If I was a resident of the Ville, Id sign up in a heart beat. But, even as I was visiting friends, and catch Nashville Shakespeare across the street, I found NSL to have some warm vibes all around. The folx playing matches seemed competitive, but gracious. Everyone was having fun. I grabbed a scoop and chilled on the deck well into the evening. I imagine itd be a great place to watch a ball game as well. From now on, whenever I visit Nashville, Ill make it one of my stops.

I signed up in advance in hopes of playing flag football as a free agent. Never heard from anyone in regards to other free agents that might have joined. Was hoping to touch base with them and practice, etc. Ended up getting hurt 2 weeks before the season. Asked for my money back. They denied me. They have never even provided a service for me, the league never started, and they are keeping my money! ? No way! I want my money back! I work very hard for it!

Decently managed and operated.*Edited*2017 - Flag FootballLocation was listed as TBD until the week of the first game (I believe 3 days). When the location was announced it was not where the team had signed up to play and was a ways away from where we though the other possibility was so several of the members decided not to play because of the distance to the new location. The remaining members scrambled to find replacements and were able to field a team with enough members for the game but the manager would not let us play (even though both teams wanted to). She told us to take it up with the league office the following Tuesday and said that it would be closed Friday and Monday for a holiday. We called to explain our position on Tuesday and the rep. said that we should have dealt with it sooner and was unhelpful. We then had to forfeit the season and were not allowed to register/pay later and the members that had already paid were not reimbursed and no credit was given for future seasons. No shirts/jerseys were purchased and the referees and league manager on site were paid for the one game we showed up for but could not play.2018 - SoftballI fully understand that nobody can control the weather. We had a game canceled prematurely when the field was in playable condition and it did not rain. Another game was then canceled after 4pm (the latest we thought it could be canceled to avoid scheduling conflicts). Then, due to so many cancellations, we ended up playing another game in the pouring rain where there was 3+ inches of water over home plate and both batters boxes and the field was virtually a swamp and the bases were slippery and the bats hard to hold on to. We ended up creating an imaginary home plate several feet in front of the puddles. At the end of the abbreviated season I do not recall any refund or credit given.2019 - SoftballWe won the league championship and our prize was a coupon for each player to one of the league sponsor bar. The coupons were 3 months expired.2019 - SoftballOur team had played in the same league/night for the past 6-8 seasons. We were told that all of those slots had been filled and that league was full. So, we had to switch nights/leagues to a less-desirable situation which caused several team members to have to quit. When we showed up for our first game and were discussing with the manager who was checking us in, he looked and said that there was actually now a slot in the league that we wanted to play in and had been playing in for the previous years. Id think that a team that has been paying for and playing in a league consistently should have the right to remain in that and communication could have been better. Also, while he was looking into that, he noticed that the team we were supposed to play that evening had not paid and was not fully-registered.. We ended up not having a game which could have been noticed and explained well in advance.I have played in 4 other leagues (flag football, softball, and kickball) in different cities and the overall experience has been better in each of those. NSL is a blast because you are out there with your friends and having fun but it is also the only option in town. Eric is a great umpire but several of the others we have had have been pretty bad and since you only allot one to most games they did not have any help. There used to be league/field managers at every game but now there are not and there are rarely two umpires. Field conditions vary and the late games are usually pretty bumpy; Id suggest dragging them before game 1 & after game 2 for maintenance and player safety. Id also suggest hiring 2 umpires/referees for all games. Another suggestion would be to offer team shirts/jerseys for $15 or customized for $25. Sponsors and players would love it and itd be marketing that you are profiting off of for you. There is little visibility of events or sponsors excluding emails. Id approach sponsors and fields about signage opportunities and encourage them to bring coupons for the refs to hand out each night.

Efficient in upkeep with fields and schedules. Follow through with incident reports are proficient and professional. NSL does the best to get their most qualified refs out there that understand the rules of each particular sport... even though it can’t happen every game.Standard Athletics appreciates YOU, NSL, for giving us older kids the opportunity let out our competitive nature and love for the game.

League has cancelled the last four weeks due to weather. We havent played a game!(soccer) They clearly have stated on their site that they will cancel games not later than 4pm. They have waited until the last minute several times, and at least once have waited until 6 to cancel after saying the games would be on at 4. I know the weather is something they cant control, but they have failed to properly communicate with us, failed to be considerate for our schedules, failed to schedule any game through the week, and failed to find a different/better/reliable facility to play in. At the end of the day its just water. Out of a 7 week league, we have not played in 4, and now they want to schedule everything in the next 3 weeks. I emailed them several time and never got a response. We have not touched a ball. I finally called to ask for a refund (some teammates are going back home and after 4 weeks wont get to play), and they will not give us a refund. They dont care about the player, or the game, just the momey. We will never play in this league again.

Volleball League: last minute cancellations, rude referees, game times get delayed or pushed back consistently due to not deconflicting the schedule for the high school gym. They repeatedly make it clear that there are no refunds, no matter the reason for games being cancelled. Very disappointing.

Poor costumer service. You pay a lot for lots of canceled games they don’t always make up. They don’t even supply a ball. They NEVER give refunds....Even when you need unexpected surgery before the season but you’ve already paid up. Cheap and rude.
