Led by the amazing Shauna Kanter, VoiceTheatre provides an artistic home for theater professionals who love what they do. Comprised of passionate, talented and thoughtful individuals, the company creates theater that delivers a powerful punch or, in the case of comedy, a hearty belly laugh. We are artists that deeply respect each other and enjoy creating meaningful and relevant art together on stage. Its been my pleasure to work with both Shauna and Robert Langdon Lloyd; to learn from them, collaborate, grow, and be part of a fabulous group of artists -- truly a family.

VoiceTheatre continues to mount innovative, evocative, socially relevant productions, and its talented actors and production team consistently leave the audience wanting more. Artistic director Shauna Kanter is a gifted director and playwright who has written a number of the pieces presented by this company. VoiceTheatre plays are often emotionally riveting and tackle complex political and social issues, asking the audience to re-examine their prejudices and preconceived ideas; others are light and fun and have great entertainment value. This versatile and eclectic theater company is a gem.

As an emerging director it has been a privilege to play with a creative community such as VOICETheatre. With this group I have had several opportunities to develop my skills and even stretch my wings, particularly as an assistant director for the companys most recent production, Birds on a Wire, which was performed in NYC and Woodstock, NY (Byrdcliffe Theater). The opportunity to work on a new American play that is overwhelmingly relevant, as a young artist no less, was an extraordinary experience.VOICETheatre is an authentic non-profit theatre organization in every positive sense. A community of dedicated artists who present quality plays for an international audience. More importantly, VOICETheatre is a growing haven for both the flourishing artists that it cultivates and the vigorous public that it incorporates.I highly recommend any experience VOICETheatre has to offer!

From the vibrant staged readings to the dynamic full productions, VOICETheatre offers up consistently compelling, thoughtful, high quality theatre. BIRDS ON A WIRE at Woodstocks Byrdcliffe Theatre was both nuanced and forceful. Irene Glezos was a pure powerhouse in MASTER CLASS at Phoenicias Festival of the Voice. Thumbs up to playwright and VOICETheatre director Shauna Kanter for bringing such treats to Upstate New York.
