SoundWaves was great! Even though we came in what Id call, the Off-season, the indoor park was still enjoyable. It wasnt uncomfortably crowded, and the water was very warm up until about 530 pm. The lifeguards were very visible and seemed to have alot of respect for their job. We will definitely be back when the outdoor park is open in the summer.

Very nice, new waterpark at the Gaylord Opryland hotel. The slides are very fun and have things for all ages. The wave pool was also very fun. We went on the last day before the outdoor part closed for the season (fall break). It was pretty busy and the lines were fairly long, but some slides we got on in about a 10-15 minute wait. The food was okay, but it did come very fast and service was good. Overall it was a fun experience despite some long lines, but it was a great experience!

We visited 8/25/20 on a day pass. We had sooo much fun!! Omg! My husband and I were able to relax while the teens had a great time. I went down one particular slide about 6-7 times with my daughter. The wave pool is so relaxing and fun when the waves come. **A special shout out to Vanessa at the outdoor bar. She was so friendly and the absolute best human!! Also, a guy at the food truck. He was the best also. We ate at the restaurant inside as well. The wings and fries were AMAZING! You get 12 wings! Everyone was helpful, nice, safe and seemed happy to work there. What a gem to have 30 mins from home!

The only reason I give soundwaves a 3 star is for the prices. Me and my fiance came here for a date due to them doing the residence day pass. For the bowl of nachos and the personal sized pizza we spent $40. We also bought 2 mixed drinks at the bar in the adults only section and that was $25. Its nice and relaxing but definitely need to go down on prices.

I will say during the summer months when both the inside and outside are open, this place is awesome... they have a little bit of everything to fit your mood...From handful of slides both body and tube, relaxing pools like the lazy river to more intense like the rapid river. Rock on a wave with the wave pool or just sunbath in the nice sun...

We purchased the TN Day Pass and my kids were excited to go. We looked online and the water park said it opened at 10am but when looking on our email confirmation it stated 12. Before leaving we called and asked the hotel what time we could come with the TN Day Pass. They told us 10am. We got in the car and drove the hour to get there at 10. When we went to go in they told us the Day Pass could not enter till 12. I let the manager Tory know that we called and were told it was 10. He apologized for the mistake on his employees end but he would not honor what we were told and we would have to wait two hours before entering. I again let him know that we called before hand and showed him on my phone where I had called. He said he was sorry but he would not commit to what we were told by his staff. My wife and 3 kids had to wait at the hotel for nearly 2 hours to get in. The park itself opens at 10 but day passes can’t come till 12. His staff should be trained properly to answer questions and he should of let us in when we arrived as we would of never came at 10 if not told to do so. Horrible job by Tory Torrence the manager. Gave it an extra star as the staff inside the park were very kind, kept it clean, and my kids had fun once we got in.Update- they care center ended up making this right and apologized for how we were treated.

This place was so clean, possibly the cleanest Waterpark or public pool area Ive ever experienced. The employees were so helpful, considerate, and alert. The reason for the 4 stars is the fact that you need to be a TN resident or be a guest at the Opryland Hotel, which also means a super long walk to the park area and it can get pretty pricey. With that being said, this place is definitely worth visiting a couple times a year for a family getaway. Food is conveniently located (although it is priced high and mediocre quality), sometimes convenience comes with a price. There is an area in the park for every age to have fun. There was plenty of room, there are lockers for personal items, little Bathing suit drying machines, and showers in the super clean bathrooms.Overall a great experience in the Soundwaves area, just be ready to drop some money, and treat it as you would a visit to most amusement parks.

This place is fantastic! We visited on Monday September 28th and the crowd levels were super low. We never waited for any attractions. At one point we were in the wave pool completely by ourselves. The low crowd levels made me feel very safe, especially since guests do not wear masks in the water park. All of the innertubes were sanitized between guests as well. I wish the adults only area had been open because I really wanted to check out the swim up bar and infinity pool, but I totally get why it wasnt open. All of the rides were great though! The lazy river is the best Ive been on. It was so peaceful with the cave and sparkling lights. Also the music in the lazy river was great. We rode maybe 10 times in a row with no more than two others in the lazy river at any given time. It was wonderful! Also, the food was very tasty. The chicken tenders my husband ordered were delicious and fresh. Tasted homemade. And the hot wings another member of our group ordered were more than we could eat, and were very yummy! We had a great time, and I would love to visit again. I would recommend week days since it seems a lot of locals come in on the weekends for day passes. It was just such a neat experience to feel like we had the water park, almost, to ourselves.

Great weekend getaway from Memphis. Food in Soundwaves area is very expensive. Music and giant TV screen is great entertainment. Next time well come with a group and get a cabana. Definitely arrive at the doors first thing in the morning to get an umbrella. They definitely need more!Note: They automatically add an extra 18% gratuity. They dont list it anywhere! And it was only 3 of us ordering food at the hot dog trailer of all places. Seems like a money grab! Very disappointed about that. Margaritas are $15 and unacceptably small for the price. Again, money grab.

