TONS of fun, and the four-hour trip was well worth the price tag! Captain John was very knowledgeable and friendly, great with kids. My 10-year-old son got to briefly drive the boat, plus he pulled in a 20” sea trout, which Captain John quickly cleaned for us (not a single bone in it!) and we fried it up for dinner—DELICIOUS!!! (We each caught a number of fish, but this was the biggest!) Captain John now knows us as the Toadfish family, as the majority of fish we pulled in were oyster toad fish -- ugly as sin, but still fun to catch! THANKS, Captain John, for an amazing experience -- well be booking you again immediately the next time were in Myrtle Beach!

Captain John was amazing. We did a 4 hour charter and had a blast!!! John was super patient as we had our two year old and 6 year old. We caught so many fish. If we’re ever back here we’ll definitely be booking another trip.

Went out on a 4 hour trip with captain John. The trip was a lot of fun, caught a good amount of fish! My family of 4 went on a 4 hour fishing trip with Captain Josh on 7/1. Me, wife, 17 yr old son and 10 yr old daughter had a blast! Josh was a super knowledgeable Captian and put us on fish all day. Went out for 4 hour fishing with my dad and father in law. Our captain Josh was very friendly and worked hard to put us on several different spots to try and catch some fish. It was a slow day but we managed to catch a few trout and a flounder. The boat was very clean and well organized. Would definitely use this company again for future charters.

This was hands down the best part of our vacation this year. My 14 year old son, a rookie at fishing, was guided step by step and ended up catching the most and largest fish of the day! Had Captain John and we came to catch sharks and boy did we! It was a great time. Wasnt long and we were reeling em in! Caught several sharks and even landed one over 3 feet. My husband and I decided on a Monday that we wanted to go fishing we called Reel Action that day and their first opening was on a Thursday. Knowing we could not do Thursday they said let me make a call and we will get back to you and they did. Tuesday afternoon we were out fishing with Captain Josh. It was a great experience and tons of fun. Our Captain was very knowledgeable of the fish and area and extremely fun to be on a boat with for four hours. Went out today on a 4 hour charter with Captain John. Absolutely loved his style...if were not catching quality fish, were moving. Morning started out slow so we moved out to the inlet...and then BAM...we were on the Red Fish. It was such a great time. Also caught a giant Sting Ray as a bonus. I went out with Captain John today with my two sons, one of which is an experienced fisherman the other is a novice. We caught 3 sharks 4 feet plus and a stingray. Captain John did an excellent job working with the inexperienced fishermen as he fought a 5 foot shark for 30 minutes. This was a great experience for my sons and I. We had 4 people on the boat and we all had a great time. Plenty of black drums and some nice reds. They done a great job filleting the black drums at the end of the trip and gave some good advice on cooking them, they were delicious!

Had a great time with these guys! Captain Johnny was very professional and helpful. We had some less than ideal weather, but were still able to catch a flounder and black drum. We would definitely return, but with rain jackets next time!

Capt John put us on fish. We were anchored for all of 3 minutes before the first fish hit. We caught all morning long. Unfortunately they were small black sea bass, one keeper, and lots of dogfish. It was nonstop action. I highly recommend Reel Action.

My son and I fished with Captain Dicky for our charter. He was knowledgeable about the area and got us out and back in quickly and was easy to talk to. He had a nice clean boat that suited the charter nicely. We left disappointed with our haul, or lack thereof. No keepers, apparently the weather was too nice for the fish to bite, our catch of the day was a 10 flounder that was too small to eat. We ended up with a few croakers and pinfish as well as a couple tiny sea bass. The catches were fun but ultimately spent $500 to catch about eight 8-10 inch fish.

Capt. John made a great experience our kids will never forget. Had us moving along until we were catching them nonstop. He taught our kids different casts and was extremely patient and knowledgeable. We caught speckled trout, whitefish and a ton of big black bass .See you next year Captain John !

My 10yr old son and I went out with capt Josh this morning and what a great experience. Josh had us on the action pretty quick at the jetties where we caught a small shark and 3 stingrays. He was very patient with us and let us get use to the ocean there. He then took us to the 5mile reef where we were very busy catching 5 more Sharp nose sharks 3-4 ft long and very feisty along with about a dozen sea bass. What a great experience with a very knowledgeable and down to earth person. Thanks so much Josh will definitely book again when in the area

I did lots of research and read a lot of reviews before we picked a place to take my family fishing. Doing a private charter boat was the best decision we made. We chose Reel Action and I dont regret a second of it, we made the best choice! We had captain John and he was amazing with all of us. We caught multiple fish including 3 different sizes of sharks. He even took us to a more shallow area for my 6 and 8 year old to catch smaller fish they could reel in easier on their own. We seen a jellyfish near the boat and Captain John was able to get it into the boat for the kids to hold. He also took us to a place where we could hold and learn about blue crabs. Captain John was very knowledgeable about everything and taught all of us a lot. Next time we come we will go with them again. Thank you for a trip we will never forget!

