Yesterday I was genuinely blessed to attend a Concealed Carry Class that was taught by Ryan Simpson. Ryan was extremely knowledgeable, very personable and respectful of our time. He crammed so much useful information in to our class. Several of us had been to a CCC before but agreed that Ryan brought that something special. He thanked us many times for choosing Royal Range. Royal Range is fortunate to employ such a good man and we were fortunate to have Ryan Simpson as our trainer. If youre looking for a CCC you will want to come here for your instruction.Thank you, Ryan and Royal Range.

Amazing range and facilities. Great classrooms with all the modern equipment needed for professional classes. The ranges are the most up to date I have seen. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. ONLY issue is trying to hear the instructor in the range while the giant exhaust fans are running. Impossible. I understand the fans are required for our safety, but there should be the small belt clip speakers for instructors while on the range

I love a Royal Range. I cant thank Ryan and Mark enough for their leadership in the conceal carry class. Their years of expertise are insightful, and I have such a better understanding and comfort level about what it truly means to have a conceal carry-- and all the decisions that go with when it is and is not ok to use deadly force. Ryan Simpson makes the class fun and and interesting. He is hilarious and I hope everyone can take a class from him! Mark is extremely patient and a great teacher. On the range, he helped me with my pistol. As a new shooter, I want to thank him for taking the time to answer my questions. As a woman, entering a gun range can feel awkward but not at Royal Range. Everyone was welcoming and helpful and truly there to guide me and other ladies every step of the way. Thank you!

I’m not really sure what is going on as far as if they are open or not. According to their website and answering machine it sounds as if the are still up and running but I have reached out 4 different ways - calls, messages, online intake for private instruction and have not had a response yet. That was several weeks ago and no one ever got back to me.

Royal Range lost a sale today and will not be returning for future purchases. I walked in and 90% of the people inside did not have a mask to include employees and customers. Last time I checked, Royal Range was in Davidson County. Davidson County currently requires masks. On a day when the US crosses 130,000 new cases of COVID-19 per day, this disregard for local government health safety measures and the health of customers is unacceptable.

It was my family and friends first time shooting and the employees are FANTASTIC!! Since we were a big, we did a party and were given our own range. They put on music and disco lights! Our officers/rangers were Carl, Chris, Jeff, and Bryan and they were so informative, funny, and just a blast to be with. I can honestly say, besides shooting, they made the experience even much more memorable by themselves alone. I highly recommend Royal Range - it will surely be an amazing experience!️

Went in with the flatmate to shop for shotguns (flatmate, not me) and possibly an AR-15. Very limited selection on both. Walked to the AR area and 4 employees (I assume as they were behind the counter) were there looking at a rifle - not one greeting, no one asked if I needed help. It’s a clean, bright store and had a decent selection of handguns and some ammunition. I picked a couple of boxes of .357 magnum and we, nothing other then ammo, left. Here’s the breakdown: clean, bright, well organized +1 star, helpful and friendly revolver fan at the counter +1 star, being a gun store +1 star, great range amenities (didn’t use but lots info on the ranges available) +1 star, no greeting from staff too busy playing with a firearm -1 star.I may go back to check out the range but there are places that are closer so it’s a “we’ll see”. If friends are going there I’d go but.....

Decided it was time to get my concealed carry permit, and Royal Range was the place to do it. Ryan S was the instructor, and his teaching was mostly effortless. You can really tell he has a passion for weapons! His sense of humor is great, too. It made the class go quickly and smoothly. (He is also great at handling those people who have a personal story for everything...). After not shooting a handgun in decades, he made me feel very at ease with the range portion of the class, as well. All in all, it was a great experience! I look forward to using the range at Royal Range to decide on a personal weapon, as well as taking more classes!

I’ve been buying from this place since day one when they were only open for retail. It seems like they have consistently gone downhill from there in my opinion. I went in today with the sole intention of purchasing a firearm. It was approximately 1:30 PM when I arrived and there was hardly anybody in the store. Well, it’s now 3 o’clock and I just left with no firearm. Not one person could stop what they were doing long enough to even acknowledge my presence there. Frustrated, I finally left and I’m taking my business elsewhere. Sorry, royal range. You lost a good customer today. I’ve purchased at least 5 to 6 guns from you, and even a bow.

DO NOT GO TO ROYAL RANGE. Today I went to Royal Range and decided to buy 1 box of practice ammo in .40 caliber. Just one box. Mind you I was not buying a hand gun or a rifle. I was asked for my phone number and I gave it to the cashier. He could not find me in the system. Then he asked me if I had bought something from them before and I said yes. He proceeded to ask me for my drivers license. I was offended and asked him why was he asking for my DL. He said he had to verify my age before selling some ammo to me. I told him not to worry about it and walked out. I had bought ammo from every gun store in Nashville & surrounding areas and have never been asked for my DL. I then got home and called and spoke to one of the managers. He told me that buy law they cannot sell ammo to anyone under 21. I am 47 yrs. old and the person who asked me for the DL could see that. I felt discriminated against. Today will be the last time I will ever go to Royal Range. I will drive all the way to Franklin to the Franklin Gun Shop. Good folks there.

