Amazing spot; I visited Nashville about a year ago with some friends from college, and quickly became frustrated with how formuleic and overly-commercialized the citys music had become (hearing Country Roads and Old Town Road blasting from party busses for the hundredth time). We heard good things about Rudys from a local, and werent disappointed when we went to check it out!The atmosphere is amazing, the musicianship is phenomenal (you can hear the musicians unique styles/influences and how they play off each other), and its super easy to just get lost in the music. Oh, and the people are super nice! We started up a casual chat with a couple of strangers between sets, and the waitress told us my friends coffee was on the house when we asked how much itd be!This spot is the real deal, and you can tell people who work there really care about the place. Id recommend it to anyone passing through, and hope you guys can open back up soon!

I did lots of research to find a local place with an original Blues/Jazz feel while visiting Nashville and my research led me here. My only criticism is the kitchen closes way too early for how long the venue stays open. The first night, we had to leave to go find food because we were starving. We tried again tonight, a Friday night early and we were successful. The food is good! We had the vegan gumbo which is pretty flavorful, the Crawfish grilled cheese and the seafood pie. We didnt have a bad selection and the live band was on point. I would definitely recommend this spot, if youre in town. There is a cover charge, as little as $10, but as much as $20, its worth it

Rudys became a vital piece of the Nashville live music scene almost immediately. Walk in any night of the week and youre going to enjoy fantastic live jazz. Its like twisting off the red cap on that iconic contour Coke bottle and knowing the crisp, sweet flavor that awaits. Never surprised, never disappointed, cause there are some formulae you just dont screw with.

Rudy’s is great, I love the place. It’s just little over the top pricey relative to similar venues in town. Cover charges for weekend jazz acts, $15-20, kinda steep but ok. Why? Because it’s “jazz” I guess. Then they pass around the tip bucket. But $14.50 for a skimpy grey goose martini? I mean come on. It’s just a bit much. I think the aura around the idea of a “jazz club” means you’re just going to pay more...

Thrilled to stumble upon this classy music venue. Rudys was hopping with patrons, so we sat directly up front for a song or two before sourcing a table. We politely inquired with staff to request a table or cozy seat. It wasnt before long we had a table as most folks come in for a set and head on to the next. While you wont hear sweet Caroline at this spot, you may be lucky enough to meet her. The cocktails are as interesting as the entertainment. The lighting seems a bit bright, yet adjusts in a quick moment. Bar snacks: fried pickles, fries and such are available for the peckish and those with forethought to hang for a long night ahead. It was a blast - A Nashville must!

We went for Jazz Jam on a Sunday night. Rudy does a great job collaborating house and other artists to capture the best sounds possible. Rudy is awesome on bass, with Navarro stepping in when needed. Chris on the piano is an absolute master who makes it look too easy and sound so easy. I would pay to hear him play piano solo. Another Chris on drums is equally awesome. Topping the guest list for me is Jerome, a French guitarist who now lives in Nashville. He is just as nice to talk to as his music is amazing. He is included in the attached picture. There were 2 awesome jazz trumpet players, a cool trombonist named Greg, and one of the best saxophonists named Jeff that I have ever heard. The open mic portion left a little to be desired, except for a lady from Oregon who sang and played piano (I thought she was great). Overall, if you are in Nashville and want a different music experience than all the mess on Broadway, check out Rudys for sure! The venue is intimate, and if you arrive early enough, or later after the crowd leaves, you can score a soft comfy livingroom chair to sit in. Dont forget to tip the staff because they work their butts off.

I like this space tucked away from the main road. I stumbled upon Rudy’s by accident but it was the best one I made that evening. A mid size Setting where you can hear the music crisply from every corner of the room I didn’t order food but my drink came out perfectly and the menu looked great. The food I did smell from the surrounding tables smell delicious. I will definitely come back and get the gumbo so many around me seemed to enjoy. And the band was great.

This was a cool experience. There was a $10 cover, I didnt eat anything, but the open skate jazz session was nice. There were some passionate musicians and some that came to learn. Our service was definitely the lowlight. The menus were dropped off and at least 20 minutes went by before we could to order drinks... even though he checked on several patrons around us. Thats why set opted out of trying the food. All in all,, it is a good environment and laid back atmosphere. Im not opposed to going again

Rudys Jazz Room is a great find in Nashville! On Sunday nights they offer impromptu jazz shows that feature local musicians who play together for the first time. The atmosphere is intimate and the food is excellent. The cocktails are also top notch. The staff does an excellent job accommodating patrons with dietary restrictions such as food allergies. I highly recommend Rudys to anyone that appreciates live jazz music. I will definitely return the next time I can visit Nashville!

