This is THE place to visit all year-round, and especially now for holiday gift shopping. You will find it all here on four floors - paintings, ceramics, mosaics, glass art, jewelry, clothing and textiles, hand-made soaps, handbags. Check their website for days/hours. Not crowded and covid precautions are practiced.

350 unique Artists and Creatives under One Enormous Roof! The Northrup King Building is the largest arts complex in Minnesota. Nationally and Internationally collected Artists work here. They have exciting monthly events too. First Thursday each month is an open studio event 5-9pm, and every Saturday (unless federal holiday) is Open Studio Saturday, 12-4pm. Art, paintings, jewelry, sculpture, fiber, glass, ceramics, textiles, furniture, and more.As a former seed warehouse, this 100 year old building still has its industrial roots: fantastic metal doors, exposed brick, scarred hardwood floors, pulleys, old time elevators (in addition to a modern passenger elevator). Combined with all the art, this is one of the most charming buildings I have ever visited.

Many studios are open on Saturday afternoons, 12-4 pm and for the “First Thursday” of every month from 5-9 pm. Additional extended hours during holidays posted on the website. Great and affordable original art.

Such a wonderful place for artists to showcase their work, and other people and artists to see artwork.I had studied about an artist who showcases her work here and got to meet her in person. Seeing the artist next to their work is awesome and inspiring.

First time I visited the Northrup King Building knew I wanted to rent space there. Vibrant art building with everything under the sun that is made creatively. Super awesome management, that has been a huge supporter of the local art community for many years. I recommend a visit here for any of their own studio events: first Thursdays, Northrup King Nights, Art Attack , and Art-A-Whirl. Easy location to find with tons of free parking.

The Northrup King Building is an old seed storage building completely restructured and now home of several artist studios. The most impressive thing of this place is the vast variety of art media and styles. We visited on Saturday, but the best event is the open studio on the first Thursday each month (5-9 pm). Free parking lot across the street.

Visit NKB during Art-A-Whirl for the most expansive artist open studio tour. So, so many great artists with a vast variety of art medium and styles. The old building adds to the experience with the architecture and aging wood floors. There is a parking lot across the street that is of no charge and on street parking around the building. It is a HUGE building!! I apologize for no artist names in my review photos - just go and visit to see them all!

An incredible loft-style building with a staggering number of artist studios. Note that each artist has his/her own hours, so you need to check beforehand to see which studios may be available to visit. There are several open studio events each month when you can see most of the studios in the building, and it would take a long time to see them all! There are all different types of art here: paintings, ceramics, sculptures, mixed media... Well worth visiting if you are even remotely interested in art.

Located in the heart of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, the Northrup King Building is a working home to nearly 300 artists. Hours for individual studios vary but many are open Saturdays 12-4, the first Thursday of each month 5-9, and during annual events Art-A-Whirl (May) and Art Attack (November). The variety of creative work in the building is second to none and the ability to purchase directly from the artist in their working spaces gives buyers unique insight into the work and the artists process.
