This is a great venue! I flew up from Florida to see Billy Bragg perform here for three nights. This small venue has excellent acoustics. Not being from the area, I was pleased to learn that this venue is smoke-free.I go to a lot of shows, the Bowery Ballroom is the only venue Ive been to where I was cold during the show.I have family who lives in the city, Ill definitely keep an eye on shows here.

Besides coming as a guest, I’ve played here 4 different times with 4 different bands and each & every time has been an amazing experience. Even as the opening band we were treated like professionals the moment we pull up to the front door. There were never any issues regarding our requests & requirements for our performance.

When we discovered our favourite band was touring and playing at the Bowery we decided it would be a perfect reason to go to NYC for the weekend. As a Canadian, Ive heard of this venue over the years and thought it would be great to check out. It did not disappoint. We stood at the back bar and had fantastic sight lines. The hype is real! This is a fantastic live music venue.

Wow! What a great little venue. Cant believe I hadnt been there yet.Im ditching one star only because the stage was a bit high for such a small venue. If youre close youre gonna have a sore neck when you youre done.But thats a minor... Sound was good. Downstairs bar was cool. Dinner next door was good.Walking distance from the Williamsburg bridge.

Come here for the comfortable, intimate venue and a fun concert experience. Dont come here without looking up what time doors open. You might show up an hour early.

Great concert hall in a cool neighborhood. The configuration is perfect with one bar downstairs and 2 upstairs. The balcony makes it even nicer.

This is a really decent venue! Drinks are reasonably priced with decent offers on beer and a shot.The upstairs area is where the music happens and the sound system is good.

This is a straight-up great venue. No barricade. Chill security. Usually a decent crowd. Can get packed but thats life. Have seen some of the best acts in the world here.

Nice small room for intimate shows with bands. You can see great from the front or back of the crowd. Great sound system.

Came here for a New Years Eve party hosted by Hot Rabbit. The line for coat check took 3x as long as the line to get in. The music was really good though. And the drinks were surprisingly not ridiculously overpriced.

Awesome venue. Not too big not too small. Has a lounge downstairs to hang out after the show.

Great spot for music. The staff are helpful but sometimes the crow gets too much and the security needs help. Ironic since security outside is good. reasonably priced.

Saw Shannon Lay who performed with Ty Seagull and I was blown away! The show was very well liked by everyone in the balcony and on the floor. It was fantastic. I met people who traveled from Canada just to see Shannon . Ty’s wife also gave me a CD . Thanks Great Place/ Show/ People who work here are All fabulous!!!

Nice place. Security out front is sketchy. Once I got in the staff were fine, place was clean, good drinks, good music. Its pretty dark in there but its a cool atmosphere. Good music and very interesting people!

Nice, cozy, awesome small concert hall for enjoying live acts of various, independent artist. Great & gorgeous atmosphere!On upper floor, ground level and basement you find a small bar area where you can get some drinks (different kinds of beer & cocktails) and snacks (e.g. chips).We visited the Alice Meron Live Concert on 10-18-2018 (18.10.2018), and it was a real enchanting and captivating experience.An evening that I will never forget & that will be always on my mind!

July 28, 2019 Viagra Boys and Surfbort; Great show. A fun location with balcony seating. Beer and shot 11 bucks; not bad. Staff was mad cool. A place to enjoy, let loose and bug out. Surfbort got me in the mood and Viagra Boys put the final nail in me and I tapped out before the end of the show. Great fun.

Having a bar downstairs is a convenient touch, and the ambiance of the historic interior on the main floor offers good visual aesthetics and acoustics. Also, access to restrooms is via staircase at the front of the stage: handy.

I’m going to give the Bowery Ballroom a 4 star rating. It’s iconic and a great place to see a show and in a great spot in lower Manhattan. The staff is, well in my experience, a bit surly, or at least some of them were. Having been to a number of clubs in NYC this winter, the staff here were the least friendly generally. The security and ticket staff especially. Bar tenders were better.This is a great location though and the staff didn’t massively detract from the experience.

