If you have time left then you can go...The exterior was really cool with all those remains of Poseidons world. The show itself was pretty well done. The actor was funny and energetic with lots of dry humor and dad jokes. He kept us engaged the whole time and made sure to interact with the audience. Theres also some cool special effects at the end that make up for a lot of the corny-ness.the guide was very personable! He made it exciting and interesting. We entered this attraction cluelessly because it had a short wait, but we had a blast! The lines were cheesy, according to other reviews, but I considered it witty and humorous. Theme parks have a theme, and this attractions theme is a temple of Poseidon. Next, there are effects that some people wont notice. The doors made of several circles that all line up when it opens, the rooms that get bigger when you cant see, things like that. The water tunnel is super cool as well. At the end of the final scene, the water is on fire! However, standing for the whole show is pretty draining, and people were packed in there like sardines. Seating in at least one of the areas would have made this much more enjoyable. We had an amazing experience!

Not a terrible attraction, but the inaccuracy of wait time makes it the worst experience. The host was letting ONLY express pass holders and leaving the regular line folks waiting for the next show and the next show... Time posted was 55 minutes and we left after 1 hour and 30 minutes. The announcements made by the crew cannot be understood due to heavy echo and poor design of the PA system. This ride is overdue for renovation or complete removal in favor of a modern attraction.

My husband worked on this project and it is truly one of the best I have ever seen (not because my husband worked on it) because it just is. Universal Orlando is my most favorite park . Ive been to a few. The fire effects, simulation, its just amazing. We are bringing our grandaughter there in a couple of weeks- my only hope is that Universal will have this attraction open by June 22nd so we can share this with her.

We were at this show today and in the middle of it the performer ran off the stage out the exit door, then they made us evacuate. I thought something was wrong after we went through the giant water centrifuge because the place was smelling like sulfur. After waiting in line an hour for the ride, this was a disappointment. I’m pretty sure the place had a chemical / fire related malfunction.

Honestly can’t think of anything good to say about this “show”. Me and my teen daughter asked the attendant at the front of it was a ride and she said no, that it was about a 20 min show. We figured we could use some sitting time so went in. We were second in line and after being ushered into a room & packed in AND made to stand against a wall in the back while everyone else was lined in front of us, we realized there would be no sitting...as well as hardly seeing. Being cramped into room afterroom with cheesy effects, we just kept wishing it would end; the rooms were freezing, kids were crying. This dated show really needs to be redone and made into something else...maybe a 1 room show with effects and seats!

Taylor is probably the only thing worth watching in this show. I mean this guy needs a raise for keeping the show alive. Although my favorite Greek God is Poseidon and it’s what attracted me here in the first place (besides the astonishing views) it was so underwhelming. The special effects are “ok” and definitely need updating. The whole show is standing up and very unsafe when getting off the rails (since everyone wants to move at the same time) the water tunnel although a very cool concept unfortunately when we went (just yesterday) it smelled like sewage and I felt like I needed a shower after that. I would love to see this attraction get some much needed attention, love and care (and updating).

I wanted to give this thrill tour 4 stars but after further review it deserves 5. I was tired and with my 9yr old niece. I had no idea what to expect but from the outside it looked amazing. Ppl say its dated but I found it suited the whole story. I mean, the story is from a long time ago. It didnt have the state of the art effects with simulators and multiple giant screens like every other ride. It has better. It has real effects like the old jaws ride. You feel the heat of the fire and the water that explodes from the stage. The real water tunnel, real tour guide and after it was all said and done I thought it was a 4 star experience. I hoped my niece enjoyed it even though it wasnt about a superhero like spiderman or the hulk. Turned out she enjoyed it more than I did. She actually said it was the best ride in the park. I was shocked and knew at that moment it just became a 5 star experience. Theres no more honest review than one from a kid who just wants to be entertained. Theyre not looking at how dated something is, if the acting is perfect, or if theres seating or not. This really is the most unique experience youll find at IOA.

This is the best attraction at Universal Orlando. It is better then Potter. Notice How I didnt say ride because its not a ride, its an experience. This is better done then any ride could have done it. The show is a effects show with outstanding effects that are amazing to watch. While most people do it for the amazing water tunnel or the rolling door that lines up to get into the tunnel, the finnialy is the best part. You will be wowed by the sear intensity of the effects of the finally. While some do look a bit on the older side, considering how well it still looks will leave you breathless. This attraction deserves to get an award for the finally. The experience highly depends on how well your tour guide plays the roll of Taylor. I have had amazing guides and terrible guides. But that is true for any show of his style. And even with terrible tour guides on he rare account it happens, the attraction still leaves me speechless when I walk out. And combined with the campy jokes of the script, you never truly can have a bad time on this. The biggest complaint I hear is that you have to stand the long hard 15 minutes during the duration of this. I never found thi to be a problem. Its a great break from the heat since its always 65 degrees in it and the line is full of chairs. Also, there are railings to leans on in the showrooms. A ride of this style simply would not be able to get everybody out of each showroom in time for the story to make since or for good capacity for this attraction so it makes sense there are no chairs in it.So to conclude, this gets so much unjustified hate. While it might not be as known as Harry Potter and might not be as well thought out as JP River Adventure, this is the best attraction in Orlando. You will walk away speechless.

