Love walking here, beautiful surroundings. Has been pleasantly refreshing break from the warmer inland temps, even just a mile or two away. This is #puremichigan #watchusgomuskegon

OMG....Breathtaking sunsets. Best sunsets Ive ever seen have been at this beach. You have a view of 3 separate lighthouses. Pier that is nice and wide, runs along beach then curves and angles straight out into Lake Michigan and ends with a fantastic view on lake and 2 other lighthouses across the way for the harbor/channel for ferry that goes to Wisconsin.

Beautiful place. Kids played on the little sand dune/hill. We all walked out to the lighthouse and played in the water at the beach. There was even a bathroom and playground. Great fun for everyone!

Beautiful place to walk but WATCH YOUR STEP! The pier to the South breakwater lighthouse is very uneven and dangerous in places. Because of the water constantly hitting it, some pieces are severely damaged on the pier, with one section mostly missing from the top of the walkway washing off to the side. The pier is about two sidewalk width with large boulders on each side. I personally would not bring small children or anyone without very sure footing onto this pier. While Ill risk it on my own, Id never risk taking #ToursAroundMichigan clients on this particular pier.

Its a beautiful spot to watch the lake and/or sunset. The walkway isnt perfect; one section has a chunk that fell off this winter (2018-19). If its really windy, you may get a little wet.

The Muskegon South Breakwater Light is beautiful and unique, making it a favorite in the West Michigan area. Ample parking is located along the Pere Marquette Beach, and the walk to the lighthouse is lined with rocks and crashing waves. Coupled with the South Pierhead Light, this is a must see destination for lighthouse fans. You can view it from another angle at the Muskegon State Park in North Muskegon - the drive around Muskegon Lake is long, but beautiful and worth the site!

Its a very nice area. The only thing wrong is to walk out there you have to be a bit careful because there are a few small spots that gave broken aja eroded cement to walk on to get to the lighthouse. Its still a romantic type of spot as well. So enjoy the beautiful water, the boats, swimming, or get in some fushing.