My son and I, both novices, went out for a half day trip this past Thursday with Captain John while on Spring Break. The temperature was not ideal for fishing, but Captain John supplied some extra coats which helped. John made a real effort to get on the fish and it was a great experience for both me and my 13 y/o son. He has a lot of patience and does some fishing instruction along the way. Capt. Josh did a wonderful job this morning. He took us to 4 different spots looking for fish. We got a handful of blues, a toad fish and a small blacktip at the first spot and were having fun until the bite shut off. He was determined to put us on more fish, but they didnt cooperate. He was awesome with my 8 & 10 yr old kids and did his best to make it enjoyable for everyone. I would definitely use them again!

We had a great fishing experience with Captain Johny. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We were catching big red fish before we knew it. It was an awesome experience! After some time on the water, everyone was getting a little oozy so Captain Johny was very understanding and brought us closer inshore to do some fishing and let our stomachs settle and once we were feeling a better he brought us back out to finish our time reeling in some more big ones! Fished with Captain Bill and Oscar on June 27, caught lots of mackerel, sea bass, and a few sharks. These guys were great, we had a good time, well go to them again next year.

Only 4 stars because we didnt get on any fish like I expected! $380 to rent the boat for my wife and I was a deal I felt like. Just the two of us and captain josh. Very cool that we had our own boat. Josh was a cool guy and tried hard to put us on fish. Fish didnt cooperate that day! We did stay in the waterways and out to the Jettys. Decided against going 3 miles out into the ocean as it was a little on the chilly side in early April! Fishing gear was new and excellent shape. Good 24 ft fiberglass fishing boat probably ran 40-50 mph. We had a great time even though we only caught 3 fish a piece. I would have loved to catch a shark but that wasnt the plan. Would definitely try them again though.

Everyone I spoke with prior to our charter was very helpful and friendly. Captain Josh was a lot of fun and made sure we got everything out of our experience that we were wanting. My husband got a monster cobia which pretty much made our whole vacation! Fishing is a lot of luck but also knowing where to catch the fish....Josh knew just where to go when we werent catching anything at first. Goal was sea bass but I think the hubby was happy with what he got! ;)

Had a great day with Captain John! My boy wanted nothing more than to catch a shark, and the first fish we got, sure enough, an Atlantic sharpnose shark! He took it easy on the water because I had my just 7 year old and my 73 year old mom with me. He was Amazing with my son showing him different wildlife, picking up jellyfish, and netting bait. After a few hours my little guy wasnt feeling well, so we headed back in. I had more than enough fun in only 2 hours watching him reel in his shark, and me a big red drum. I cant reccomend him enough!

Recently went on afternoon charter with family, including 3 boys 8 and under. They had a great time with Captain Josh. Caught some fish, explored an island for a while, checked crab pots. Josh seemed never to stop. Baiting hooks, taking care of fish everybody caught, piloting boat like a pro, he truly made the experience excellent. You could tell he wanted everyone to have a great time. And we did. This was our first time to do anything like this, and I cannot imagine anyone doing a better job. You will not be disappointed with this charter service.

I had a blast- my favorite part was how straight up the captain was- first thing when I pulled in i was informed the bite was tough during the morning session and that it could be again. I could have backed out but didnt. Ended up catching a flounder, shark, and ray. Lost 4 big fish i could of got but Im a rookie and they got loose due to my own fault. I will definitely be taking another trip!! Got to see some good scenery and I didnt care that I didnt get a fish with every cast....thats not how fishing works. Very good learning about how to fish for the big ones!

We are still talking about the great trip we had this afternoon with Captain Josh! What an amazing afternoon! Not only did he know the best place to take us to catch fish, our hooks were always baited and he patiently untangled lines a couple times. We left with fish cleaned for the freezer! We visited North Myrtle and was looking for that individual fishing experience. We knew we didnt want to be on a boat with several others. Captain Josh and Reel Action gave us the exact experience we were looking for! We had a fantastic day on the water with Captain John! We are a group of 3 experienced fisherman and Captain John showed us a great day on the water. We caught flounder, speckled trout and black drum. Red drum was on the menu but we had high winds in the morning, so we pulled back behind the Jetties to go for flounder. We fished several spots, with success at each. Captain John knows the right spots and he knows when it is time to move as well as what to use. Well worth the money.