First of all, we thought it was a water ride (and we werent the only ones!) and since we were already soaked after Popeyes Bilge ride, we though wed give it a try.... Well, to say this was a disappointment, is to say nothing at all. We were soaking wet and freezing in AC environment as well as several other people, because no one warned us at the entrance that this was some cringy performance for a lame story. People left in droves and many more refused to go after we told them it wasnt a ride of any kind.Facade is awesome, but gives the wrong impression. Get rid of that bad acting and put in a water ride or a water thrill ride or smth along those lines if you really want people to experience the story. It would hell of a lot more entertaining and exciting...

Firstly, im shocked by all the negative reviews on this WALKING TOUR, poseidons fury. something so brilliantly written, choreographed and performed in a jaw dropping set does NOT deserve this type of backlash. i was drawn in by the beautiful architecture outside.......but little did i know i was about to be faced with a once in a lifetime performance. the actor who played taylor really gave it his all. im honestly shocked he hasnt been discovered, acting that perfect needs more recognition. he conveyed terror when DARKENO, the main antagonist of the A+ plot, flipped off the lights. i kid you not, i have never been in a darker room. the second chambers set was absolutely insane in the best way. when the large doors in front of us opened and revealed the stunning blue water tunnel, spiraling out to the last chamber, i couldnt help but shed a tear at the sight. the grand finale of the tour features a massive battle between Darkeno and poseidon, and let me just sayit was unforgettable...my heart was throbbing in my chest as the two battled, taylor being left on the floor to fight for himself against darkenos massive bursts of fire. the special effects were arguably the best in the park, hell, the best in florida.for all of you poseidons fury haters: what the hell are you doing at an amusement park, where you walk a good 10 miles a day, if youre going to complain about StAnDiNg ThE wHoLe TiMe or PoWeRfUl AC. suck it up, and admit to yourself that there is no show in the world this awesome.thank you

Is it a must see? Yes, it absolutely is. But, so are most things at the park. I wont say this is the best thing they have, but you should go into it for several reasons. One, the architecture/scenery. Very cool, and if you cant appreciate that kind of thing and only want roller coasters, perhaps theme parks arent your thing. Theme parks have a theme, and this attractions theme is a temple of Poseidon. Next, there are effects that some people wont notice. The doors made of several circles that all line up when it opens, the rooms that get bigger when you cant see, things like that. The water tunnel is super cool as well. However, the cheesy nature, predictable plot and overacting of the cast only serve to aid in a fantastic walking attraction which is nearly 20 years old! If you take time to really look at this ride and not just go for the crash-bang-wallop it is truly beautiful and a masterclass in set design and technical achievement not to mention a well needed respite from the relentless Floridian sun.Undoubtedly, it will not be here forever, and as new technology allows engineers and designers to create more enriching and engaging attractions the whole area will be reimagined into something else. until that day comes I tip my hat to you Universal, thank you for this masterpiece.

This is my favorite ride at Universal. I get nostalgic for the awesomely enthusiastic guides that tell the story of Poseidon. They engage the crowd, and interact professionally and wisely. It competes if not entirely outclasses more modern attractions that seem to have a more hamfisted implementation. This ride has had alot of time to grow and develop, yet doesnt have the cultural clout that some franchises have recently brought to the park. Regardless, it continues to be the one ride that magically pops in my head one day, reminding of the magic I felt when I first went as a kid. Pros: The exterior of the building looks incredible. Good set design. There are some really impressive special effects here. Our guide was acting his butt off.Cons/Nitpicks: For all the great special effects, there isnt a enough of a good story to make the audience care. The goddess character just kinda comes out of nowhere? Some poor actor had to put Lord Darkenon on his resume. Someone needs to tell Poseidon that you dont try to whack your opponent with the side of your trident. Tridents are for stabbing, dummy. (SPOILER) For that matter: Over the course of thousands of years, Poseidon couldnt figure out that his prized golden trident was in plain sight in the next room over? Is he lazy or stupid? Its for kids is not an excuse. The children on the ride didnt react any more than their parents did. This was definitely me and my fiances least favorite experience of our Orlando trip. We got a lot of entertainment value out of laughing at the words Lord Darkenon, however.Suggestions: Keep the effects and sets, but frame the show with a better story. Im no themeparkrideologist, but I cant imagine it would be very difficult to switch out the video assets and give the actor/actress guides a new script to work from.

