One great recognition of a genius of a Yugoslavian icon in our fair city with the energy that all that water generates.Its a must visit as he sits atop overlooking the Falls.

This was definitely a must-see spot for me on my visit to Niagara Falls. Im a big Tesla fan (as evidenced by my T-shirt), and the sculptor did a wonderful job capturing both his likeness and his presence.Its situated close to the falls, too, so its definitely a convenient spot for visitors.

The most elegant man. Artist dresdale put up all of his magnificent qualities through his work. A similar statue is located at the opposite in America equidistant from the falls. Both of these statues are like mirror image. People have a glimpse of the greatest man of the history of electricity through the work of Leslie Dresdale.

A beautiful place to commemorate the contribution of one of the greatest inventors of recent times. Written on the monument itself, a quote by Tesla:The possibilities of will power and self control appeal tremendously to my vivid imagination…. Until finally my will and wish become identical. They are so today, and in this lies the secret of whatever success I have achieved. My imaginings were equivalent to realities.”

Many of you might not.Nikola Tesla is best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electric supply system. Mr. Tesla created the world’s first hydroelectro power plant at the Niagara falls!Tesla and Edison were competing with each other at that time with their skills. Nikola Tesla with AC and Thomas Edison with DC for transmitting electricity.For development of plant at Niagara Falls, both submitted their proposals in the contest in 1893 organised by Niagara Falls Commission. The pitch based by Tesla’s approach (Westing house Electric and Manufacturing Company) was accepted and awarded the contract since Tesla’s AC based bet was better than Edison’s DC based proposal!

The statue represents how Tesla had the thought of making a turbine to produce electricity seeing the falls.

When youre visiting beautiful Niagara Falls be sure to take a moment to visit and admire this statue of Nikola Tesla. He is standing tall overlooking the falls in the small park dedicated to him and his achievements.

Very nice monument. It is very sad that tourist do not respect it or anything else. It clearly says not to climb it yet Asian tourist (pretending they did not understand English) climbed it for photos.

Wonderful statue

What a tribute to the man that helped progress civilization so much. Stoically looking at the Falls that changed his life, he constantly sees the wonders and advancement of what nature and humanity can do together. The plaques give insightful information. This is a great spot to watch the evening fireworks also.