When we first entered the actual lane the rso on duty was rude from start to finish, There were 4 shooting lanes open and he decided to watch my group instead of evenly watching everyone. Ive been to other ranges before so I know we werent the issue. We proceeded to try to have a good time and instead of giving us warning or even aid us he yelled and gave a disgusting attitude because a slight inch of the gun passed the line, he made two members of my group so uncomfortable that they had to step out in till another younger RSO was on duty. The three stars are for him because he was aiding my group, giving us tips and so friendly -- how it really should be. Will we go going in again ? Has to ONLY be when the younger RSO is there or when the older RSO fixes his attitude, he had no problem being sweet to the other two open lanes.

Also the range attendants Anthony and Brain were spectacular! But range goers BEWARE! It was our first time using the range there so we asked how the times worked. Cheryl at the front told us that we pay by the hour up front but if we wanted to extend once we are in then we just come back out to pay for the extra hour. Well we attempted to extend once our hour was done. And we were rudely told we COULD NOT because people on the waiting list. Which is frustrating! How as a business you don’t want your costumers to stay longer and paying to stay longer... Definitely WILL NOT BE USING THIS RANGE ever again. He also was very helpful and called to let me know that it had arrived and how to get it when I got there. Our class especially appreciated their complimentary coffee (grounds by none other than Black Rifle!). I ended up purchasing a Bladetech ammo carrier because their price was better than anything I could find elsewhere, AND they let me try the carrier out in my class prior to purchase. Let me preface by saying I am a combat veteran of multiple tours with the 3rd Ranger Battalion. I am writing this to ask my fellow veterans to consider using another facility to train and purchase firearms.I brought a shotgun to Royal last September to have cerakote work done. I was told that all cerakoting was done at the end of every month and it would be done at the end of September... So, while it sat there, I tried to contact them about installing a separate part on the stock of the gun and they wanted to charge me an extra $400 dollars JUST to install the part (part not included). I declined, so I came and got my gun, sent my stock off to a separate company, had them install the part for $50, then promptly brought the gun back to Royal within a few weeks to await cerakote for the end of October or at the latest end of November cerakote rotation. And when I dropped it back off, I was told I should have it back by the end of the month. I stressed that as long as I had it back for duck season (end of November) then all was good. But you could tell, they didn’t like that I had someone else install that part for $50... but whatever... I called and checked on it once a week or so... DANIEL the gunsmith who was supposed to cerakote it, constantly told me I bought a trashy gun and that it wasn’t even worth cerakoting and I could feel that the guy hated me everytime he had to talk to me. He made it so that I HATED to call down there, but I wanted to know if it was getting done.... it wasn’t... He was giving me the big time run around by the end of it and making stuff up so that it wouldnt get cerakoted in time for me to use it. So then, after duck season has ended, February.... they start calling me, surprise surprise... wanting me to come get the gun. I was furious they had pushed me off for 5 months and then when I didn’t need it anymore, they call non stop... so I told my wife, I’ll go get it at the start of NEXT duck season... if they can jack me around for a few months, I should be able to do the same... well apparently not... they sent me a certified letter, wanting to charge me $400 just in storage fees for the past few months since I didn’t pick it up promptly... is that even legal? Now, if I want my stoeger double barrel back, I have to pay them over $800 dollars... So basically, they are taking my gun, because I won’t pay the ransom. I hope this place goes out of business.... I have never had an experience like this in my entire life and I have never written a poor review about anyone online. (reposted without foul language so it wouldn’t get ghost banned)RESPONSE- I originally brought the gun to you in September... I brought the gun BACK to you Nov 7th (because you wouldnt install a piece for less than $400, which i had installed for $50) and I was told it would be ready by the end of November.... you started calling me to come get it almost 4 months later in February. I made a special trip to visit Royal Range for the first time on Friday, 6/21/2019. I entered at approximately 6:50 PM. The store was not busy, including myself, there were 5 people maximum through out the main retail space.I was very interested in purchasing a Mossberg 590A1 and went straight over to that section. The lady employee behind that counter was assisting a rather talkative customer and I understood that firearm paperwork takes a long time so I waited patiently at the counter for 5-7 minutes. Despite my patient and fixed stance in the same spot, I was not only never greeted verbally, there wasnt even eye contact made. Simply no acknowledgement of my presence.I decided to walk around and take a lap around the main retail space, returning to my original waiting spot. The other employee behind the center checkout counter had wrapped up with the customer or two he had been with and despite the fact that I was clearly still standing and waiting for assistance, the original lady asked the other employee to make some copies for her. I still was not acknowledged in any way or form.I really wanted that 590A1 though, so I decided to take myself to the central desk to ensure that they were aware that I was looking for assistance and not standing there soaking up the scene. I stood at the front of the desk while the gentleman had his back turned and I waited again. A third employee, I am assuming, came out of the range area about that time and sit down a bag and began talking to the first guy in the center...DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE ORIGINAL GENTLEMAN HAD TO COMPLETELY TURN AROUND, PASSING MY LINE OF SIGHT HE NOR THE OTHER GENTLEMAN MADE ME ANY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT.NOT ONE OF THESE EMPLOYEES EVER ACKNOWLEDGED MY EXISTENCE.They carried on like I was literally invisible. Suffice it to say, I had enough and through up my hands in disbelief and defeat and walked out... no one said anything.SINCE THIS WAS THREE SEPARATE EMPLOYEES OVER THE SPAN OF 5-10 MINUTES, IT IS CLEAR, THIS IS THE STANDARD M.O. OF THIS RETAIL BUSINESS.I will not be returning and while I encourage everyone to make their own choices based on their own experience, do know and understand that there are much more friendly and service oriented firearms stores scattered through the area. Pay attention to how you are treated and support businesses that genuinely care about supporting you.Lastly, as I mentioned before, I totally understand the need for patience, particularly at a firearm business but to basically be ignored like I was not even there, thats not cool or good business. You lost a sale guys and a customer completely.

