Very nice course, good greens and fairways. Fair price also.

We used their Banquet Hall. Its a nice hall that can accommodate 100 people easily, good surroundings and fairly priced.

Course in good condition, although the bunkers are being repaired. However, they seriously need a course marshall, as we saw some beginners with slow pace, and also driving their cart almost on the greens.

Tee times were so close together they had no carts. When we finally got a cart (10 minutes past our tee time of 4:00), we drove to first tee box at 4:10. There were people waiting whose tee time was 3:50! So we played through 4 holes in an hour and a half!!! It was so clogged on the 5th hole that there were people on the par 3 green, people on the tee box waiting, a group waiting on them to tee off, the group in front of us, and then my group of 2. It was unplayable. Greens were absolutely awful as well.

Great golfing experience!

Has potential to be great, but the grass was so high we lost a few playable balls. I think the rain inhibited them from mowing, but it was crazy bad even still.

Courses in pretty decent shape need to fix the sand bunkers in the course be really nice greens are in great shape a little slow but pretty nice

Nice golf course thats not too far outside of Houston. The staff is really helpful and polite. The rating is 4/5 stars due to the course conditions. The greens are inconsistent, the bunkers are unplayable because of the amount of water they hold. The course layout is challenging enough for the best of players. This is a golf course worth playing.

Most annoying round of golf in my life and I’ve been playing for 25 years. People fishing off of the fairways, people walking, riding bikes, and kids playing literally all over this course. Greens are in awful shape, and the slowest twosome in the history of golf wouldn’t let us play through. Never again

Nice course but the people who live on the course has no class. They wanna talk trash the people who tee off, I would spend money elsewhere before I come back.

New to the area and Southwyck has quickly become my favorite course for practice and play.

This is a decent course, but it is almost completely lined with houses and neighborhood streets.

I have always played this course over the last 20 years; however, I am disappointed with the course conditions. The greens are very spotty and the bunkers are not playable/maintained. If you do hit into a bunker, just consider it ground under repair. There is no sand in the bunkers and some are filled with water. You can lose a golf ball in some bunkers. I will try again next year to see if the course conditions improve.

The rating is only for the condition of the greens. I enjoy the layout, fairways are in good shape, but the greens are in need of some work. I will wait at least a month before I check on the green conditions.

Love the course just need to do something about those greens. Update 2/25/2020. Great job Southwyck. Greens are in much better shape. We will be playing here often now.

Nice and friendly staff. Clubhouse has decent food. I like that they actually use the grill and know what theyre doing.Course is looking great. Links style course definitely has many rolls and challenges. Greens rolled predictably quick but had lots of turf kicked up against the grain. Ruined a few putts for certain.Still feel like its 5 stars though. Service was great.

First one out; got 18 holes in in two hours. Good coffee.

Late April 2019 the greens have been sanded but are still in need of work. Gladly the fees represent this and the price was fair. Starting off from the back nine. We assumed they were working the front. Slow slow play today.

Greens and fairways seem to be declining over time. Good and fun course though. Will return, if the price is right!

Best golf course in PearLand!!

Worst greens in Houston. Will not be coming back. Not one green was playable on the front nine and then they told us we had to play that nine twice for some reason. The guy in the pro shop said nothing about the conditions of the course. All in all the worst golf experience Ive had in years in Houston.

Played this golf course after 3 days of rain. It was in pretty good shape. Carts were able to go 90°, while most golf courses in Houston were doing cart path only.

My dads surprise birthday party was held here. Very elegant and beautiful day. He loved it. We all did!

Solid course and twilight pricing. Can be hot as there is minimal tree coverage as course tends to more of a links style.

To great golf course for the price. Greens are a little down in the winter but they come back in the spring as to be expected. The head pro and I talk to each other like were friends and we hardly even know each other. Very friendly very considerate people. Sometimes you might see somebody famous playing here

Great day of golf

I really like the layout at Southwyck, its a good course and one Ive enjoyed playing over the years. However, I wont be going back anytime soon. The current condition of the greens is appalling, and probably the worst I have seen in any course in Houston in the last decade. Some of them are unplayable, and one hole is on a temporary green as the actual green is black/dead. I am not aware of the issues that has caused this problem, it is certainly not due to the weather as all the houses lining the course have lush gardens at present. The biggest frustration is that there was no mention or acknowledgement of this issue either at the time of booking or check-in, and no discount on green fees was offered. As a minimum the club needs to be informing players before they book of what the condition is. Of course theyre in a tough situation as you dont want to discourage people playing as the club needs the revenue to resolve the problem. I really hope they can figure it out.

IF you can play in the afternoon you will not only play a great course but you will get a good deal on your tee time.. Course is in good shape and the other golfers are out there having fun too.. Water on the course brings challenges to every level of golfer..

Great links style course! Clubhouse leaves a little to be desired, but the Starter is friendly not the traditional surely type. It has a driving range and the price is reasonable. The greens werent great, but playable as of June 2017.

Played on a sunday morning. Decent price for weekend golf, $40. But the course is in rough condition. Greens have little plants growing on them. Never saw a beverage cart. Waited 15 minutes to get a beer in the clubhouse.

We really enjoyed our round today. The fairways were well kept and the greens were true. Really good day.

My networking group met here until we got too large. Rates were reasonable and facility was nice.

