Beautiful, serene walk along the ocean. Several ocean access points for those who want to fish or just relax on the rocks. There is no way that you can come away from here without feeling an inner peace.

Beautiful natural landscape at the end point, with easy walking trails and lovely lookout points onto the water. The only place that would let us park in all of Middletown. All the beaches and water access is member only, resident only and otherwise restricted to anyone visiting. Luckily we were able to get out of the car and enjoy the views and some nature. The center was closed and they had closed multiple trails as well.

Tired of the mass of humanity in Newport? The Wildlife Refuge is a great place to hike a couple of easy (1 1/2 mile) level trails along the coast, marvel at the surf and relax. Nice beaches in the area as well. When you have recharged your battery you can return to Newport and rejoin the crowds...

Wide open trails. Great ocean views. The beach access points are a bit narrow and steep for older folks. Get there early for parking; we had to cruise the lot for about 20 minutes for a spot, but well worth the wait.

A beautiful place to spend your time. There are couple of trails which takes you around giving views to the shore from multiple points. And there there are at least couple of beaches which looked very good too. The only problem is that there are not much parking places here, apart from that its worth a visit.

This is a great place for walking/ hiking with your family. It has flat, easy trails with benches along the way but you can also veer off and go explore the rocks as well. We saw plenty of flowers and wildlife so it can be a teaching opportunity too. The views are awe inspiring!! Kids will love it and parents will enjoy it.

Beautiful. There are 2 or 3 main paths you can hike. One is along the coast and its gorgeous. We did that one. Abt 1.5 miles. Or you can merge with the other loop and total will be about 3 miles. The other loop is more inland.

First time here foe a little winter trek. Hoping to see some wildlife and get lucky. Trails are manicured and marked well. Few miles of different tracks. Multiple overlooks of the coastline with specified zones to go down to the water. Deer were everywhere some walked right in front of me. Bird and raptor signage said this spot has some rare visitors to watch out for. I drive a car poor in the snow and sometimes going to these areas are dicey. Roads were nice and paved all the way to the parking lot. There is a wildlife center there opened seasonally that looked nice.

This is probably the best nature preserve trail that weve hiked on while weve lived in Newport. I love the coastal views, and accessibility to the small beach areas, and cliffs. There are plenty of opportunities to take amazing photos, and observe plenty of the natural habitat and animals. The trails are also very well maintained, and at least 3-4 ft wide along all of the routes, which is wider than many. Parking is also free, but it is not intended for people going to the beach down the street.

Great place to bring kids, even in the winter (though I would highly recommend cold weather gear because the wind can be bitter cold). Trails are well maintained and scenery is breathtaking. There are also beautiful and informative hands-on displays inside the visitor center, including exhibits of the local flora and fauna and even some history of the area. There are a couple telescopes for looking out over the breakers as well. My kids (ages 7, 5, 3, and 1) really enjoyed our visit

I absolutely love going here to take photos, unfortunately staff doesnt enforce rules... for example people that dont know better that approach the snowy owl, or people going there with dogs. Its a very special place that should be monitored outside, not just people in the building. This photo was taken by me, from there.

Family friendly and nature interactive. You can swim and snorkel during the warmer months. You can see deer and sea life all year around depending on time of day. Skipping stones are in an abundance...easily rivaling anywhere on Ocean Drive. Plus, Flos Clam Shack and Anthonys Seafood are right around the corner. Grab a stuffed quahog or clam cakes for a true southern NE experience.

A beautiful place to visit and enjoy views of the sea and land as well as wildlife. Theres a visitor center with some great exhibits and information. A gift shop and bathrooms are available too. Wide paths throughout the area mean that a wheelchair can also work here. This is one of the most underrated locations on Aquidneck Island. Forget the wealthy and material junk the tourist seem to come here for. Forget beaches 1,2, and 3. This place is closer to what God has in mind when he created Rhode Island. Good hiking and not overly crowded.

The trails are maintained well. The parking lot is paved. There are bathrooms available in the nature center at the main entrance or the side front entrance. The nature center is very nice and the staff is friendly. The trails are muddy after rain or snow melt. Access to the shore, from the trail is clearly marked. The trails are also very well marked. The main trail is very level and nice and wide.
