Local and national history mixed in one beautiful 17th century home, a must for any local or visitor to the area. Their large exhibit changes every 4 months, and they always have some of their extensive collection of Thomas Nast on display. Staff is knowledgeable and kind, and their director very approachable. The 3 acre garden is beautiful all year round, and free every day of the week. Truly an underappreciated local slice of history.
Friendly staff. Nice tour of a historical structure. Much information on the history of the beautiful house. Located in a safe neighborhood. Different historical tours are offered during the year. Check the website for current details.
Historic home with rotating exhibits. Current Iconic Fashion 1920s to 2970s exhibit w/historical references, is absolutely fascinating! Tours provided by enthusiastic guides to take guests around
Wonderful experience, great art and furnishings, world-class Thomas Nast collection, very professional and knowledgeable staff
We went to see the Thomas Nast exhibit. We were the only visitors there at 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon and we parked on the street right in front. Note the house where Nast lived was right across the street. The Nast exhibit was very interesting - it is temporary. Crafts to keep the kid occupied and happy in the center of the room. Nast’s drawing all around with excellent explanations. The lovely docent showed us the 1st floor rooms with their antiques but the most interesting was the blue China penny ware in the basement.
