Seemed very weird, not having the crowd that we always do. The play was very good, great actors and actresses. Weve been members for fifteen years, we love being members, have met a lot of other members.

Fantastic! We are so LUCKY to have such an amazing theater in our town. They take the experience of live theater above and beyond. Everything here seams to be top of the line, great quality, and super accommodating. I saw Pump Boys and The Dinnetes and it was a-maz-ing. The small cast played all their own instruments and everyone was phenomenal. This is the Ocala Civic Theaters 70th year and the lobby has a beautiful installation commemorating the rich history of the Marion County Players and the theater itself. I never knew so many well known industry professionals have graced our presence! As for social distancing and maintaining safe practices, they appear to be going above and beyond here, as well. Masks are required and social distancing is enforced through staggered seating. They moved concessions outside and everyone working is wearing masks and gloves. They do this super cute thing with the seats where they put donors faces on cardboard people to aid in spacing in the theater. Every other row is blocked off entirely and they are running at about 25% capacity. They are doing an amazing job keeping everyone involved safe and healthy. I am grateful my family has such a special and artistically enriching place we can still go to.

Unfortunately this event was not very enjoyable. We took the kids and had to sit outside even though theyre was only 12 people in the audience. We paid for tickets to a Halloween act, but it turned out to just be one lady telling stories on a stage. They started it very corny and started to get to long for the kids. This was a waste of time and money, the story teller was mediocre at best.

Nice small theater with local talent. Since it is smaller, every seat in the house has a good view of the stage. I thought the ticket prices were reasonable ($27). We went on Valentines Day 2020 to see Forever...Patsy Cline and enjoyed the show. The two ladies that stared in the show did a good job, as well as their back up band. I look forward to seeing more productions at this theater.

I love the O.C.T., but did not enjoy With Love, Patsy Cline. If it is a two woman show with Patsy singing 27 songs, you should have chosen an exceptional singer. The stars are for the theater. They do an exceptional job.

A wonderful venue. The Acoustics were great in the venue is a perfect size for a more intimate production. I feel comfortable saying theres not a bad seat in the house.Stephen Langs One Man Show Beyond Glory was truly a worthwhile production. Lester Lanes seamless transition from One Medal of Honor winner to another was Master be performed. He was both respectful, and sensitive in both his delivery and in his treatment of the subject matter. Is nuanced performance really added so much more to the production.

The Ocala Civic Theatre is an integral part of the culture heritage of what is now rapidly growing city. With an incredibly talented and dedicated group of both paid staff and unpaid volunteers providing wonderfully produced and directed productions from what is typically an all volunteer cast. (Keepnin mind this also is a 503C non-profit organization) I truly believe you will be entertained and inspired by the passion and skill that our fellow Ocalans display as they bring so many different stories to life in front of you on stage. So get out and go see a play, oh and take the kids, maybe they put their phone away for a few hours!

I love this place. It is small as far as seating is concerned but the productions are huge. The seat do need some updating but there is plenty of leg room. If you do have to get up during a performance there is plenty of light to find your way. There is ample spacing for those in wheelchairs or those that need special seating. The Ocala Civic Theatre is a non profit organization and it is great to see the community ensure it stay open with great productions. Cant wait to see Swan Lake in April.

We saw The Foreigner. It was funny, had good actors & good story. The set was great. The only reason for 4 stars is that the seats are very small(but they will be replacing them soon, and the person who answered my wifes call to the ticket office was not very friendly and kept repeating back incorrect information. Overall it was a great experience.

We live an hour from the theater, but have been to a half dozen plays over the last two years. We have never been disappointed. Last night we went to see Mamma Mia and were not disappointed. We went to see “Be More Chill”. It was Rated PG 13. First the good. I felt the actors, music and especially the singing was great. There was talent and more than a few great voices, however. The play is not PG 13 and should have been rated R. There is inappropriate content, language and gestures. Too bad too, the play could have been good but as in so many cases, the direction and writing lack the talent to be truely funny, so they turn to crude and vial language and a gutter-dragging though processes. The leadership, direction and writing in this play destroys true community theater, and leaves in its place this sad attempt at humor.John
