Today we went to the Arden to see a production of the Snow Queen. The play was great and the kids (4/5 age range) sat still throughout! The theatre is intimate with great seating. The actors were professional and entertaining. We had 6 adults and 7 kids and everyone enjoyed the show. Would easily go back. Parking is available right at the theatre (albeit tight fitting and not free but not expensive either).

Wonderful theater company performing both a regular season of classics and new plans and a childrens season in a modern two stage venue in a historic part of old Philadelphia. The Arden makes excellent contributions to Philadelphias live performance scene. We have seen many plays here over the years from both their mainstage and children programs, and recently attended the surprising and amazing Charlottes Web. Highly recommended. The Arden also works with the community to bring low income children to performances and has a drama school for kids.

I saw Once here, and it was truly magical in the Arden. I had seen clips of it at other more traditional theaters, but the Arden was able to use their theatre-in-the-round style to bring it to the next level. It was really cool to have the music surrounding you, and be able to see audience reactions across the room from your seat. One minor thing I did think was a bit of an inconvenience was that the seating on rows near to the exits only had one entrance side, so you had to clamber over twenty people if you had a seat all the way on the end.

Please go. The place is very conscious, of contagious anything coming down the pike. Cleaning before shows and after. Please use the sanitizer all around the place.I must say wear gloves/masks...whatever you need to do to protect yourself and others. Folks will come into the general population/mainstream with their coughing, sneezing, and contagious illnesses. Folks will not cough/sneeze in their shoulder or elbow. They hold on to their snoty tissues, or drop them in chairs or on the floor. The actors are phenomenal. My goodness, these are millions of dollars pay grade performers. Bestowing this high quality body of work for a mere fraction of what the actors are worth is a huge blessing. The staff are so nice, professional, educated in doing their work. The staff displayed so much grace in hosting their guests. Ive been to the Arden Theater many times. However, the theater has been enhanced to an optimum level.I thank you Arden Theater and I applaud your efforts...to see that your guests have a wonderful time in your facility.

The Arden is a great company in that it offers traditional theater and new productions. Traditional shows are extremely well done with talented performers. New shows are well done, but perhaps not to everyones taste. Weve seen great ones and ones we still shake our heads at because we are still not sure what they were about. But kudos to Arden for having a place for them to be seen. Always a great night out with lots of places to eat nearby.

Productions at the Arden are always high quality and they are not afraid to bring shows that are thought-provoking, and deal with themes such as social justice, racial inequity, equality, and more. Ive seen a dozen or more shows at the Arden, including most recently My General Tubman; but also Ragtime, 74 Seconds to Judgement, Treasure Island, and I have never been disappointed. meteted parking around the theater can be hard find and lots are expensive. However, its an easy walk to the bus and subway. The Arden is one of my favorite theaters in Philly.

My first time at the venue. The play was set in the smaller intimate, stage at the theater. Confotable seating, with enough personal space. Very helpful voluteers. The crowd seems to be for the large part patrons or members. I get that the theater deserves the community support its earned. Enjoyed the production. The acting and stage crew were top notch. Very Professional.Old city is tough to deal with if you drive a car. Consider public transportation. There are many great restruants and clubs in the area. Make a night of it.

The Arden knocked this one out of the park! Beautiful rendition of Ragtime. Strong cast, beautiful music; they made the best of a spartan set. The issues of race, immigration & the growth (or not) of relationships rang as true today as when the play was set.Go see it!

This production of Ragtime is spectacular.Brilliant cast and staging. Theater in the round is so wonderful. I can’t say enough in praise of this show.Saw Ragtime on Broadway in 1999 with the original cast after it won many Tonys and I was so excited to see it again. My takeaway, my laughter and tears were heightened in this production because of the trauma of this world we live in now.Don’t miss an opportunity to see theater as it’s meant to be seen. I saw an August Wilson play in the Haas theatre on the first floor. I love the unique stage set up. Seating is on all three sides of the stage and its small but not uncomfortably tiny. I prefer a more intimate theatre. Seating was also a stadium set up so everyone gets a good view of the stage. The only issue is finding parking thats not too high. Meter parking is up to 3 hrs for $7.60 or $20+ for a parking lot. U can get a discount with your ticket stub though.

What a great experience for the kids! We have been there for 2 different childrens shows now and both were very well done. It is a different experience then what you would think of as classic theater. They make full use of the auditorium, including the ceiling and seats at times, and invite participants to join the show sometimes too. After every show there is a short question and answer period with the actors and then you can meet them in the lobby to take pictures with the actors. My boys are 12 and 9 and have both greatly enjoyed attending here and are looking forward to their next production.

I really enjoy the theater experience at the Arden. The productions are generally superb (exceptions, but few); the actors are marvelous, the entertainers wonderful. The theater is intimate (youre never far from the stage), especially their theater in the round where a slight effort may actually bring you in contact with the stage. They periodically change the seating configuration to accommodate the play. They occasionally present new plays and these have generally been enjoyable. Discount parking ($10) next door.

When I first told my 8 year old son that he was going to do this camp he was very upset. In fact, we had a fight about it. Much to both of our surprises he LOVED IT. Basically Arden Theater took a child who had no interest in acting and made it really fun. He is now not only willing, but interested in signing up for more. This is an extremely well thought out camp. Its very educational, and supportive and well done. At the end of every day parents are handed a summary of what was done, along with some guided questions that you can use to illicit a conversation between you and your child to learn more about his or her day. I was thoroughly blown away by this camp. It exceeded all of my expectations. A very grateful parent.

A very welcoming, cozy and we managed theatre. I love the announcement at the beginning of the show. Good marketing. Saw Tony Morrisons The Bluest Eyes. Adaption from the novel. Brilliant brilliant directing. Making the harsh, dirty moments so pure and transcending. Hats off to the director !---Nothing has ever made me feel like this. Time froze. I was on the edge of my seat at times grabbing my heart, at times wiping my nose, at times looking up to breathe. Nothing has ever made me feel like this and I know (and I hope not) it would be a long time before I ever see something like this again. This production, this adaptation, this bringing to life of a masterpiece with an all black cast infuses you with a complexities of emotions, aesthetic responses at any single moment, a fleeting moment that lasts longer than they are supposed to be, that hangs mid-air your heart, your brain, whatever you have brought here with you tonight to offer to the stage. What Im trying to say is, for other productions, you will feel certain things at certain times: this moment you feel wonder, this moment you feel pain, this moment you feel regret or joy, but with this production, what I experienced was so so rich; it was a multitude of you-name-its, happened and infused your whole being in any given moment. It was rich, so so rich in truths in history in humanity. It was way beyond me and it took me over.I have to catch my breath writing this to you. I love the show, very much.#ArdenBluestSeeing black souls giving voices to their stories shook me to the core.