Nice place. They sell it as an upscale experience. I think they say that because all of the stuff at the Gaylord complex is priced ridiculously high (ready my review for the hotel). Nice water park. Everything seemed very clean. The rapid river is a blast and should be a requirement for every indoor water park. Kids options are limited to a couple areas. No wave pool and no hot tub access outside of the adults-only area. If youre used to Great Wolf or Kalahari....this place feels much different. Its nice, but not as big and not as much stuff for younger kids. Cant comment on the larger slides...looks like they have 4 of them...our kids are too small. We got the Soundwaves splash and stay package for considerably less than GWL on the same dates so figured we would try it. Their non-special price packages are more than the other water resorts. This place tries to cater to the upscale clientele that the resort gets...nice but just not my cup of tea. Doesnt feel as fun as the other places mentioned.

Booked a weekend stay with the Soundwaves package for a relaxing getaway with my husband, and we were really disappointed. I assumed it wouldn’t be too crowded since the hotel said they were not operating at full capacity due to Covid. Soundwaves was PACKED. People everywhere, not enough staff to operate the slides efficiently, no where to sit, and every slide took at least 30 min in line. They spray down tubes after each use, but other than that, I didn’t see a single employee cleaning anything. Another bummer was that the water in all the pools was far too cold to actually enjoy doing anything. The only time it was a comfortable temp was in the wave pool, which again, was packed. You couldn’t go but a few feet without bumping into someone. Food was expensive, place was dirty, and the outside adult pool didn’t look like it had been cleaned ever. Spend your money elsewhere!

My group and I used the local residents code to receive a percentage off of the stay. I believe it’s still available for a limited time. We received one double queen room and access to the park that day and the next for entry. The second day you can enter the park though if you exit, u can’t re enter which is understandable based on the one night stay. There is also an option for entry by renting a party room. Sound waves is open all year round though I believe the outdoor attraction closes after Labor Day or somewhere around the date. We really enjoyed the short lines to the water slides, fresh towels conveniently placed and the exclusive feel. The music playlist could be revamped a little but I’m assuming that it’s toned down to be considered family friendly.

For now (Jan 2019) you have to book a room to get soundwaves access, but thats changing in May or June when construction is complete. Right now only the indoor part is open, outdoor space coming soon. But while its still relatively off peak, rates arent too bad, especially for local residents, we get a discount plus Marriott points.I love this hotel and make a point to stay once a year, its a treat for the kids especially at Christmas time, pricey but always worth it... Now with soundwaves its even better! Its a clean, well designed space with lots of light and space. Cant help but compare to Nashville shores, the latter being much more costly and not really worth it in my opinion. Think soundwaves will be a real competitor to Nashville shores water park, especially once the outdoor part is up and running. You get a wristband that can be used even after you check out!The locker rooms are clean, towels abundant, lines for slides reasonable. Water is clean, lifeguards diligent, its a contained space great for kids and adults alike, kids cant wandr too far out of sight.Theres food and drinks and on top level, adults only area with bar and pool. Alcoholic Drinks come in a plastic cup though, which can be taken out of adults area.Friendliest staff, and its so convenient to the guest room, you dont have to worry about lugging all your stuff to the water... They do have lockers for storage too, though, if necessary. My kids love it, ages 6 and 8. Theres nothing, no ride they cant go on...Attractions include two lazy rivers (one slower, darker and with tubes, the other faster with awesome waterfalls,) about five good slides, surf wave rider pool, big kids pool with rock wall and lilypads, littler kids water playground.Theres even a human heater you step into, and youre mostly dry in 30 seconds for the walk back to the room!Plus a shop if you forgot flip flops (yeah that was me), or anything else essential, thats typical hotel markup prices but not outrageous expensive.Ive always loved the hotel and now have yet another reason to love it and go there. Didnt know what to expect but its pretty awesome.

The slides were great and the staff at the top were good at easing the kids fears at the beginning. The adult pool was calm and warm. The food at the restaurant was delisious. Change rooms have showers with soap and hair products and very clean. The lockers were good too linking everyones wrist band to the locker we could all access it during the day. Soundwaves is your typical waterpark. Its new & their marketing folks are trying real hard with This is not another waterpark, its your happy place signs up everywhere, but, weve been to enough waterparks to tell you for sure, this IS another waterpark. Hours of operation could be a little longer, currently 8a to 8p, they could consider having it open a little later. Hotel rooms are VERY nice. All shops/restaurants within the resort are expensive. It was really fun. It was so busy when we went this year though. There werent enough floats for the lazy river and people were always waiting on them. You dont want to go without the floats because the water is only 2 1/2 feet deep. There werent enough floats for the water slides either and people had to wait to go down. The wait was about 30ish minutes for any of the slides that needed a float. For 60 bucks a ticket, I wish there was more inside to do. If you dont want to wait 30 minutes for a slide or to do a surfing simulation then there are two lazy rivers and a pool area and thats it. Once we got hungry we left the area to find somewhere to eat because it was about 20 bucks for a hotdog, fries, and a drink. Two of my kids did lose their bracelets they got them in and out and they were replaced quickly which was nice though. If it werent as busy and they had more floats to accommodate more people it would have been much better.