Insane sound. Bar downstairs, bar way upstairs in balcony. Intimate show, anywhere is a good spot.

The place is nice and spacious for a good crowd of 568 people only wish the bar had better choices from drinks mostly all they have are beer drinks. my friend also said the sound system need to be a little better when they sing and be a little creative with the background settings other than that I enjoyed myself and the performance

Quaint and comfortable venue, decent enough bar for a music venue. Staff was solid, acoustics were good for the music I was there to see (electronic, heavy bass and loops) but I cant vouch for other types of music. A balcony offers limited seating and the bar below the stage has a large number of couches as well, if you find yourself in a position that you need to get off your feet. Bathrooms were also clean and pleasant, and could occupy 5 people at once (for the mens room).

OMG! Great place for watching concerts. I used to book my tickets for concerts performing in the Bowery all the time and I always had the best view!

My first time there for a concert. Too small and crowded for me, but the concert itself was great. Sound system was cool. People were nice. Atmosphere was very chill. Just a bit small for me.

I saw ruel about a month and a half ago and it was amazing. Being 16 years old, I didn’t get to truly experience the venue as a whole but it was extremely clean and the staff were super nice and friendly. My only negative things to say about this place is how tight the exits are and how disorganized the merch table was. Not sure if it was just this show, but the merch table was at the bottom of a staircase right next to the exit so getting in and out of it was a bit hectic, my friends and i had to cheat the system in order to avoid being pushed down those stairs. n e ways we love a good venue,, 10/10 would come again. I’ll add photos from the show bc ion have anything else lol

Love this venue. nice and small with a pretty fairly priced bar (for a concert). every time i go ive gotten super close to the stage with hardly any effort. sound is always great.

Saw Pomplamoose here. What an awesome venue! The show was sold out, and it didnt feel crowded or uncomfortable. The drink prices were reasonable and they have a great bar. Do watch out though if youre going here during winter. The post show coat check line is insane - but even that went faster than expected all considering.

Amazing venue. saw joji here, only downside is the merch table is right by the stairs so line to exit and line to buy merch gets confused and creates big traffic on the stairs

Still a classic NYC venue. Great bands, great staff, great sound, great bartenders, great prices... You really cant not enjoy yourself at a show at Bowery Ballroom. Happy hour from 7-8 before shows that open at 8:30. Their sound and stage staff are all thorough professionals. Lighting has even been upgraded recently! Definitely catch a show there if you can.

Favorite venue in NYC. Layout is awesome, sound is great, and you basically HAVE to walk by Lombardis to get here. A+++. Wish I could give more than five stars.

Great local music venue. Very intamite atmosphere and good sound. They have good mid tier performers, the crowd is cool and the security is relaxed.

Its the perfect size, with great sight lines and sound. Also well designed flow, quick to get in and out of.

Staff is super rude for the most part. Everyone has this thats not my job mentality. Bought VIP tickets, was given strict instructions to be there at 6 PM or else we wouldnt be let in. They didnt even open their doors until 6:45 PM. It was raining and 30 degrees outside. Super unprofessional, and no one working there wants to be there or help you. Not my favorite concert hall in nyc. If an artist you want to see is performing somewhere else, go there. Not here

Saw Deb Never here, energy was crazy inside and the location is really convenient. Security here is probably the most calm and collected compared to other similar venues which is refreshing.

Ive only ever been here to see shows but its a supremely great, intimate venue! Now, the womans restrooms... theyre fine except for the one fact; about half of the toilets are so close to the stall wall it honestly looks like a prank.

Great venue but we noticed people stealing merchandise, hide your merch behind the booth! Otherwise great show an ambience

Idk what you say in a review about Bowery, its just where you go to see good music. The drinks are way overpriced but I love that you enter through the bar. Its got an old new york charm thats dying quickly and theres always someone good performing.

