This is an awesome museum. Such a cool place. I went on the Free Guided Tour they have on Fridays; they also have free admission on Fridays as well from 6-9 pm. The tours are run by different staff at the museum. So every Friday its someone different. Everyone is very nice and very knowledgeable. I love it!In addition, the tour only covered the 5th floor, but there are 7 floors of permanent and temporary exhibitions. I am definitely coming back again to explore the other floors. Below are 2 pictures of 2 items displayed on the 1st floor (lobby).

Lovely art deco collection that has incorporated works from the 1920s through the 1940s into exhibits as well as architectural accents. They have temporary exhibits as well that add flavor to the already extensive museum. We saw the entire facility in 2.5 hours, some may take less time depending on how much you read about the pieces. If youre interested in the design of South Beachs iconic look, stop in and learn more. Gift shop is expensive, but they have a nice coffee bar inside with delightful employees.

My daughter and I used Google maps to help us get to the Wolfsonian, it took us straight to it. Upon entering you immediately come head on with a gorgeous full size sculpture and art work. We were enthralled by the beautiful Art Exhibit and furniture and electrical gadgets from by gone times. I wanted to stay in the elevator itself longer than we had to. Gargoyle head on each side, it looked like it belonged from a different era or a Scarry movie. We stopped at their very cool Cafe/Gift Shop on the way out for a delicious Macchiato.Loved it!

Went there with an FIU student. Was unaware that FIU students have free admission. Affordable and pleasant.

I enjoyed this more than PAMM, but that may just be because of my personal preferences. A fascinating collection of multi-medium 20th century art and objects ranging from Italian Fascism to Art Deco to pro-labor pieces to retro toaster collections and New Deal publications. The building is also historic and beautiful in its own right. The curators and guides in the museum were good folk.

While it is a very neat museum, the collection is relatively small. Which could be good or bad depending on what youre looking for. If you want a drop all day immersive museum, this is probably not what youre looking for. However, if you want a relatively quick, interesting, and different excersion, this could be right up your alley.Their gift shop/coffee shop is very neat! Some different items than a number of the museum shops Ive been in lately (though definitely of the same theme). And the coffee shop is a nice twist. I think it could be a fun little place to read or meet a friend.

I came on a Friday night, as every Friday night from 6-9 PM the Wolfsonian is FREE! It is so much more than an art museum, as in addition to paintings, there are all kinds of random artifacts, including even antique household items, and other objects from the daily lives of people in the past dating as far back as 1850. The gift shop has very interesting items as well. It is not a good place for young kids, as they would probably be bored, and would not be able to observe silence, but anyone with an interest in art or history museums should not be disappointed. As with most of Miami Beach, there is no free parking in the vicinity, but that is not the museums fault. I will definitely return.

One of the few museums in Miami that still has a historic art collection. Even the Lowe and the Bass have abandoned their collection in favor of only contemporary art. This is a hidden jewell in South Beach featuring art and design on the modern age (1850 - 1950). Also a beautiful Cafe for a meal though it is a bit overpriced.

A very interesting museum! They specialize in Soviet Propoganda and they also have household items from different eras on display. You dont see exhibitions like this in other museums. I think this might be a hidden gem, because we were the only people there for a while, and then only two more families came. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because there was a whole floor that was closed, and one of the floors was just the lobby to the closed library with one glass case with journals.

Intro film sets up goal of collector and museum. Driving force for collection is all that the industrial revolution created to make modern lives more interesting and efficient. Wolfson notes his collection and personal interest are contrary to what comes from nature; he is steadfastly fascinated by that which man creates for enjoyment. Period is 1920s through art deco and beyond

Im not much of an admirer of art, but I do like history. This place was described to me as a propaganda museum which led me to believe it was like war time propaganda. But thats not really what the focus was. The focus was more of Cuban-American relations through history. So this wasnt really what I expected. However, I have no doubt that there are lots of people that would appreciate it. For it not being what I expected, Im giving it 4/5 stars. It was free to get in on Friday evening which was nice.