Although they make it very difficult for locals or friends of guests to get in here, if you actually make it in the park itself is not bad. They need to re think a few things though. For example, if you purchase a cabana but you are not a guest at the hotel, you are not guaranteed entry. So...you could spend $250-$350 on a cabana to hang out with your friends who are guests at the hotel, and then not be allowed in if wristbands are sold out. Just want to make people aware of this!!

It is a blast! Slide surf and take a dive into the waves. From our 5 day vacation we spent 3 days in the SW it was overall a absolutely funny and good time. The staff is friendly and always good for a smile. Kids are absolutely welcome they have special slides and waterparks for the small ones.First day was Monday every amusement was open and accessible. The waiting lines were reasonable even if it was overall very crowded.Second day was Tuesday and everything outdoor was closed (from 1st September) a little bit disappointing because we didnt recognized that when we booked the stay. The inside still offers cool stuff but we suggest to check detailed before you book if everything is available. The downside if you are the whole day only inside is the noise level. If i would have a 5 step scale for noise 1silent 5annoying i would range it arround 3 because the waterfalls in the whole building are at the beginning quite impressive but after 5 hours I needed a break.Because we couldnt find a spot somewhere in the shadow (small kid) we decided to take a Cabana but between 200 and 400 dollar per day (weekend weekday) is quite heavy, well you get complimentary sodas a safe, lounge furniture and a very nice waiter that takes good care of you but it is still quite a price tag.Suggestion for management:The real downside with that is that you only get these cabanas, i would also pay for a sun shell or lets say a beach chair with a umbrella if the price is right. In Las Vegas (Luxor) you pay 50 bucks for three outdoor chaise or sofas in a private area and you get water served for free the whole day from your waiter. At the Therme Erding near Munich you can choose between a chair with umbrella for 20, a daybed for 40, or even your own room for 400 per day all in a private floor with direct Pool and Spa access.Maybe that is something that could be adapted for the future.

We gave this experience to our children as a belated Christmas gift and, sadly, it was not worth the money at all. The temperature of the water and the entire indoor facility was far too cold. Children (including ours) were walking around the entire time with blue lips and chattering teeth. It was so sad to watch! I got in the pool the first hour we were there and couldn’t bring myself to get back in the rest of the day. My husband asked a lifeguard (who was wearing a jacket!) if it was always this cold and he said not at all and that he was usually hot, but that it had been very cold lately, but wouldn’t confirm if something was wrong. So sadly our reprieve from a cold December was not what he had hoped. As I type this, 2 of my children have fevers (we left this afternoon) and one has a swimmer’s ear infection.Aside from the freezing temperatures, it didn’t seem like there near were enough chairs for the number of people inside the water park. We were also really surprised at the lack of family restrooms. We found two, but as you would expect, there was always a long line for them. When we were finally able to get into one we realized it didn’t have a working lock - after we walked in on a family changing - so I had to stand outside the door while my family changed to make sure that didn’t happen to them. The children were really excited to try out the “crowd surfer“ which simulates body boarding/surfing. Unfortunately, only 2 people can go at a time which made the line always at least an hour long so we didn’t get to participate.Overall, just a disappointing experience and not worth the expense.

Facility is ok. Lifeguards are a word best not used on here. Been there 2 hours with a 3 year old and one lifeguard on a power trip decided that the life jacket we had on her which is coast guard approved wasnt up to the standards of their life jackets and made us swap them. Then the kid couldnt swim in theirs. Wont be back

Excellent facility for family fun and great customer service. Only down side is it is a bit expensive but they do have special rates for military families and non swimmers. Go!

Beautiful but COLD!!! Not a winter experience at all, we came in December and left after an hour, we were freezing! The water is super cold, and they don’t have much stuff inside that is for relaxing. We asked the staff about warm pools and they said they didn’t have any. The “lazy river” is more of a “crazy river”, kids kept pushing our floaty, it was loud, crowded, cold, and we were not able to enjoy it. They only had one adult pool which is on the top floor, I WISH it would have been warm along with some jets on the side so we could have relaxed a bit, but it was cold as well. So we left after probably five minutes. They also don’t have enough chairs to lay down, they only had a few available inside and all were taken. Will not return in the wintertime, it’s not worth it, maybe In the summer. I also didn’t understand why they charge an additional $12 for a small locker...since sound waves is already an additional expense, at least the locker should be free...

This is an amazing water park! Very relaxing and has great places for toddlers. However, if you are there for rides it is not as amazing for the price. We finished all of the rides before lunch time. It opened at 10am.