In my opinion Southwyck is a great golf course. Especially since they have redone 90 percent of the tee boxes, cut down all the growth around all the lakes, replaced the sod on the driving range and replaced the sand in the hazards. The staff is great. They are very friendly and seem to go our of their way to make your golfing experience special.

Greens have improved a lot over the past year! They are running a special for $25 which includes cart, two draft beers and lunch. Great deal for a neighborhood course!Oct 2017 update: Not the best place for a outing. All participants has drink tickets but couldnt use them for drinks at the cart on the course, only drafts at the club house. Its a small price for hospitality during a corporate outing. Many of the participants were upset. Until they change this policy I would recommend another course for an outing.

This golf course is in very good shape. The greens average speed about 9 to 11. However, the pace of play is slow on the weekend. They do not have active/visible marshalls.

Generous fairways, challenging Par 5s. Scenic, grounds well kept.

Definitely my favorite course in South Houston and Pearland area. Scenic, challenging. Staff is awesome.

Very unimpressed with the practice facilities. They claim to have the best greens in Houston but that has to be a joke.... Guy at the pro shop was very unprofessional and rude. Decided to go play Clear Creek instead.Will never go back here.

Nice course. Greens were in rough shape, but looked like they were in the process being mended.

The greens were in the worst shape that Ive ever seen them. Some fairways had large crevices in them. It needs a lot of watering. I wouldnt recommend playing there anytime soon.

This course is just ok. Ive played a few times and the greens/ fairways are reasonably maintained. The best deal at Southwyck is the unlimited ranges balls at $40.00 a month and was originally why I signed up here. However, the driving range leaves much to be desired and a lot of the range balls are broken. My biggest gripe here though are the Pros at Southwyck and taking lessons with them. If you want a lesson with a pro where all he will do is watch the clock and just tell you what you did wrong and offer no real tangible advice for improving your game then Southwyck is the place for you. It was very frustrating for me being a relatively new player to the game to have a pro that only cared about his money and not about improving my game. At $60 an hour I expect some professionalism. I definitely recommend finding help other places. Ive found the best thing to do if youre looking for lessons is to take some at Wildcat and use Southwyck to save some money for practicing on the range.- So all in all, if youre looking for golf with your budget in mind I think Southwyck will be ok. But if youre looking for decent practice facilities/lessons I definitely recommend taking the 10 minutes drive north to Wildcat.

This is a very nice course and its also challenging to most amateur golfers. The one drawback is that it is one of the slowest played courses around. Be prepared for a 5 hour golf round due to slow play.

Good layout, but this course is in horrible shape! Greens are VERY bad, bumpy, and diseased. Fairways very thin and dry, and traps are very poor... disgusting to see a once very good course in such putiful shape. I live less than two blocks from this course and will NEVER play it again!

Its okay, but I will not be back for a while. Its frustrating as a Players Club Member to be treated so badly and informed so poorly about what is going on at the course. For $45 per month of unlimited range balls and discounted green fees its not worth the poor service and lack of course up keep. They just changed GMs which was probably needed, but to not notify the people that pay you on a re-occurring basis of the the change in management and the change in range time operations and the change in twilight time is just poor service in my opinion. Why wouldnt want to promote a management change to improve members outlook of the course? Ive played there several times over the last year and I know the regular green fee is pretty steep. For greens that have fungus and tee boxes that are over grown. This could be a really great course with improved management and service. Anytime you complain the guys working the proshop get defensive and start blaming management. Really all I care about is you hearing my complaint and giving me a follow up. I noticed one of the posters on here mention about tournaments and over the course of the last year theyve had a tournament it seems like every weekend and week day I went to play. No big deal I will go 10 minutes down the road to Clear Creek.

The worst shape I have ever seen this course in. Very, very disappointed in the maintenance of it. They need to hire about 5-10 proper, well trained men to maintain course!!!!! Very, very disappointed. .........

I have played this course back in January and everything was great......The course was great much more difficult than the course at Bear Creek which is pretty much my home course because its around the course. So Yesterday March 7th I went to play a round, after warming up i was informed that a tournament was taking place. So the associate in the pro shop made me aware that i might not be able to get on the course (after my card was swiped) He gave me to talk to the starter which wasnt a big deal. The starter told me to find a hole on the back 9 where i could find some room. That which i had done (12th Hole).....Well after i played one hole i proceeded to the next hole where i was about to tee off the marshall approaches me saying that you cant be here I feel like there was a better way to inform me instead of saying that i couldnt be here, like i was less of a person than him. I informed him that i was told to pick a hole on the back 9 to start on. He demanded to see my receipt, instead of being fair he wanted to be an ass. And i have a very short temper. The hole was completely empty which means it had room. The group in the tournament which hadnt reached the 12th green yet were the ones who called in and i guess said i jumped in front of them. He wanted to leave.....so at this point i really dont care, i paid to be here, after arguing with him for 10 minutes he finally says i can either put you on the front of the course where most of the people from the tournament were at or give you a refund. I drove off and headed to the pro shop and the sales associate took care of me. He was great the entire time so i wish him the best. This is a very nice course but i will never ever come back to this place again. I felt like he treated me differently because im african american (no im not one who always tries to pull the race card ), i saw plenty of other non tournament players tee off before me. If there was a valid reason for him to ask me to move to another hole then that wouldnt have been a problem but to say you cant be here just isnt the way to do it!
