Our company has worked at JPL for over 50 years and it is great to be a small part of the support of space exploration and the advancement of scientific knowledge. A great place to take your kids on a school field trip or to visit when they have their annual open house. Lots of cool stuff to see!

There are no words to describe how incredible it is to be able to know a NASA building, especially JPL, where extremely competent people come together for the sake of science for the evolution of humanity. The building itself is from Caltech, but everything that is done in it is for NASA, so it can be said to be in fact in it.The guided tour is for hardcore nerds, lasts 3 hours and has a lot of explanation. I was fascinated and ended the tours wishing there was more, but my wife was tired at the end of the tour. So consider this, not for everyone, but even tired, my wife loved the visit.No wonder, it is a great privilege to know a little more about the place that sends probes and satellites into space, it is the central control of everything that man sent to space and is from the moon ahead, with people who are very serious about everything they do, being able to see it all up close is a tremendous privilege, especially for children, who can get in touch with such deep subjects while they are very young.The souvenir shop is also very cool, several authentic NASA swags to flaunt around the world.Plan your visit in advance and schedule on the site, do not miss the opportunity to meet the JPL!----Português BRNão existem palavras para descrever o quão incrível é poder conhecer um prédio da NASA, especialmente o que abriga a JPL, onde pessoas extremamente competentes se juntam em prol da ciência para a evolução da humanidade. Second time there since mid-March. It was a great place to work. Saw this guy on the way out

I do not know how to describe this. My friend’s dad’s friend works on the Curiosity Rover, and two summers ago I got a behind the scenes tour of the facility. I saw the new rover being built, the Curiosity and Opportunity control stations (REMEMBER, this is 2018). The only thing I would wish I had seen was the Mars Yard, which is where the test the rivers and other equipment. If you can get a behind the scenes tour, please do yourself a favor and do so!

Went on a field trip with my sons 4th grade class! The tour staff is excellent! Spoke loud enough for everyone to hear, kept the kids quiet when needed, organized group picture opportunities, and answered many questions! It was so exciting because we were able to see the Mars 2020 Rover!!!

Witnessing Insight Landing with my son was such an off the charts, once in a lifetime experience here.

My review is gonna be biased because I work here cool place to work at, even cooler people to work with.

I had a great time at JPL, I definitely could spend a whole week here if they would let me.A word of warning is very hot here when they are having the open house so bring water a hat and sunscreen.Got to explore part of the campus and got to speak with some of the people that are really important, one employee was in charge of the Cassini mission and he gave us some special pin and information.I will definitely be going back as often as I can this was a very fun exploration.

Pretty amazing, grateful to have had a tour - seeing the rover and satellites up close makes the science really come to life. Beautiful campus.

What an awesome tour! The guide was very informative, fast paced with information and talked very quickly which I like. He was very eloquent and well versed in his knowledge. The facility was great, peaceful and wonderful to see. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to know more about the NASA jet Propulsion Laboratory facility.

I have never been to the jpl but I would love to see the place I am interested in this subject

Visiting JPL is one of the highlights of my life. Watching spacecraft components being assembled is fascinating. The staff members are friendly and informative. The campus is beautiful. If youre a space exploration nerd, this should be on your short list of places to visit.

Review of weekday tour-There is too much time spent watching the intro video. Someone one going to a JPL tour is already space enthusiast; we all know about the planets. Make the video shorter and focus on JPL. The guides rushed us in and out of each area and did not allow time to take pictures. Spend less time telling cute stories and more time letting people take pictures. Ask tour participants in front to trade with those in back so everyone gets time to take pictures with Mission Control, vehicle assembly, etc behind them. Most of my tour was looking at the back of peoples heads.

Excellent science facility, extreme cleanliness, extremely intelligent staff. Brilliant discoveries and breakthroughs (including their work for many of NASAs missions of which JPL is a big contributor) JPL is the absolute best place to be especially during liftoffs and during its annual explore JPL events.

This is a great place to visit. There is a small museum with scale satellites and a nice gift shop. Be prepared to do some walking. It is a sprawling campus.

The NASA JPL campus is really cool to visit when they have their open house once a year. You can see some really cool exhibits of all the technology did they work on. All the staff are employees who really seemed to enjoy what they do and are very happy to explain it to everyone passing through. It really fun day for me and my kids who love space and everything about space travel.

It is the most amazing place in Earth to work if you like science and doing the impossible!

My battries are low, its getting darkI was only supposed to last 90 days.Instead, me, this hardy little robot lasted FIFTEEN YEARS.Fifteen years of science and exploration.I was finally lost to a dust storm, so, as humans (who will pack bond with anything) do, wish me sweet dreams and thanks for all the science.

