I like the zoo better with limited entry. One of the most serene experiences of my life... Took a 4 year old little boy for his first visit. We had a great time in spite of the limited access to food and a small number of animals not open for viewing. The few staff were great. I called on the way there and the nicest young lady answered the phone. We arrived 20 minutes late but were allowed immediate entry. The landscaping is Beautiful. Im in love with bamboo and it grows throughout the grounds. We were greeted by flamingos and a gorgeous peacock. The animals look well taken care of. The racoons were so cute. As a non-native, I really appreciate the native animal area. There are hand sanitation stations Everywhere. A++ effort NOLA!

This zoo is a bit overrated and the best thing about this place is that it is located in a beautiful neighborhood. Landscaping deserves a five star. Perhaps the smallest zoo that I’ve ever visited. I’m not a animal rights wacko nor did I expect a safari but these animals are way too restrictive. Still a great place to bring a family. Staff was wonderful.

It was better than I remembered...last time I visited the zoo, I was 10! The animals were clean, and appeared well fed! Their Cafe was open, and there were plenty of bathrooms... Loved the little Monkey Hill, many happy memories! We were able to take our Grand Nephew... To say it was right after a hurricane, it was great!

I had a really good time. The animals are well looked after and the park is always super clean. There is an army of staff to answer your questions and ensure proper social distancing. The parking lot fills quickly near the door so get there early if you want one of those spots. The food court is large and open with many choices. there is also a picnic area. The natural looking enclosures make it a photographers favorite.Grab the kids and the camera and come out for an most enjoyable day

Excellent zoo!!! I love how its separated by continent and beautifully decorated. Lots of things for kids! The monkey hill area is the best, kids can roll around on a grassy hill or hike up a stone stream and splash around. That is definitely a cool feature for when they need to burn off energy. The primates were the best!!! The momma and baby were so cute. The petting zoo was fun and they had a hand washing station at the end which was great. Food and drinks are expensive, I would bring your own lunch and snacks.

Zoo itself is great! Cool creatures, but stupid covid-19 had several features closed. Sucks, but still a good place to go.. I do not recommend 90° weather with small children. Which leads me to my only complaint. Most of the concessions were closed. I understand wanting to stick to guidelines and it hasnt been reopened for long, but when even the vending machines are down and you are trying to stay hydrated, they need to be open. I somehow made it through with out meltdowns from my toddlers. . This one is cool and I will bring my little ones back.

I would recommend going in the morning, when its not too hot and the animals are out and about. The elephant section is new and other spots are being renovated. We love this zoo so much. We know they are trying so hard to keep everyone safe in this weird Covid-19 time. However, we felt so crowded when we were all let in at our ticket time and had to follow the one way paths with everyone. It took about 30 minutes for the crowd to thin out so that we could enjoy it. We will go back, but probably not for awhile.

Was very organized under the current circumstances. The only issue was that every now and then spaces got overcrowded. Maybe the staff could remind people to keep the line moving to give everyone a chance to see the exhibits. No social distancing that I could see, but they seemed to be monitoring how many people entered at a time, so overall I would say that helped. Still possible to enjoy. Will visit again, probably after this pandemic.

The zoo itself is beautiful, and the animals are well taken care of. The lions and giraffes are always our favorite! But we purchased our tickets ahead of time thinking it would be hard to get in with all the Covid restrictions. Surprisingly it was extremely crowded and people were most definitely not maintaining their 6ft. Be prepared to be in crowds if you decide to go.

Awesome zoo! Took our 2yo while we vacationed here and he loved it. Only downside was a lot of the animals were sleeping or hiding inside due to the heat. Accessible by bus from our hotel which was a huge help.

One things for sure you cant beat the weather in New Orleans!!!! And some other zoos that Ive been to besides St Louis have been a lot smaller than I thought New Orleans however was not. The playground that they have for kids was way better than anything Ive seen anybody else have and the South American area where the Jaguar was was really feeling well and that was the first time Ive ever seen a bobcat at the zoo. We enjoyed it. Its really hard to compare other zoos to what were used to being from St Louis having the top zoo in the country for free but Im glad we saw it thats for sure

Audubon Zoo is delightful! Not only are there a lot of different animals, but the paths and enclosures themselves are also aesthetically pleasing and interesting for children. If you do have small children, I would recommend bringing a stroller and some snacks and water—the zoo is pretty big; we usually only make it through half of it in about 2.5-3 hours. Enjoy your adventure!! We especially love the monkeys and the elephants. :)

Had a great time!! So glad that they have reopened. We are members and reserved tickets online the day before. Helped out a lot, didnt have to wait in line. When we arrived (on a Saturday) at opening, there was quite a line already. All the employees wear masks and there are hand sanitizing stations everywhere throughout the park. There is a few things that havent reopened, but still plenty of stuff to see! If you are nervous about crowds, I would suggest not coming right as soon as they open or perhaps on a weekday? As much as the park contributed to social distancing requirements, they dont require masks, only recommend them. I felt a little crowded at first but we went through the park extremely slowly, trying to wait our turn to see everything. After a while, most of the crowd started to pass us by and I didnt feel so anxious about so many people in close proximity to everyone else. Like I mentioned before, masks are only recommended and it seemed like only about half the people were wearing them. Also, there are a lot of kids, who are a little young to be expected to wear their masks properly and know how to wait their turn in line at the zoo. So, as with most things, there could be some risks involved but I thought overall the parks attempts at limiting these risks and diverting large clusters of people in one area is great.
