The Broad Theater has ingeniously turned an adjacent outdoor area into the Broadside Theater, a beautiful and comfortable outdoor space for viewing films. WE NEED TO SUPPORT THIS GREAT IDEA IN THE AGE OF COVID! It is actually a lot more pleasant than being inside.

Broad theatre squeezed lemons to lemonade - behold this new magical outdoor theatre! Fauci-approved seating plan to keep the films running during Corona-times - wow what a transformation from a forlorn junker lot to a veritable cinema garden, complete with pop up food truck - I really hope the City grants them a permanent permit to keep this up.

This theaters been awesome since it started. Great people, craft beer, smartly selected movies, comfy seating, and some amazing indie events as well.My only problem is they have the volume absurdly high almost all the time, so me and my partner keep having to ask them to turn it down a smidgen. They are more than happy to oblige! So it just seems they tend to keep it even another notch or two above the already-loud volume that is typical at a theater.That said, please go out there and support these folks, esp during the pandemic! Help keep movie theaters alive!

Cozy little theater with reasonable prices. Definitely a hidden gem. Dont forget a sweater because it can get really cold inside!

Great outdoor viewing experience at Broadside!

Generally, I have had good experiences at the Broad Theater.Yesterday was one of the worst movie going experiences I have ever had however.We unwittingly purchased tickets to an accessibility showing with subtitles. No worries, I am fully supportive of this accommodation. However when the captions were not initially working, the movie was restarted after 15 or so minutes. The captions still did not function. At this point the hearing impaired in the audience left the theater for a refund. When the movie was restarted again, the captions worked but with a 20 minute delay between caption and action creating a persistent distraction. A refund was offered for those who left the movie, but having made the trek to the theater and being in seats with popcorn and drinks, we stayed despite the distraction.More should have been done to avoid this type of issue. The theater potentially violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by failing to produce the accommodations promised and certainly frustrated a full theater of those who just wanted to watch the film, accurately subtitled or not.Please do better in the future Broad. In the future I will give pause when deciding between going to the Broad or going out to the suburbs.

Great little movie theatre. Its not crowded on a Saturday night. It is a charming little theatre. We came here to see a 3 hours long Avenger the end game. The price at the concession stand were every affordable as you can see from the picture. This movie theatre has bar to order beer and cocktails. This is not a chain movie theatre.

This place is very nice and often has a good selection of movies (mix of blockbusters and more indie movies).Most of the year, the theater is ridiculously cold though. My friends and I always make sure to bring a scarf, sweater and long pants, even in the summer.Also, I wish they had a few healthy snacking options.

I enjoyed the total experience of being able to take in a movie, make new friends, and to have access to a bar before the movie. Of course, the offerings for movie goers are magnificent! In this case, it was the magnificent screening of Miles Davis, Birth of the Cool. Meeting Stanley Nelson and Miles family members Vince Wilburn and Erin Davis, along with their commentary, was an additional treat. Theres an inviting ambience and comfortable seating with food from the the theaters restaurant and alcoholic beverages for those who imbibe allowed into the ample viewing halls. Definitely get the newsletter from the website and I keep abreast of the variety of entertainment options. Its a great place to enjoy a movie in a very hip place.

Charming small scale neighborhood theater

This place is amazing, theres a restaurant in there, you can order it alcoholic are non alcoholic drinks, in a theater has four different movies in each sectional of the theater. Very good snack food. I love the building and the atmosphere of it.

Great local theater, first time there my wallet with over $400 in it fell out of my pocket while in the theater. The next day they had it for me with no money missing. That alone is a reason to go, but the shows are cheap the drinks are tasty and its supporting local business. I love it

Brought my daughter out for a mommy and me movie date, and this theater was conveniently located close to home, had good parking available, was clean, and has a friendly staff. Their cereal treats and virgin strawberry daiquiri are good! Movie tickets and food items are very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this theater, especially over the larger ones.

Such a great movie theater. Fully stocked bar and great snack bar selections, do yourself a favor and get the nachos! They almost always have themed cocktails for current movies theyre showing. There is a parking lot on the side of the building and parking in front on N. Broad. Also a small Filipino pop up, Milkfish, is located in the lobby.

Small and quaint. A more intimate setting than those big movie megaplexes. Good drinks, too!

They need more staff. The staff needs to reflect the neighborhood. They need to work faster and the younger needs to talk less and work more. Its ok when youre busy not to provide more personal attention. Tickets and concessions should not mix. Did you lose money by not being properly staffed day after Christmas. A lady offered to work you should have said yes.