I live nearby and watch NOVA videos about space.At times, I am in their space exploration on their channel on my tv, dont ask me hoFascinating research!

Having grown up through the 60s and 70s I was familiar with the JPL so when I found out tours are available I jumped at the chance to visit.The tour takes in mission control, assembly building and the museum. The guide is very knowledgeable and questions encouraged.Its a city or campus depending on your view and 6000 people work here. Security is strict but not over bearing.Parking is limited and beware that the souvenir shop closes before the tour ends.

Really awesome and fun place to go for space nuts! The tour was out of this world and provided a lot of information from how to stars are birthed to how they launched the first American into space. Would go again!

Visiting JPL was one of the most amazing single experiences of my life. To see so many people on this gigantic campus, all working together towards a shared goal was a truly humbling experience. If you ever get the chance to visit, do.

They open to the public once a year and it is a must that you attend because what they showcase is amazing! Try to get there early for your own driving and parking summary. There is not much shade so plan for that and bring plenty of water.

This stellar facility is open to tours for the public, where they show you incredibly interesting hardware, locations, and educate you with super information on space, Earth, and history. Everyone is incredibly nice, friendly and eager to share. There are different types of tours - ranging from public, to social media and press specific. Regardless of the type you go on, prepare to be blown away by some of the amazing things youll see! JPL has multiple buildings spread across their campus, so look for statues, plaques, architecture and more.Pro tip - there are a some great Ingress portals here, hack away!!!

Really nice grounds, employees are very friendly and helpful. Not sure what they do though, the earth is flat it should be easy to launch things into space.....

Was fortunate enough to tour the facilities in early June 2016 when they opened the campus to the public. It was simply incredible. It was so well organized, and all the scientists and their wonderful exhibits make for such great role models for my 7 year old daughter. Thanks for having us.

The JPL open house is a MUST SEE for the science fan of any age. Words cannot describe the access, the science, and the people. The people make the event- the director of solar system exploration standing there chatting about the subject, the person who manages Cassini just chatting about developing the program with our family was a once in a lifetime experience.

One time i went to space. it was fine.

This is a great place to visit. If you want a tour though, there is a six month waiting list. However you can go up there to get your NASA gifts, and you might see a few dear while you are there.You will see the sister of the Mars machine which they test on some red dirt which is meant to replicate the Mars environment. There areas with memorabilia, but most of the lab are REAL projects they are working on. It is a great place to visit if you are into Space stuff.

I came here on a school field trip. The engineers here are probably our worlds finest innovators. They are up all night working hard to complete projects and discover new things. It really amazing me visiting this place, you get to see so many awesome things. If you want to plan an awesome trip, I would suggest giving the Jet Propulsion Laboratory a go.

Went on the open house day or whatever. Miserable experience because there were simply too many people (took 3 hours to get in even though we arrived before they opened, and then there were more lines inside). You would think these rocket scientists would plan this stuff better.

Only once or twice a year they open the doors to the public. Its really popular so make sure you come in super early or wont even make it in.

Well I was not allowed access into jpl. I have mentor who was an engineer for general dynamics. I was then prompted to take the bike trails to the man made dam in the back of jpl about 5 miles in . I loved it and I will be returning with others in the future..

I went here on Saturday October 10, 2015 for a clas project. It was amazing my classmates and I were awe struck with everything we saw. We are all STEM majors and this just motivated us to continue on and push hard to achieve all the things these scientist at these LABS are doing.

Fascinating insights into space exploration science,very informative docents, but extremely crowded during public access day. Will visit again.

Very nice place! Going agin every summer

One of the absolute highlights of our 3 months in the USA. Cant believe it was free. The tour started with a talk by a very passionate and engaging JPL staff member, was followed by a short film, a walk through a small but impressive museum room with life-size replicas of several of their space craft (who knew voyager was sooo large!) then a short stroll through CalTecs pretty grounds to mission control and finally ending up in the clean room where the next generation of rovers and other craft are being built. Inspiring nerdgasm.

JPL is a true gem of Pasadena. They are on the cutting edge of space exploration and interstellar technology. Tours are great and always extremely informational. Definitely try to get a tour, its not easy though.

Was really excited to bring my future astronaut but the reception we got was horrible. We were unaware of the 6 month tour reservation and the lady at the desk was miserable to us and made my daughter cry at her sheer rudeness.

LOVE, love, LOVE! I wish I could give it 10 stars.I went to JPLs website and learned that they offer FREE tours every month. You have to sign up and the wait list is about 4 months. But it is well worth it. The summer months in Pasadena are HOT, so beware. If your tour falls between July and September, bring lots of drinking water and sunscreen.The tour varies, but you might see the Mission Control room, watch a few videos, or hear a brief lecture or two. You might even walk past one of your favorite engineers. Make sure your camera is fully charged, youll want to take lots of pictures.The Visitor Center is, how should I say this? Simply incredible.