Nice pistol range but I also went there for the archery range. THEY NO LONGER HAVE AN ARCHERY RANGE. Drove quite a ways to do both. Just FYI for people going there for the archery.

Excellent self defense classes! Take both self defense 1 & 2. Bob is a great instructor and the hands on scenario experience in self defense 2 is invaluable! Best classes, would again to refresh later on.

I wanted to be a regular here, and I planned on going real often(especially due to my job requiring a more advanced range qual), but being kicked off the range for a 1 hour time limit when theres 4 other lanes open and no line is ridiculous. I understand the hourly rate for rsos arent cheap, but at least give me the opportunity to buy 2 or 3 hours at a time if anything and give discounted rates for longer periods of time. I would have no problem paying more for 2-3 hrs but dont kick me off when theres no line. Being told to go to the desk to pay more money and come back is dumb. Ive been to other ranges that wont do this. I only had 70 rounds or so of handgun ammo left and was qualifying for my job the next day and I was kicked off with 4 or 5 other lanes open. I wasnt going to pay another fee just to shoot off that last bit of ammo and that shooting was for me to get an important job. I meet two different classifications for the range use discount but still annoying. I just left. I dont think Ill be returning.

Came here for my Bachelor party this past weekend. They could not have shown us a better time. From the time we walked in they were friendly and engaging. The guns were unbelievable and as someone who owns guns and shoots a lot, they was the nicest range I have been to. Everything here is top notch. I cannot wait to visit Nashville again and I will absolutely be stopping by Royal again. Cannot thank you guys enough.

This place is the best! Ive made some purchases here, taken several advanced classes and come to shoot on several occasions. The staff is super friendly and the physical facility is awesome. I cant think of anything more you could reasonably ask for out of a gun shop / range.

We visited the range as a group of 7. Within minutes of entering the shop, Jerry introduced himself to our group. He was knowledgeable and helped us pick out a fun variety of guns to try out. Overall, the consensus from our group was that Jerry was a really cool dude and made our experience at the gun range that much better. 10 out 10 would go again. Thanks Jerry!

I ordered a gun online and received an email from Mr. Steve Allemore. The email was straight forward about transfer fee which is $35.00 per serialized item and a $10.00 background check fee for a total of $45.00. When I had an issue or concern about the delivery I email him and he responded back in a timely manner. When it was time to pick up my gun the whole process took less than 15 minutes. I was in and out. Overall, customer service was a 5/5.

Walls have been fixed so people in the next lane are no longer being pelted with brass. Updating to 5 stars!Original:The range has one fatal flaw. The walls between each lane are not tall enough. They go up to about 6.5-7feet. While that may seem adequate, peoples spent casings from the lane next to you will go right up and over, and hit you constantly. Extremely annoying. I like everything else about the range, except this. Please fix!

I had a great time, and I spent more money than I care to admit. I dont think it was expensive; its just that I was interested in so many different firearms. I live in NYC, so shooting isnt a typical option for me.The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I went in knowing very little about guns, and the staff was patient and thorough. They had an answer for every question. I left with a comparable amount of excitement and potential passion for firearms.