As someone studying technical theater back here in the UK, this was absolutely amazing. way better than some bunch of actors standing about wittering on about love and smeg. give me big fireballs and water explosions, thats what i say...the crew member/ actor (or whatever they call them) who led the audience around was, in my opinion at least, very funny. he had some great lines of dialogue and interacted with the audience very well.the structure of the show is that you enter under the pretense of a guided tour of an archaeological excavation where they have found Atlantis. or something to that effect,. you have a quick chat with the guide (an intern or at least a worker with little experience. thats not me insulting the guy thats just his character) who explains that posieden was had a battle with an evil lord called lord darkenon who posieden defeated.lord darkenon comes along and locks you in the room, leaving you only 1, newly opened exit to a new chamber, where posieden or at least some lady shows up and leads you to the next room through a water tunnel, allowing you into the final chamber where the posieden and lord darkenon have a battle. the effects in my opinion are all quite clever, from the water tunnel (a big drum where water is fired around the circumference at high pressure from under the bridge you walk over) to an expanding room (in the final chamber, it seems like a small room but then with a flash of light (from a big blinder centered in the middle of the room), after your eyes have finished adjusting from it, the room has grown to be a huge chamber. this is done by the outer walls being raised very quickly into the ceiling, with the roof pattern of the room fitting perfectly with some of the details on the ceiling.i think this show has a low rating because people dont like the style of show, and after being annoyed by the fact of having to stand after getting used to sitting for all the other shows around they take there anger out by trying to pick holes wherever they can. we all do it, whether we mean to or not, but since i feel this is the case, let me give you a warning.THIS IS PROMENADE SHOW: this means the show is done with the audience walking around and as such it is not possible for you to sit down at any point. think about it like this, the point of the style of show is to help you feel like part of the action, and to seat an audience means removing them from the action since they would need to ensure everyone was seated, as well as adding lots of health and safety alterations to the show. if a fire starts its easy to evacuated an audience that is already stood up and with the amount of effects in this, id say thats a fire price to pay compared to death.in other words, would you go to blue man group if you did not like audience participation? would you go on the Hollywood rip ride rocket if you didnt like heights? would you go to Halloween horror nights if you were a big scaredy cat? well i would because im a complete and total idiot, but it doesnt mean its a bad show. it just means some people dont the way it works.if your fine with standing and would love to see some great pyrotechnics water effects and projection mapping. i highly recommend viewing this show. its one of my favorites and if i ever go back to america i will be sure to watch it again!unless its been replaced by another smeggy 4d ride... but thats another problem. ;-)i should add photography and videography are not allowed on this ride. people with pictures from it on here are just rebels. dont be a rebel. unless your at disneyworld in the star wars bit... :3 its a health and safety thing. for your health.

You may be speechless walking away from this amazing attraction, but I guarantee you will be talking about it for hours afterward! This Action Show starts deep underwater in Poseidon’s temple, where your tour guide mixes expertise with witty humor as they await the return of the archeology professor who has mysteriously gone missing. After some awesome clues are uncovered you will be lead deeper into the temple where the real show begins! This ride doesn’t bother with seats as the ride experts at universal knew in advance guests would be far too excited to sit down. Here the adventure takes a serious turn as your tour guide finds Poseidon’s trident, and an ancient mystic unleashes wisdom and lasers, and sends you even further into the temple! Of course some real danger is upcoming but It’s too early to reveal all these details. The next scene is a highlight of the ride as you travel through a raging water tunnel carved from the deep ocean. The engineers at universal have lovingly recreated the smell of deep ocean creatures as you journey through this amazing tunnel. Finally the real show begins! Poseidon mortal enemy, Darknut the wizard, appears and demands Poseidon’s trident, wow! Your tour guide does her best to hold off this amazing enemy, but his fireballs are too much for mere mortals. But soon enough Poseidon is summoned by the trident, and of course a furious battle ensues. As with any real battle things are very chaotic, the fire and water unleashed by these true titans will leave you confused and wondering what’s happening. The dialogue leave no doubt these guys mean business, they get straight to the point! No wasted lines or fancy words here, just true men of battle! It’s hard to see what is happening at times, but what else would you expect while in an ancient temple at the bottom of the ocean? This isn’t some imax theatre, it’s truly a realistic experience! And guess what, Poseidon prevails! The looks on everyone’s faces as they exit this overwhelming event was worth the ticket price, as we all gave each other knowing looks that we just shared something we would never forget. Race to this as soon as the park opens, it is so worth it.