JPL is a fantastic institution that allows aspiring engineers to get hands-on experience with actual ongoing and future space exploration missions. As a former intern with three summers under his belt I can say, with much enthusiasm and confidence, that I learned so much from bright engineers who inspired me to reach for the stars and dare mighty things. If the stars are aligned in your favor, definitely apply for an internship or fellowship!

Amazing place with immense knowledge about the universe. Staff was very supportive. They showed us insight of place.

After an employee asked to see my phone with a photo of my passport as a form of ID, a different employee from the security section came back holding my phone giving me an attitude for no reason saying dont give him your phone, its a liability issue. Ok well he clearly asked to see my phone so he can look at it so she was wrong about that. I was there for a school field trip for a tour of the facility from 11am to 2pm, I got there around 11:30 and was told to wait for the security department to open at noon, so I wait for them in the lobby to get back to me because my photo was under review whether they would let me in or not, they never got back to me by the time the field trip was already over at 2pm. The supervisor who was supposed to look at my photo apparently never did. They told me to show some form of my ID in order get in, thats exactly what I did. Overall the 2 people who particularly spoke with me were just rude and unhelpful. If I was to go back Id bring every form of my ID, even if theyre unnecessary and expired.

Hi,the biggest challenge for the space ship and space walk is cosmic radiations, witch we are protected here on earth ,because of our magnetic field created by our own earth,the question i have is: why dont we build the magnetic field to cover any space ship ( manned or unmanned ) to protect it from those cosmic radiations pushed to it by our sun or coming from near stars in our galaxy , and here we reduce the shield we build around the ship to protect it form that? and then the weight for this ship will be less and we can add more equipment and it will be safe for the astronauts in the space.regardsM. Now that Disney has raised their prices on annual passes, were looking for a cheap place to entertain the curious mind of our 10-year old, and i stumbled upon the free open house that JPL is offering this weekend!! But no, thats not the only reason for the visit.. it sounds very interesting, especially with the new discoveries on Mars, and we are hoping to add our names to the waiting list for that trip to Mars

Im going there on March 21 for my 6th grade field trip. My teacher says it is a awesome(awsum) place. I am really exited.

JPL might be a good laboratory, but their Visitor Day Tour disappointed me.The tour lasts 2.5 hours, of which about a half is spent on watching a movie about JPL. Then the visitors are brought into a small room from where they can look, through a glass, at an area where some apparatus are being assembled. That is, there is a big room with half-finished apparatus and other equipment and some people around working. This part of the tour takes a few minutes. The tour continues at a museum, where there are several models of various spacecraft, as well as life-size replicas of two Martian rovers (Sojourner and Opportunity/Spirit). Then the visitors proceed into a mission control center which is empty most of the time, so there is a large empty room with several screens showing some telemetry information. The last stop is a life-size replica of Curiosity rover.Overall, I expected them to offer much more to the visitors. Ah, and you need to schedule a tour at least five months or so in advance.

JPL rolls out the red carpet once a year and it is worth braving the crowds to get a look at the cutting edge of technology and space exploration. Many of the labs and workshops are open and the people who actually build and work on the space probes and satellites are on hand to talk about their missions and how the spacecraft are built. Be sure to get there early as the event is always packed to the gills.If they offer it, be sure to take the shuttle bus up to the deep space simulator building where you can see the giant vacuum chamber where spacecraft are stress tested before heading off into space. If you really want to make someones day, have your kids bring a space science book and ask the engineers and scientists for autographs. My daughter did that one year and I cant tell you how happy they were that someone thought so highly of them. I cant think of a better way to say thank you to them for all they do that goes unrecognized.

Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is doing pioneering research for Govt. agency, NASA and is part of CALTECH in Pasadena, California. Physicists and Engineers produce high technology solutions both for manned and unmanned flights to Moon, Mars and others, exploring existence of life on the other planets. Physicists believe for every matter based planet such as Earth, there may me a planet composed of antimatter (not yet discovered). Great museum, awesome tour!

JPL is the best place in the world if youre a physicist or an aerospace engineer. (especially if you dont mind government-powered clumsiness and bureaucracy).

It is amazing! I went to go help my daughter with a Job Shadowing project!

It is a shame we are not permitted to see the final orbit photos of Ceres even though we paid for them. Like the moon close ups , there might have been evidence of extra-terrestials. Such evidence always makes NASA go into lockdown mode. It might be time for NASA to be de-funded, and replaced with private enterprise.

It was really fun, but the tour guide went in to a bit to much detail...

I am going to there tomorrow I hope it will be fun but as I an see it will be fantastic