It was my first time at the Bowery Ballroom and its a great venue. The staff are friendly and there is lots of drink selections. I went to see the Parcels and I wish the show didnt end.

Small venue club. Its hard to find a bad place to stand. Be at the door when they open for a really good spot. Coat check is a plus. Bathrooms are mostly clean. Drinks are bar prices, but they keep the line going.

Saw KT Tunstall there. Shes tremendous and she had a talented singer songwriter named Maddie Ross for her opening act. Loved it! Had dinner in a great bar restaurant next door as well.

Very cool space, history and passion. Drinks arent too pricey. Good staff. Feels left behind in way of current gigs.

Really cozy venue. Theres a lounge downstairs which is nice and chill, expect venue prices for drinks though. The mixing and lighting were very well done. You could also get close to the stage

Great sound quality. Good layout/stage height for seeing the performance from almost any spot on the floor. If space on the balcony is available, its great, too.

Good for dancing, bad for sitting. Security isnt obnoxious and I felt safe. Hope to perform here one day.

A real throwback yet has a nice lounge area, great acoustics, AC system upstairs functioning on all cylinders to keep your body cool. Drinks were cold.

Great concert venue! I had a fun time and the sound quality was actually pretty good! Floor seemed a little shaky when 400+ people were jumping up and down, but hey, what can ya do? Also its a little hard to find at first, so keep an eye out!

Great venue with really good sound. One of my favorites in the city. They get all kinds of talented artists through the doors, every night of the week you can surprise yourself seeing someone great.The bar is way in the back, and the bigger bar is downstairs, so the talking gets kept to a minimum. There isnt a bad spot to stand in the whole place.Ive seen artists like Anderson East, Michael Kiwanuka, Brett Dennen, Fruit Bats, Lawrence, and Hiss Golden Messenger here, all were excellent!

Good bar. Fun to hang with friends in. One of the only places big enough to hold our whole group.

The security at the door were unnecessarily rude, like mean for no reason..otherwise the venue was great! The bar area was a cool scene with lots of seating. If your checking your coat be prepared to wait a looong time or sneak out before everyone and grab it early cos OMG the line. Drinks were pricey too

Great venue. Three bars no waiting. Get there early for the balcony seats. Wish I had. Otherwise your standing all night or sitting somewhere you can’t see the stage. Tho the sound is good every where

This place is a New York classic. I might actually cry when its gone for good, and given the location itll happen at some point. It fits ~500 people, has a nice horseshoe bar downstairs and has good sound.

Great music venue for mid-level acts (especially rock bands and electronic acts). Hang out in the laid back bar downstairs until youre ready to enter the performance area of the venue.

Reasonable sound quality. When shows are standing room here, you have a good chance to get right up close to the stage and your favorite artist. For the guys, the wait for the mens room was not bad at all despite the venue being sold out for the show I attended. On the other hand, the line for the coat check moved horribly slow.

There is no other place Id rather see a show. Sound quality is unbelievable. There isnt a bad view in the house. Easy to get stage front. Crowd is always appreciative of the band and is good about over cell phone use.

The Bowery Ballroom is a fantastic space to see a show. No matter where you are , your close to the action on stage and the sound is great.

Nice little spot, no seating coat check line was ridiculous waiting to get your coat but the concert was fun

Great acoustics and the sound is run professionally. Only real drawbacks is having to stand. Other than that, its a great place to see a band!

Amazing duo piano collaborations of musicians playing rock n roll and Baby Go Back too. Musicians run the gamut.Come one come all... U will be in for a big surprise of song & music...Garden variety will rock U!!!

Had a great time on a Monday night, with visiting friends from New York. The place was half filled but the Pianists played as though it was a full house. Great time. Amazing musicians. Will return.

Saw Joywave here a few weeks ago. Im fairly certain conerts here are always 18+. The venue is small and there always seems to be someone playing here.