Get weird and get out to see the latest movie screenings at New Orleans historic Broad Theatre. No reason not to celebrate the return of this historic, beautiful building being back in business and serving our local community latest hit films.The parking lot will most likely be full, but don’t fear, just drive down a block past the building and hang a right down a side street and there will be plenty of other movie goers parking on that block.

First time there just passing through town on a road trip. Arrived super early for first day of new Star Wars movie. Enjoyed great local brew, friendly staff, great atmosphere, comfortable seats.

Great place to have a beer and watch movies, much better than the chain theaters. Real popcorn and they dont gouge you on food like the major chains nor insult you with watching commercials

This is a great place to see a movie and completely a local vibe. From cocktails to nonalcoholic beverages, great snacks, and fantastic popcorn;you truly can customize your experience depending on movie. The air-conditioning is also at a good temperature level consistently. If you tend to be more on the cold side, I would recommend bringing a light sweater.

Fun little indie theater located near grocers and restaurants. You can order drinks, small fares and even smoothies inside which is a nice touch. There are tables and chairs where you can sit and enjoy your drink or snack.Theater space is roomy and seats are comfortable, which was a pleasant surprise for such an old theater. My one comment is that the screens didn’t seem to translate the picture as well as they could. Now, we saw “Mandy,” which was almost all technicolor, so that’s what made this observation particularly glaring.

My favorite little spot...(update) so...it appears that The Board Theatre isn’t playing any African -American movies/films anymore. This makes me sad because I really loved this cozy spot. I can’t support a business that doesn’t support people who look like me ....AMC

They always have a great selection of movies to see. They have a bar with snacks and drinks to purchase. Its all reasonably priced! The staff are all wonderfully personable. I highly recommend a visit.

Good neighborhood theater. Its not the biggest and there arent a large number of seats but they are comfy and to see a movie or waste away a night in movie bliss not a bad option. The popcorn was fresh and may have used real butter. The candy selection was good. You can actually get real food here instead of just theater fare and they have a bar. More suited to an adult date night as the arms of the chairs move up for a mid movie snuggle.

Kind of old and run down but it definitely has soul. Not your typical theater.

Great local theater! Prices are reasonable, concessions are tasty, employees are nice! Even has a bar to grab a cocktail at! The chairs in the theaters themselves are quite comfortable and you can raise and lower the arm rests. All in all I think this theater is a great alternative to the big expensive amc theaters!

I really Loved this place... been there 4 times this month with my boys. I love the popcorn, that was until this last time... I bought a large and it was so salty my lips shriveled up. I brought it back and it was like the guy dropped a whole shaker of salt in there... I think Ill give it a break. But its a really cute local theater with a hipster vibe.

Its a nice, clean little theatre. A little dated in the theatre I was in...that being older seats and sound system. The material on the walls of Screen 3 are a little old.Overall, though. It close to my neighborhood, has current films, nice little bar and you can get food and popcorn, too. I like it!

This is an awesome theater for out of towners who want to see something hip but not touristy. They serve food, drinks and some desserts and had a good selection of movies to view. Great place to relax and feel at home while away.

Cool place to visit and hang out. The atmosphere is very laid back. Extremely nice staff. The facilities are clean and the prices are reasonable. It within walking distance from the canal streetcar. The only down side I had was that there was a strange unpleasant odor in the auditorium.

Super chill local movie spot. Have all the latest titles and you can bring beer into the movie. Dont bother re reading that, Ill say it again: this theatre has booze, fancy foods AND popcorn! Once they get sour patch kids Ill never go anywhere else!

Other guests came in late to the movie, pulled out their phones after being asked to put them away. Spoke to manager and they were asked to leave. We were given a refund so we could come back and see the movie without interruption. Thank you.

Love The Broad! Your not gonna get IMax or anything, but it is a nice little local theatre with a comfy feel.Staff are kind and I like being able to drink a pint of beer at the movies. Screens are smaller than average, but enough to get the full sense of the theatre experience.

Great lil theatre, crowds not to big

Ok!!!!! So anybody born before 1980 would appreciate this place. I honestly felt like I stepped back into the early 80s its old but clean. The popcorn was fresh Omg!!!!! They had a bar for adult drinks ( and a hot bartender)and snacks like hotdogs and nachos. The service was slow but good.

Super cool theater with drink and food options. Really small seating which I think is better. My favorite theater in the city. If youre trying to escape tons of kids I can not recommend this place enough.
