter is 7 in a half. I have a 12 month old and he loves the park as well.

The dogs are better behaved here than Schuylkill. Its a nice place. My only complaint is that the mulch can be quite messy.

This is a nice family friendly park. The park is split up into a larger area for older kids and a smaller area for smaller kids that has a lock on the gate lol...there is also a place to play basketball and let the dogs play

Favorite dog park. We used to live in the neighborhood, but now Seger is our destination point for long walks. I still help to keep this park clean by pushing the broom.

Unfortunately some of the tennis court users believe that they are the park commissioner or something, but overall nice facilities.

The best neighborhood park in the city? Probably. Toddler section, Big kid section, dog run, tennis courts, basketball courts (aka ideal place for your scooter). Just a great park!

We came to Philly for a wedding and stayed at an AirBnB with our 10 month old pup. He had never been to a big city before so was a little overwhelmed and not keen on no grass areas to potty. Thankfully, seger dog park was a couple blocks down the street so we ended up taking him to the park 3 times a day! Really well maintained park and super grateful it was there for out of towners like us to use.

Nice and friendly dogs

Lots of things were functioning a few years ago, now the place has fallen a bit. On the whole, its dirtier than in the past. There has been an uptick in graffiti that has not been responded to so quickly. The tennis courts were once more than adequate, but now are worn through and have giant cracks. Other parts of the park are holding their own, but again, the place has gone down. I use other places now, perhaps this will one day change.

Well maintained kids playground and dog park. Also, 2 separate playgrounds (one for 2 and under & the other for 2+).

King Tut and I enjoyed our 1st visit..the humans and pets were friendly.

The dog park is fantastic - not as big or crowded as the dog park in Fitler, but there are almost always 5 or more dogs when we go. The park is mulch (rather than turf) with a gravel perimeter with 6 or 7 benches.
