Plenty of places to walk, a lovely rise garden and fountain at the war memorial, a very nice view of the town below and the hills beyond.

Nice park. Lots of people walk around the track. Good view over the city from the monument at the garden.Fun fact; The location of the garden was a wading pool back in the late 60s, maybe early 70s. Also, back then, there were many more ways to drive into and through the park (before they made the road into more of the so-called track).The Shell is a nice spot to watch free outdoor concerts at night during the summer...When there are no shows, sometimes kids will skate board in front of the Shell stage. Some of them are pretty good...They have baseball fields and tennis courts here. As you walk around the loop, there are various exercise stations with different apparatuses set up along the way.There is a small hill in which kids sled on that is nice. It is located nearby the playground.The playground is nice. It was redone a few years back...

Beautiful, very clean park. It has a lot of parking space and it’s free. The park has a really nice playground, a lot of hiking/jogging paths with uplifting view. The fountain can use fixing but no big deal. It’s really relaxing to just sit in this huge space surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees. It makes you forget about your worries.

Awesome place not used enough ..first fall afternoon and we were extremely relaxed in the warm sun and cool breeze!! What a gorgeous area nestled in between the hospital and West Main Street. Great area to walk around down the hill by the Amphitheatre.

Saw this park after leaving the hospital so decided to explore. Wow-zers was I impressed with the rose garden area. The water fountain is surrounded by a trail with Roses all around. The sunset views were spectacular. Overall the park was clean, family and pet friendly, and quiet. No crazy music or screaming. Just folks enjoying nature and taking pictures of everything around them.

Great place for kids at jungle gym, everyone at every age including pets to exercise, a place to play tennis and baseball.

I grew up in New Britain and moved out but always seem to come back,Why because the scenery of old parks maintained such as Walnut Hill Park this park has beautiful classic scenery with updated outside recreational activities if you are looking to loose weight great track to walk along with stations to work out with along with beautiful concert hall where you are able to see live concerts also the park for the children updated and well maintained

Good history and nice overall layout. I went after a recent hurricane and the town was actively cleaning up the park which was good.

Very picturesque and family friendly park. Theres a really nice walking/bike path around the park and the concerts in the park as well as other fun events, like the free yoga in the park, are great for the community. Love seeing families having picnics and playing around the park. Also the views are refreshing in the city setting.

I lived in New Britain, Ct (The location of this park) And I am very proud to say that the Park is being well kept. The play park is excellent and up to date!!

Well kept and monumental, lots of shade and benches.

If you need to wind down, take a walk around the park. There are concerts in the park in the summer, usually on Wednesday nights but check with New Britain Parks & Rec. I seem to recall a summer when the concerts were on Monday nights. Walnut Hill Park also has a Veterans Memorial, baseball fields, tennis courts, & a paved road that goes all the way around. They did tear up the play scape but I believe they are putting in a better one. There is plenty of parking too.

Very spacious park for families to enjoy a picnic or just to enjoy a band at the wonderful ampitheatre. Bring chairs or a blanket, some food and refreshments.

Loop is exactly a mile so its easy to track your progress. Tennis courts, playground, open field for a picnic.

I love this park. The great thing for pet owners like me. The city provides doggie waste bags. Although not everyone used them.But I do. And I always carry bags with me to clean up after my furbaby.

This park is enormous! There are tennis courts, a kids playground, and an amphitheatre. Theres no parking lot that I know of, but there is plenty of street parking around the park. Theres also a paved walk/run/bike trail. If you live nearby, definitely check out this park.

I love Walnut Hill.i use to go when I walked around the park for exercise. Really nice and peaceful. I still go but now I just park and read my book just relax.

Theres not much to say about this park due to the fact that its just a park.Its kept clean and music concerts in The Shell are a great thing.Stop by any might for different types of music. Events are listed in The New Britain Herald.

Loop around park is almost exactly a mile so its great to run around. Excercise machines are fun and entertaining. Good for sledding. Tennis courts are good for playing tennis! Playscapes have lots of kids that are loud and annoying but look fun. Cool place. Ill go there again soon.

A beautiful maintained city park with a mile paved track, concerts, with baseball, soccer, tennis courts and kids playground. There is a Rose Garden at the top of the park.

NB Parks and Recreation do a great job maintaining Walnut Hill Park. The Summer concerts bring talented performers. The bandshell is a relaxing venue for the concerts.

Fantastic park filled with: Baseball fields, tennis courts, kickball, large open fields, 1m total walking distance in a circle, the shell that hosts musical performances and events from time to time, along with easy access to the top of the park and the gardens.While theres no functional toilets, there are porta-potties. Theres also some scattered water fountains.

Great safe park to take your children and take a relaxing lap around the park.

Great park if you live near by. If youre driving more than 10-15 minutes I would recommend spending the day at Wickham Park in Manchester instead.

I moved here from Boston to be near this park. The landscape designer is same as NYC Central Park, Frederick Law Olmsted. I live two blocks away, and its like living on Madison Avenue for pennies on the dollar. Its flowing and beautiful with great vistas, many entrances, plenty of parking, and is well mowed.After I recently visited Elizabeth Park in Hartford/West Hartford border, I was that much more impressed with Walnut Hill Park. The fabulous American Art museum right on the park, the clear views of over 30 unique historic homes, the way the parking is congregated into lots in three locations, leaves a lot of the loop free from traffic and looking at parked cars.Walnut Hill Park maximizes utility with beauty. Theres a lovely flat grade 1 mile circuit, and a hill up to a lovely rose garden with a grass path AND a paved path, missing from Elizabeth.It needs a few more paths, such as a second one down from the Rose Garden on the park side, and one on the east side of the rose garden, but its unique hourglass shape is marvelous.

My family place. This is only one place that makes New britain special.