Went out with Captain John last Tuesday 3/6/18 With my two daughters and we had a blast! From the time we dropped the lines until we came in it was constant action. My son and I went out with Captain John for a half day and had an outstanding fishing trip. It was my sons first time fishing in the ocean, he caught two sharks, a skate and a 30 pound red drum. I landed a 15 pound and a 30 pound red drum. Captain John is a great guide and knows his fishing and hunting too.

My group and I were lucky enough to book a 5 hour morning fishing trip. I had already called two different places, and I wasnt hopeful that Reel Action would even call me back after leaving a voicemail. Captain Josh took us on our trip, and we were not disappointed! DO NOT USE CAPT TERRY. Gooood lord. We went on a 4 hour trip with my dad, brother in law and father in law. We caught ZERO fish. Litterally not one bite. We paid 450 dollars to ride around in a boat. The man had little fishing knowledge, so we fished with shrimp as bait the entire time. When Terrys first spot didnt have any fish, he didnt have a back up plan. We didnt change bait, we didnt change strategy, we just continued to catch nothing. He then blamed the water and told us it just happens sometimes. Wish I could have my $112.50 back. We were NOT told that a tropical storm a few days earlier would affect the amount of fish caught.And Im sure they will post a response under this review justifying catching nothing on an effing FISHING charter. Im sure they will blame us for not catching any fish as they have in every other bad review. Cant wait to read that explanation

My family and I had a good time with Captain John. We enjoyed having the boat to ourselves. He was on time and spent extra time trying to get my third son a fish before we had to leave. He taught us about local fish and marine life and caught our bait. I look forward to repeating the experience.

We arrived about 15 minutes before the set time, well Captain John was there waiting on us to arrive, it was great to see someone at the age of 23 be that responsible.Captain John was very knowledgeable. Struggled with finding fish at first but he got us into some fish and we had a great time! Will definitely be chartering with him again when we get back to Myrtle Beach.

Our family had a great time on our first deep sea fishing experience! Josh and Johnny were very patient and nice!! Even tho we may not have caught a lot of fish we all had a great time! Hopefully we can do it again the next time we go on vacation!!

After reading reviews and doing some research, I decided to book a charter with Reel Action Fishing. I am from NC and met up with my best bud and son vacationing from NY. We dont get to see each other too often, so I wanted to do something wed all enjoy and remember. My friends son is going into his senior year of high school, and then off to college. The three of us are more freshwater fishermen and not overly familiar with salt water.Booking our outing was an A+ experience. They were very helpful and informative when I called. They made it easy to contact and were fast to respond. We booked our charter for Aug 28th, so my experience with summer fishing is usually lack luster. Not the case here! We met our Captain Johnny in the parking lot and off we went. He asked what we were interested in catching, and was thorough in explaining what and where wed need to fish for different results. We decided to go where wed potentially have the best odds for success.We stopped to net some bait and proceeded to our choice location. We fished with shrimp to start with, and never changed up having great success catching Black Drum....and a couple of Toadfish. In all we caught 9 and lost a couple. One Johnny believed was a Stingray based on its behavior. Johnny filleted all nine fish and we breaded and fried that night.Bottom line, we were pleased with our captain, and the result. I would definitely, without hesitation, use Reel Action Fishing for any future charters!Thanks again for the memories!Brian, Brad, and Brandon

Captain John was AMAZING!!! My three brothers and I went out for a perfect day on the ocean. We were catching fish like mad! How fired up Captain John would get with each catch made it that much more fun!! I would recommend him and his charter 10x over :)

Capt John and his staff were first rate. They were patient with my kids and were extremely helpful before, during and after the trip. Will definitely use them when we come back and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fishing trip in Myrtle Beach

Our family had a great experience! We have 3 younger children and the Captain did great keeping them interested and involved from start to finish. Highly recommended Reel Action Fishing...we will be using them again!

Captain John and his son were amazing, friendly, and we had a blast! Excellent deal for your money, enjoyed every second of it, and cant wait to book them again soon! They are super friendly, and do everything on the boat to make sure you and your party enjoys themselves. They took us to several different spots, where my party and I caught several different fish, sharks, and stingrays.