Really cool spot. Reminded me of New Orleans. Good acoustics. Service was great. Saw Keith Carlock(Sting, Steely Dan, John Mayer, Miles Davis.. to name a FEW) and Jeff Coffin(Dave Matthews Band) on 12/6 and had my mind blown. They were technical on another level.. a level that mere mortals like myself cant truly begin to understand. But, man was it great. Those guys played nearly three hours and then had a second show from 11p-2a. INSANE. Will be back. Rudys! Rudys! Rudys!! Well done.

It was my husband and my first time; we went to see Craig Bailey and Friends perform. Even though we sat in the very back of the establishment, there was still great sound. Very friendly and very attentive staff. The performance was from 2:30pm to 5pm. Unfortunately, we were told that the kitchen was closed until 5pm, which would have been right at the completion of the performance. Later we saw a patron being served and was told the only thing they had available in the kitchen was gumbo until 5pm. A bit of misinformation but it was fine. I thought that the bathrooms were very dark but they were clean, one toilet per bathroom and I believe there may have been 2 or 3 bathrooms. I enjoyed the decor, they really did a great job with the ambiance. We enjoyed ourselves and Im sure we will be returning.

Rudys deserves a lot of credit for providing excellent jazz from Nashville musicians. However, not all understand that this is a listening room. Invariably, the crowd in the back is just too loud to enjoy the music. Very annoying & often ruins the evening. Until they get the noise under control they only get 3 stars. Better reviews once they get the noise remedied. Get it together, Rudys!

This place is really nice. Ive been to better jazz clubs but its worth a visit. Ambiance is nice and I enjoyed the food and thought it was fairly priced. The staff was also really great. The 8pm cover is a bit pricey in my opinion and they also charged us for the credit card surcharge $3.70 for our two $20 covers. I asked about it and the employee said he didnt know exactly what the surcharge was, maybe square so I realized it was the merchant svs fee. I asked if that was legal in Tennessee and he didnt know. I looked it up and it is legal, but they should put signage which I didnt see. Also, the surcharge should be about 2.75%, and they charged us almost 10%, which doesnt seem fair to me. Then the musicians asked for tips ... But I already paid a $22 cover so thats doesnt seem right to me either cause they talked on stage about how they travel with their bands and seem to work full-time with music. But thats at each persons discretion.

My wife and I visited Rudys in April 2019. The Jody Nardone Trio played. It was a very enjoyable evening. The band was great. They played numerous jazz standards such as Caravan and Take Five. All three men can just flat play. It was a real joy to listen in. Given all the chaos that surrounds the downtown Nashville music scene, this was a welcome change. They showed a playful side by doing three Billy Joel songs requested by one drunk patron that tipped them $100. They covered them well. The club itself is nice and cozy. The crowd that night was very into the music and respectful to the musicians. The staff was attentive and friendly. We only had drinks so I cannot comment on the food.We would very happily return to listen to more great music in a terrific environment.

This place is an absolute disaster. We went up to the bar to order a drink after one of the servers indicated we can get drinks at the bar while we wait for our table which is pretty typical of any bar. Not Rudys since we pretty much got attacked by Trish the hostess to get us to move since its a Safety hazard. I have never been treated this way by a business its like you owe them for letting you in after paying $15 cover. What an utter joke... I went ahead and coveyed this to the owner Matt who clearly does not have control over his staff and I told him that this behavior is both unprofessional and unacceptable. They also did nothing to make it up for us but forget to give us water and mess up our food order... Completely disappointed and embarrassed im front of my friends. This is a wonderful place To go with that special someone or a group of friends for a great evening featuring good music and a great drink menu. The food was okay and the menu was very limited so if you dont like Creole or Cajun, eat before you go. The seating was very comfortable Because the chairs are padded. Everyone has these hard bottomed chairs these days which are difficult to sit in if you have any muscular or skeletal pain issues so this was perfect for me. Parking is challenging as there are various businesses that are competing for parking space. You may have to walk to the club from a short distance. Everyone was so courteous and the service was great. We celebrated my Sisters birthday and we are already planning a return trip.
