I loved the train ride and animals. There was a peacock that traveled all over the zoo. You can tell he runs the show there. He was so beautiful when he was trying to scare the other birds by spreading his feathers and shaking them. And this blue macaw there was actually trying to talk to us. He was so funny and beautiful. Only thing is i hate with the Covid-19 pandemic the zoo was basically empty. When the pandemic is hopefully over please go visit these magnificent and amazing creatures!

The Montgomery Zoo was a fantastic place to visit for the day. The Zoo is larger than it seems from the outside and the staff was friendly. The animal exhibits were well kept and unlike other zoos I have visited in the past, almost every animal was awake and wandering around when we visited. It was a great experience and Id love to take my family again the next time we visit.

Great for the size. The museum is air conditioned so it gets a bit more traffic than it can comfortably handle. Everything is labeled well and flows nicely, the train is a neat addition, but some exhibits only have one good viewing angle and the reptile house smells a little unkempt.

I moved away from Alabama 4 years ago and I still dream about this place. This is the perfect zoo and my happy place is right infront of their otter tanks. The layout is convenient, the train is cool, you can feed fish and giraffes, I remember there’s paddle boats somewhere. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss this zoo.I hope to revisit Alabama one day specifically to go to this zoo.

Firstly, the reptile enclosure were NOT CLEAN! There were ants all over the one of the snakes Face and eyes. The other thing I’ll like to speak on is the otters water. I have photos and video of how green and mucky it was. Not to mention there were random objects such as a broken slide. Which I also have photo proof as well. Also there were multiple animals in the same enclosure that looks to be placed randomly. Such as a wolf and an Ant Eater in the same environment. The place just looked like everything was thrown around. There was trash and everything above everywhere. Did not enjoy my time.

We love the Montgomery zoo. Very shady and quiet and you can spend a whole day at the Zoo taking your time picnicking and going to the museum. The bathrooms are always clean and stocked well. The food is reasonably priced and fast good. The park has plenty to do next to the petting Zoo. Its a very nice zoo. The museum is very big and its nice to go inside with air conditioning or warmth in the winter. This zoo has a lot if hands on for the kids.

A very nice zoo. Wonderfully small so you can see everything without being completely worn out. Had an amazing stingrat petting tank and the regular exhibits had very happy animals that would come up to the glass. Also, it was a warm day but there was a lot of shade cover on the paths and misters to cool you off. Also had an awesome playground for kids :)

Smaller than Atlanta but, bigger that Birmingham. This zoo had so much charm and character. The train and sky ride were extra but well worth the money. We ALWAYS have a great time while visiting the zoo. Its a friendly zoo, and the price is right for what they have. My daughter is 3.5, and she loves it there, especially feeding the giraffes!! The Stingray exhibit was open this time, and we LOVED it. We got tickets for the private feeding session, and it was really cool... all the kids in there (and the adults, too!) enjoyed it.We went when the high was going to be 88 and cloudy, and that is seriously the best time. The water misters were on, and thats always a pleasure! All of the animals were out, but most the big cats were being lazy, as were the otters (my fave). We happened to be there while the vets were giving West Nile vaccines to the eagles, so that was interesting to watch (the vets were also checking on the wing and foot of one of them... Athena, I think). We happened upon a presentation at the lion exhibit, and I learned something new about lions that are kept in captivity... always good to learn... my daughter thought the lion skull was awesome! The restrooms were clean, all the staff we encountered were friendly, and helpful, and the zoos landscaping was on point.

THE MONTGOMERY ZOOWhat a hidden treasure! We spent the day at the zoo in Montgomery, AL and had a wonderful time.FACILITY:The facility is beautifully maintained. The landscaping and lush greenery made even a warm 80°F sunny day feel shady and cool. There are lots of shady pathways to walk between exhibits. Nothing seems too far away.FOR THE KIDS:There were plenty of kids activities including a petting zoo next to a large playground and a special needs playground. We really enjoyed the Parakeet Enclosure and the SkyChair ride and the Giraffe Experience.DINING AND SNACKS:There were several small snack bars on property never too far away for cool drinks. There is a centrally located large dining location that overlooks lions, tigers, the Giraffe Feeding Experience, and the train station.IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES:Online Tickets - two bottlenecks for customers are getting tickets at the entrance, and ordering food.Fixes:Customers who order tickets online ahead of time should be able to scan and walk right in, bypassing the ticket line. We waited 15 min at the start of the day just to get in the park. Unnecessary. The dining cafe should be upgraded to handle large crowds quickly. Grab and go cafeteria options. Self checkout. If you are close to Montgomery, AL, I definitely recommend the Montgomery Zoo for a wonderful picnic in the park with your wild animals.

Great zoo! Good size for small children,a preschooler can see the whole thing without getting too tired. Zoo admission also includes the Mann Wildlife museum and the stingray petting, both which are worth doing. When entering the zoo, I recommend going to the right first since the playground is to the left. If you go right first you can do the whole zoo and end at the playground. There is also a train and skylift which are both enjoyable. They also have pygmy hippos which are adorable. At Christmas they have a lights display as well, so worth the visit during the holidays.

Had a nice visit back again in Montgomery! I have not been to the zoo since it opened. Wow what a change! The zoo looks like they are trying so hard but funding is desperately needed for not only the animals but some paint to freshen up the buildings. It would be nice for a club to donate their time to repair and paint the structures. That said.we had a very nice time 5 adults and one 7 year old child. They were setting up lights for the annual Christmas display. I would say go. It is not expensive..but entertaining in a calm manner. It was really nice but why I gave it a 3 . Its $15 to get in plus when you get in Train ride is extra $3 each person. To pet the giraffe and feed it $3 each person. The chair lift wasnt working. I dont know how much that was. So if you have a big family like me we couldnt do everything. Which is not good when you have children that wants to go. Very disappointing on that part. To make this zoo better and more people be attracted to it.FIRST - zoo tickets $8 covers everything SECOND - have food courts in different areas nothing to fancy but cheapThird - have someone selling balloons on a stick so they want fly away Forth - Have someone make animals out of balloonsFIFTH - have a photo both like the moviesSIXTH - have a charge to take a picture with an animalGet creative about the zoo but dont over charge people to get in or to ride or pet the things inside
