This organization has repeatedly gone out and found unqualified people to be refs and continue showing little effort to correct this problem. If you want kids to learn a sport referring is as important as anything else. These people that you have reffing your games are very low quality and have minimal basketball knowledge. Please fix this for the kids coming up through your program...
Great organization that gives kids an opportunity to learn and be competitive.
Absolute failure for a basketball camp. I wouldnt even give this camp a one star but have no choice. The camp is run by their national director named Jack Love and It is very unorganized. My son attended this camp and unlike most parents who just dropped off their kids for the day, I observed the camp for most of the week. Heres my take: 1). The coaches seemed more interested in showing off camper then teaching them basics and fundamentals of the game. 2). As much experience and practice as theyve had running these camps, Jack had to huddle with coaches between each sessions for almost 5-10 minutes while kids are sitting there in a line and getting bored and losing interest. 3). The most disappointing part is coaches are more interested in competing/beating each other in scrimmage games vs. making sure that every kid on their team gets some playing time, hence, keeping the kid motivated and having fun. Coaches definitely have their favorites.I may be overly critical because of my background in coaching youth basketball. However, I will not enroll my kid in this program for him to lose interest in the game of basketball. My son loves the game and he has been coming home crying about not wanting to go to this camp again. The point of these camps is to learn the game while having fun. Its about the kids and NOT coaches.
