Really enjoyed seeing the monument, but it doesn’t have any information or explanation of Tesla’s significants. I believe the monument in the Canadian side is a lot nicer, but you’ve got to have your passport to cross to see it.
I look forward to going to Niagara Falls once per year.Everything we use today in technology and electronics was deigned and patented by Nikola Tesla
Loved this. Made my children and I research to learn more about Teslas contributions.
An impressive large bronze statue of an impressive, not very large man...who was a giant. In the mid 1890’s, Nikola Tesla, a brilliant electrical engineer, developed a system of alternating current (AC) which enabled power from Niagara Falls to be transmitted great distances. The system was put into use on November 15,1896 when electric power was transmitted from Niagara Falls to Buffalo.Prior to Tesla’s discovery, electricity was sent by direct current (DC) no more than 100 yards, yielding only enough power to light a bulb. His invention of AC power changed the way electricity was used throughout the world!
Harnessing the power of the falls to Power the industrial revolution
One of two monuments, dedicated to one of the greatest geniuses of the 20th century. This one, located on Goat Island, shows Nikola sitting, with his head down, and a plaque adorns the monument, at his feet. Tucked in a rather obscure area near the American Falls, its worth a read and for reflection on a man who helped bring electricity to not only Buffalo, but eventually, to the rest of the world. A prime place to visit for any admirer of his great work.
This is what America should be doing, admiring our history, not destroying it.
Amazing monument and great views of the Falls. Some awesome history is explained here. There is a large tourist crowd but that is expected because Niagara Falls is a huge tourist attraction spot. Still a great place to go to view the Falls and take in some great scenery. Will definitely go back again!
This is 1 very famous statue that yall cant find anyplace else in the USA. Nikola Tesla is a world renowned inventer and very well-known for the invention of the hydroelectric dam and plant, and AC current. Nikola Tesla is the founder of the Niagara Falls Power Station located 7 miles upriver from the Falls itself on the American side.
One of, if not the most amazing and important scientists of all time...If you dont know who he was and what he did for mankind, I recommend you look into it...
Great place to visit, magnificent monument to one of the biggest scientist ever!!!So happy I had chance to visit it
A real mad scientist. Come on, he wanted to electrify the atmosphere. Awesome.
The winner in vintine khamsoysaiyavong
Incredible statue of the man that gifted us so much of modern life
A great monument to a great man with a great view of Niagara Falls on the American side!Thomas Edison can go pound salt!
This scientist/inventor needs more monuments and his achievements taught in school. Please read aloud the plaque to your kids and have them Google alternating current in the car on the way home.
Any monument to Tesla is a fabulous addition to society. However, in 1882 at the Munich Fair, which was dedicated to electricity, a hydro electric power station was built to provide power to the fair - so the claim on the notice about this being the worlds first hydro scheme appears a little inaccurate.
Great photo opportunities. Worth a stop.to see.
Forgot it was nikola fesla monument as i was busy watching the beautiful niagara galla.it should have been installed close to visitor center
Nice statued of one of the best scientist
It is wonderful to see so much emphasis on Tesla around Niagara. He frequently gets overlooked but contributed so much!!
Amazing place
Better than the band that shares his name.
Unbelievable statue of Nikola Tesla. Ive never seen its equal. Well deserved Monument for such a contributor to society
Nice place. Must see
Absolutely beautiful
Fianlly get to say I sat in a tesla
Its difficult to grade or rate such a thing as a monument, but the best way to judge the US sides Tesla sculpture is to compare it to the Canadian sides. The American sides is Tesla sitting with a book, thoughtful and pensive. The Canadian side has him in motion, with cane. Combined they honour the visionary that brought the 20th century to the Niagara region early, putting it on the map as much as the magnetic falls flanking these monuments.
Another great view. If you came this far you might as well see the falls from every possible angle. Worth the short walk from the main visitor center.
Nice place to visit. This man was a great man to society. Without him we would not have what we have today in technology.
Beautiful memorial of an amazing man. Tesla doesnt get half the respect that he deserves.UNCLE GERRYS TIP: Do yourself a favor my friends and google this man and learn as much as you can about him. You wont sorry, I promise!!!
Cool statue smart guy
This is an awesome statue for selfies
Nikola Tesla looking out over the US side of the falls still longing to harness their power.
What a wonder full monument of one of the greatest inventors of our times. And yes, the statute looks a little bit like president Lincoln.
Nice monument. Pride of goat island and surrounding places. Just opposite to this memorial there is a way to terrapin point of Niagara falls. You can see the breathtaking view of horseshoe falls from this point.
Its a statue of Nikola Tesla; looks just like him.
How can you not like a monument like this.
Beautiful
Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-american inventor.
Tesla changed the world with his inventions.
The statue itself is great, however it would be nice if there was an explanation of who he actually and mention some of the things he did. Some people even confused him for Lincoln.
The monument on the other side in Canada is a little bit better or more beautiful designed. They removed a big thing. Bad... :(
This is a beautiful tribute to a man who brought us so much. There is a QR code near by where visitors can learn about Nikola Tesla. I was sad to find out that they allow people to crawl and climb all over the statue. We were there for 10 minutes waiting patiently to take a picture of the statue while children climbed all over the statue. None of them knew anything about Tesla or bothered to read about him - neither did the parents we spoke with. Just a free time killer while they waited for the trolley to leave. It just made me sad. One of the guides at the park said that it was sad that they were allowed to climb all over the statue because of it the statue it wearing in spots.
Beautiful monument and a good place to take a photo
It was shocking how good it was.
Its not here any more. They moved it somewhere else.Disappointed

Stop clickbaiting people
A memorial for the legend who invented Alternating Current and the first hydro-electric power plant here in Niagara.
Informative place and great place to Know about Niagara
I good spot to overview American Falls
Nice
They removed the statue for cleaning. No word on when it is expected to be returned. Very disappointed family!
Cool place
They moved it for construction reasons but their is no construction taking place where the statue was.
Small corner to honor the great mind
