Memphis felt like a ghost town. Barely any people were on the street except some homeless. No one was in the trolley. Very few tourists. Even with COVID, I was expecting a little more to be going on than there was on a Thursday evening. Beale Street is quiet and quite colorful and has potential to be a loud, good time...I hope it gets revived somehow!

It was an off night, Thursday, but had friends in town for work. Started at Wiseacre brewery, my favorite, then around 8:30, we struggled to find a restaurant open. We ended up on Beale St at Blues City. Being from Memphis, I dont spend much time on Beale for the tourist but we had a great time and great food.

We visited on Saturday to have lunch at BB KINGS and did a little walking around. Not everything was open, not sure if that is Covid related or what. I can see and feel the energy and the history on Beale street and Im drawn to the diversity and welcomes that we were greeted with. Id love to return and see it on full swing. But definitely visit BB KINGS and enjoy a phenomenal meal.

The music, food, shops, and people are awesome! They even have flippers that will do all kinds of flips and 1 got my nephew, sister, and another person together and jumped over all 3 of them. He could have jumped over at least 1 other person. He, and all the flippers, are great!

Even though the energy felt dead due to COVID, this place was still fun to see and walk down! Exciting sights, fun signs, cool murals, a bunch of sights to see. Did not like the homeless people trying to sell stolen items and when I was going to give the man a few bucks he wanted more so I just told him to go on he wasnt getting anything. Food prices and drinks are outrageous for the amount of food u get and very little alcohol in the high priced mixed drinks..a lot of restaurants were closed but it was on a weekday but if your going to have a establishment on Beale it should be open

Looks like it could be a very fun place, we went in late October during Covid-19 pandemic which left for a very non crowded place. I think we maybe saw 20 other people there on the streets. Not many places open but we were able to get some souvenirs for the grand kids and I even enjoyed the Elvis shake. I hope we can get through this covid thing so places like this can get back to the thriving destinations they are meant to be.

My daughter and I had a blast riding the OJO motor scooter. The city closes Riverside off on the weekend for more riding enjoyment. The only negative was the fact that my daughters 1st scooter DID NOT have breaks and we were headed down hill when she found out. We took that scooter back to the docking station and simply signed into another one. I believe they gave her a discount for it. You must go experience this.UPDATE10/28/2020 Spoke to my daughter today only to find out that OJO gave her a full refund for those breaks... Thats just awesome concerned customer service. Oh yeah dont forget to take your fun family members downtown Memphis to enjoy the OJO ride. Have a blast!!!

The Beale Street entertainment district is quite a sight to see even during the COVID pandemic. There is music blasting out from many places. We stopped into Memphis without any real plan and all the museums and shops were already closed. Without knowing what else to do, we headed to Beale Street. It was a weeknight so it wasnt crowded. The restaurant we wanted to try turned out to be more of a bar so we ended up eating elsewhere. It was a cool vibe but probably more for adults and not so much for our 7yo and 11yo kids. We didnt spend a whole lot of time there but it was cool to see.

Theres a few interesting souvenir shops along the way and of course restaurants and bars everywhere definitely a place to go at night . Its just not the same during the day with out the neon Lights.
