Still one of my favorites. Picturesque and challenging but forgiving enough for all skill levels. Greens were soft and receptive after a lot of rain, still in great shape. Standing water in the bunkers, blame all the rain. Great experience. Just dont give them your email address unless you want 4+ emails a day lol.

My daughter is doing First Tee here on Saturdays. Its an amazing country club and the people there are amazing.

A great layout and golf design for a course built in 1970s. Pace of play was quick. Pricing was unbelievable. Only complaint was the pace of the greens was slow. Probably stimping around a 7 but it may be due to high temps and the need to keep grass on the greens, I dont know as Im not a greens keeper, but the the course overall was in excellent shape.

Always enjoy playing here. Course is in nice shape but very wet from all the rain.

New carts

Fairways are nice. Greens bounce. Members/friends get their own cart, everyone else has to share a cart.

Other then the cart paths the course was great

The place is very well kept. Its so beautiful there. The bartenders are always the best, make you feel like family. I would recommend!!! I would also have my wedding there when the time comes!! Shannon is the best tho!!!

Great course, was once qualifying course for LPGA US open, great character, for all levels of play.

Visuals are amazing. Shannon meets alllll of my needs. Great course. Will is incredibly knowledgeable about the how a course should be maintained. All around a great place to play Golf!!

Decent course, lots of scenery, and good fairways. I would like to make bote though, the greens are very squishy. You cant really fly the pin and voice back, its more of a bottom of the pin and roll. Just making that clear (reason for the 4 stars). But overall good course, it is quite the challenge.

All I can say is WOW from a caters point of view.. Aug 23rd was our first time catering an event at this venue. The Ballroom seats 120 ppl with an Adjoining Room Dance floor area off the main Ballroom with easy Access and full views from the Ballroom. Another nice feature is that a buffet reception line is also off the main Ballroom as well with easy access to the outside terrace from both the Ballroom and food reception area .This allows all guests to have more room in the main Ballroom to mix and mingle . The sales staff is great to work with and went out of thier way at our Final meeting with the Bride and Groom , DJ , event planner an Photographer as well as myself the cater. Great job Country Club of Silver Springs Shores...

Awesome golf course , they treat ya like family and they have the best skins game around 3 times a week. Just show up and youll be put in a group or bring a 4 some

The shores is a challenging golf course for the low handicap to the beginner.It offers some of the most beautiful surroundings in this area and is fun to play.Highly recommend you give it a try

Over all the courses in good shape around 18 was the worst green out of all of them .....around the greens are in good shape rain has done this course some justice for the grass and fairways ... verta cut like 3 weeks ago .... just about every trap is a pool of water which is a real down side ... but who wants to play out of a bunker anyway .... with all the rain we have had its not unusual at this course ....some of the fairways have standing water across them ..... grass in tee boxes is about a 5 at least at the blues where I played today ..... fairways around 6 to 7 as long as you are in the fairway .... its deep and long stringy grass to the left and the right as usual so you better hit it straight .... greens are soild 7 to 8 ....they play slow and ball sticks when it lands so go for the pin and get rewarded ... over all the course is in better shape than it has been in the past..... would play it again .....good to see the owners and staff working hard to keep it up ...

Food wasnt that great. Everything else was fine. We went for the food.

Had a Saturday morning tee time. The check in was prompt, but no friendly greeting or welcoming feeling. Carts are old and tired, with ours barely starting all day. Tough course, with tees and fairways full of weeds and bare spots. Many, many dead trees on the course. Not much maintenance going on here. Greens in very nice condition, but most are crowned or very large, leaving long, extremely difficult putts. Playing here for the first time is tough, as you dont know the greens and find yourself with impossible downhill putts. Clubhouse a pleasant surprise, with good service from a great looking bartender. But the golf was marginal at best.

Nicely kept course, lots of forgiveness everywhere. Be careful of the elders out there , they can be rude

Very nice golf course and amenities.

This is a good value golf course. Mostly flat and straight on the front nine, with 6 of its 8 water holes on the back nine. While not necessarily pristine, hole after hole it is consistently playable.

Some of the worst customer service Ive experienced. Decent course that would be better served if they actually had decent employees and carts. Carts can barely make it up the small hills on the course. Also tried charging me $34 for 2 beers. Overall a laughable experience and one I wont revisit anytime soon.

What a hidden treasure right here in Ocala friendly staff, great prices from the clubhouse to the menu,Thursday league starting now and others are also available new carts also

Customer service was awful, man in clubhouse was rude even after we waited patiently for him to finish his personal call which lasted 5 minutes after we walked up to the counter to check in. Carts needed to be retired 10 years ago, we took 1st one back thinking we just picked the wrong one but 2nd was worse than the 1st. Course is a beautiful layout but the course maintenance is non-existent. Cart paths were hardly worth advertising. Full of potholes and mud holes. Its sad that a course of this caliber could be so under appreciated by its owners.

Fascinated by the layout the first time I played 15 years earlier. Found out its a Desmond Moorhead design and that answered all my questions. Play Stone Harbor CC (NJ) for point of reference. As far as conditions go it is summer here in mid Florida and greens were shag carpet slow. Fairways in ok shape but overall conditions reflect a declining course struggling to hold on. For all you course design geeks worth a look at some classic bunkering and interesting green complexes.

Not to impressed with this course. The conditions were poor to average. Lots of bare spots in the fairways and the greens were overly fast making for lots of 3 putt situations. Id play somewhere else until they get it together.
